Jeremiah 44:20-30
20Then JeremiahH3414 saidH559 toH413 allH3605 the peopleH5971H5921, both menH1397 andH5921 womenH802, who were answeringH6030 himH853, 21“As for the incenseH6999 you burnedH7002 in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389—youH859, your fathersH1, your kingsH4428, your officialsH8269, and the peopleH5971 of the landH776—did the LORDH3068 notH3808 rememberH2142 and bringH5927 this toH5921 mindH3820? 22So the LORDH3068 couldH3201 noH3808 longerH5750 endureH5375H6440 the evilH7455 deedsH4611H6440 and detestable actsH8441 you committedH6213, and your landH776 becameH1961 a desolationH2723, a horrorH8047, and an object of cursingH7045, withoutH369 inhabitantH3427, as it is thisH2088 dayH3117. 23BecauseH6440 you burned incenseH6999 and sinnedH2398 against the LORDH3068 and did notH3808 obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 or walkH1980 inH5921H3651 His instructionH8451, His statutesH2708, and His testimoniesH5715, thisH2063 disasterH7451 has befallen youH7122, as you see todayH3117H2088.”
24Then JeremiahH3414 saidH559 toH413 allH3605 the peopleH5971H413, including allH3605 the womenH802, “HearH8085 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, all thoseH3605 of JudahH3063 whoH834 are in the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 25This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saysH559: As for youH859 and your wivesH802, you have spokenH1696 with your mouthsH6310 and fulfilledH4390 with your handsH3027 your wordsH559: ‘We will surely performH6213 our vowsH5088 thatH834 we have madeH5087 to burn incenseH6999 to the QueenH4446 of HeavenH8064 and to pour outH5258 drink offeringsH5262 to her.’ Go ahead, thenH6965, doH6965 what you have promisedH5088H6213! KeepH6213 your vowsH5088!
26NeverthelessH3651, hearH8085 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, all youH3605 people of JudahH3063 livingH3427 in EgyptH4714: BeholdH2005, I have swornH7650 by My greatH1419 nameH8034, saysH559 the LORDH3068, that neverH518 againH5750 willH1961 anyH3605 manH376 of JudahH3063 living in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 invokeH7121H6310 My nameH8034 or sayH559, ‘As surely as the LordH136 GODH3069 livesH2416.’
I am watchingH8245 over themH5921 for harmH7451 and notH3808 for goodH2896, and everyH3605 manH376 of JudahH3063 whoH834 is in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 will meet his endH8552 by swordH2719 or famineH7458, untilH5704 they are finished offH3615.
28Those who escapeH6412 the swordH2719 will returnH7725 fromH4480 EgyptH4714 to JudahH3063, fewH4962 in numberH4557, and the wholeH3605 remnantH7611 of JudahH3063 who wentH935 to dwellH8033H1481 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 will knowH3045 whoseH4310 wordH1697 will standH6965, MineH4480 or theirs!
29ThisH2063 will be a signH226 to you thatH3588 IH589 will punishH6485 youH5921 in thisH2088 placeH4725, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068, so thatH4616 you may knowH3045 thatH3588 My threatsH1697 of harmH7451 against youH5921 will surely standH6965. 30This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 saysH559: BeholdH2005, I will deliverH5414 PharaohH6547 HophraH6548 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 into the handsH3027 of his enemiesH341H3027 who seekH1245 his lifeH5315, just asH834 I deliveredH5414 ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 into the handH3027 of NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, the enemyH341 who was seekingH1245 his lifeH5315.”
