Jeremiah 35:5-10
5Then I setH5414 pitchersH1375 fullH4392 of wineH3196 and some cupsH3563 beforeH6440 the menH1121 of the houseH1004 of the RechabitesH7397, and I saidH559 to themH413, “DrinkH8354 some wineH3196.”
6“We do notH3808 drinkH8354 wineH3196,” they repliedH559, “forH3588 our forefatherH1 JonadabH31221 sonH1121 of RechabH7394 commandedH6680 usH5921H559, ‘Neither youH859 nor your descendantsH1121 are ever toH3808H5704H5769 drinkH8354 wineH3196. 7Nor are you everH3808 to buildH1129 a houseH1004 or sowH2232 seedH2233 or plantH5193 a vineyardH3754. Those things areH1961 notH3808 for you. InsteadH3588, you must liveH3427 in tentsH168 allH3605 your livesH3117, so thatH4616 you may liveH2421 a longH7227 timeH3117 inH5921H6440 the landH127 whereH834 youH859 wanderH1481H8033.’
8And we have obeyedH8085 the voiceH6963 of our forefatherH1 JonadabH3082 sonH1121 of RechabH7394 in allH3605 he commanded usH6680. So we have notH1115 drunkH8354 wineH3196 allH3605 our livesH3117—neither weH587 nor our wivesH802 nor our sonsH1121 and daughtersH1323. 9Nor have weH1115 builtH1129 housesH1004 in which to liveH3427, and we have not ownedH3808H1961 any vineyardsH3754 or fieldsH7704 or cropsH2233. 10But we have livedH3427 in tentsH168 and have obeyedH8085 and doneH6213 exactly asH3605 our forefatherH1 JonadabH3122 commanded usH6680.
