Jeremiah 51:39-57
While they are flushed with heatH2552, I will serveH7896 themH853 a feastH4960, and I will make them drunkH7937 so thatH4616 they may revelH5937; then they will fall asleepH3462H8142 foreverH5769 and neverH3808 wake upH6974, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.40I will bring them downH3381 like lambsH3733 to the slaughterH2873, like ramsH352 withH5973 male goatsH6260.
HowH349 SheshachH83471 has been capturedH3920!The praiseH8416 of allH3605 the earthH776 has been seizedH8610.WhatH349 a horrorH8047 BabylonH894 has becomeH1961among the nationsH1471!42The seaH3220 has come upH5927 overH5921 BabylonH894;she is coveredH3680 in turbulentH1995 wavesH1530.43Her citiesH5892 have becomeH1961 a desolationH8047,a dryH6723 and aridH6160 landH776,a landH776 where noH3808H3605 oneH376 livesH3427,where noH3808 sonH1121 of manH120 passes throughH5674.44I will punishH6485H5921 BelH1078 in BabylonH894.I will make him spew outH3318 what he swallowedH1105.The nationsH1471 will noH3808 longerH5750 streamH5102 to himH413;evenH1571 the wallH2346 of BabylonH894 will fallH5307.
Come outH3318 of herH8432, My peopleH5971!2SaveH4422 your livesH5315, each of youH376,from the fierceH2740 angerH639 of the LORDH3068.46Do notH6435 let your heartH3824 grow faintH7401,and do not be afraidH3372when the rumorH8052 is heardH8085 in the landH776;for a rumorH8052 will comeH935 one yearH8141—and thenH310 anotherH8052 the next yearH8141—of violenceH2555 in the landH776and of rulerH4910 againstH5921 rulerH4910.
ThereforeH3651, beholdH2009, the daysH3117 are comingH935when I will punishH6485H5921 the idolsH6456 of BabylonH894.Her entireH3605 landH776 will suffer shameH954,and allH3605 her slainH2491 will lie fallenH5307 within herH8432.48Then heavenH8064 and earthH776 and allH3605 thatH834 is in themwill shout for joyH7442 overH5921 BabylonH894becauseH3588 the destroyersH7703 from the northH6828will comeH935 against her,”declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.49“BabylonH894 must fallH5307on account of the slainH2491 of IsraelH3478,just asH1571 the slainH2491 of allH3605 the earthH776have fallenH5307 because of BabylonH894.50You who have escapedH6412 the swordH2719,departH1980 and do notH408 lingerH5975!RememberH2142 the LORDH3068 from far awayH7350,and let JerusalemH3389 comeH5927 toH5921 mindH3824.”
“We are ashamedH954 becauseH3588 we have heardH8085 reproachH2781;disgraceH3639 has coveredH3680 our facesH6440,becauseH3588 foreignersH2114 have enteredH935H5921the holy placesH4720 of the LORD’sH3068 houseH1004.”
“ThereforeH3651, beholdH2009, the daysH3117 are comingH935,”declaresH5002 the LORDH3068,“when I will punishH6485H5921 her idolsH6456,and throughoutH3605 her landH776 the woundedH2491 will groanH602.53Even ifH3588 BabylonH894 ascendsH5927 to the heavensH8064H3588and fortifiesH1219 her loftyH4791 strongholdH5797,the destroyersH7703 I sendH854 will comeH935 against her,”declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.
“The soundH6963 of a cryH2201comes from BabylonH894,the sound of greatH1419 destructionH7667from the landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778!55ForH3588 the LORDH3068 will destroyH7703 BabylonH894;He will silenceH6H4480 her mightyH1419 voiceH6963.The wavesH1530 will roarH1993 like greatH7227 watersH4325;the tumultH7588 of their voicesH6963 will resoundH5414.
ForH3588 a destroyerH7703 is comingH935 against herH5921—againstH5921 BabylonH894.Her warriorsH1368 will be capturedH3920,and their bowsH7198 will be brokenH2865,forH3588 the LORDH3068 is a GodH410 of retributionH1578;He will repay in fullH7999.57I will make her princesH8269 and wise menH2450 drunkH7937,along with her governorsH6346, officialsH5461, and warriorsH1368.Then they will fall asleepH3462H8142 foreverH5769and notH3808 wake upH6974,”declaresH5002 the KingH4428,whose nameH8034 is the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635.
