Jeremiah 50:2-28
“AnnounceH5046 and declareH8085 to the nationsH1471; lift upH5375 a bannerH5251 and proclaim itH8085; holdH3582 nothing backH408 when you sayH559, ‘BabylonH894 is capturedH3920; BelH1078 is put to shameH954; MardukH4781 is shatteredH2865, her imagesH6091 are disgracedH954, her idolsH1544 are broken in piecesH2865.’
ForH3588 a nationH1471 from the northH6828 will comeH5927 against herH5921;itH1931 will makeH7896 her landH776 a desolationH8047.No oneH3808 will liveH1961H3427 in it;both manH120 andH5704 beastH929 will fleeH5110H1980.”
“In thoseH1992 daysH3117 and at thatH1931 timeH6256,declaresH5002 the LORDH3068,the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478H1992 and the childrenH1121 of JudahH3063will comeH935 togetherH3162, weepingH1058H1980 as they comeH1980,and will seekH1245 the LORDH3068 their GodH430.5They will askH7592 the wayH1870 to ZionH6726and turn their facesH6440 toward itH2008.They will comeH935 and joinH3867 themselves toH413 the LORDH3068in an everlastingH5769 covenantH1285that will neverH3808 be forgottenH7911.
My peopleH5971 areH1961 lostH6 sheepH6629;their shepherdsH7462 have led them astrayH8582,causing them to roamH7726 the mountainsH2022.They have wanderedH1980 from mountainH2022 toH413 hillH1389;they have forgottenH7911 their resting placeH7258.7AllH3605 who found themH4672 devoured themH398,and their enemiesH6862 saidH559,‘We are notH3808 guiltyH816,forH8478 they have sinnedH2398 against the LORDH3068, their trueH6664 pastureH5116,the LORDH3068, the hopeH4723 of their fathersH1.’
FleeH5110 from the midstH8432 of BabylonH894;departH3318 from the landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778;beH1961 like the he-goatsH6260 that leadH6440 the flockH6629.9ForH3588 beholdH2009, IH595 stir upH5782 and bringH5927 againstH5921 BabylonH894an assemblyH6951 of greatH1419 nationsH1471 from the landH776 of the northH6828.They will line upH6186 against her;fromH8033 the north she will be capturedH3920.Their arrowsH2671 will be like skilledH7919 warriorsH1368who do notH3808 returnH7725 empty-handedH7387.10ChaldeaH37781 will beH1961 plunderedH7998;allH3605 who plunder herH7997 will have their fillH7646,”declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.
“BecauseH3588 you rejoiceH8055,becauseH3588 you sing in triumphH5937—you who plunderH8154 My inheritanceH5159—becauseH3588 you frolicH6335 like a heiferH5697 treading grainH1758and neighH6670 like stallionsH47,12your motherH517 will be greatlyH3966 ashamedH954;she who bore youH3205 will be disgracedH2659.BeholdH2009, she will be the leastH319 of the nationsH1471,a wildernessH4057, a dry landH6723, and a desertH6160.
Because of the wrathH7110 of the LORDH3068,she will notH3808 be inhabitedH3427;she will becomeH1961 completelyH3605 desolateH8077.AllH3605 who passH5674 throughH5921 BabylonH894 will be horrifiedH8074and will hissH8319 atH5921 allH3605 her woundsH4347.
Line up in formationH6186H5921 aroundH5439 BabylonH894,allH3605 you who drawH1869 the bowH7198!ShootH3034 at herH413! SpareH2550 noH408H413 arrowsH2671!ForH3588 she has sinnedH2398 against the LORDH3068.15Raise a war cryH7321 against herH5921 on every sideH5439!She has thrown upH5414 her hands in surrenderH3027;her towersH803 have fallenH5307;her wallsH2346 are torn downH2040.
SinceH3588 thisH1931 is the vengeanceH5360 of the LORDH3068,take out your vengeanceH5358 upon her;asH834 she has doneH6213,do the sameH6213 to her.16Cut offH3772 the sowerH2232 from BabylonH894,and the one who wieldsH8610 the sickleH4038 at harvestH7105 timeH6256.In the face ofH6440 the oppressor’sH3238 swordH2719,eachH376 will turnH6437 toH413 his own peopleH5971,eachH376 will fleeH5127 to his own landH776.
IsraelH3478 is a scatteredH6340 flockH7716,chased awayH5080 by lionsH738.The firstH7223 to devour himH398was the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804H2088;the lastH314 to crush his bonesH6105was NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894.”
ThereforeH3651 this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478H2005, saysH559:
“I will punishH6485H413 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894H413 and his landH776asH834 I punishedH6485H413 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804.19I will returnH7725 IsraelH3478 toH413 his pastureH5116,and he will grazeH7462 on CarmelH3760 and BashanH1316;his soulH5315 will be satisfiedH7646on the hillsH2022 of EphraimH669 and GileadH1568.
In thoseH1992 daysH3117 and at thatH1931 timeH6256,declaresH5002 the LORDH3068,a search will be madeH1245 for Israel’sH3478 guiltH5771,but there will be noneH369,and for Judah’sH3063 sinsH2403,but they will notH3808 be foundH4672;forH3588 I will forgiveH5545the remnant I preserveH834H7604.
Go upH5927H5921 againstH5921 the landH776 of MerathaimH4850,and againstH413 the residentsH3427 of PekodH6489.Kill themH27172 and devote them to destructionH2763H310.3DoH6213 allH3605 thatH834 I have commanded youH6680,”declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.22“The noiseH6963 of battleH4421 is in the landH776—the noise of greatH1419 destructionH7667.23HowH349 the hammerH6360 of the wholeH3605 earthH776lies brokenH1438 and shatteredH7665!WhatH349 a horrorH8047 BabylonH894 has becomeH1961among the nationsH1471!
I laid a snareH3369 for you, O BabylonH894,and youH1571 were caughtH3920 before youH859 knew itH3808H3045.You were foundH4672H1571 and capturedH8610becauseH3588 you challengedH1624 the LORDH3068.25The LORDH3068 has openedH6605 His armoryH214and brought outH3318 His weaponsH3627 of wrathH2195,forH3588 thisH1931 is the workH4399 of the LordH136 GODH3069 of HostsH6635in the landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778.
ComeH935 against herfrom the farthest borderH7093.Break openH6605 her granariesH3965;pile her upH5549 likeH3644 mounds of grainH6194.Devote her to destructionH2763;leaveH1961 her noH408 survivorsH7611.27KillH2717 allH3605 her young bullsH6499;let them go downH3381 to the slaughterH2874.WoeH1945 to themH5921, forH3588 their dayH3117 has comeH935—the timeH6256 of their punishmentH6486.
