Jeremiah 27
The Nations to Submit to Nebuchadnezzar
1In the beginningH7225 of the reignH4467 of 12ZedekiahH6667 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, thisH2088 wordH1697 cameH1961 to JeremiahH3414 from the LordH3068, sayingH559-- 2thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 to me-MakeH6213 for yourself 3bondsH4147 and 4yokesH4133 and putH5414 them on your neckH6677, 3and sendH7971 5word to the kingH4428 of 6EdomH112, to the kingH4428 of 7MoabH4124, to the kingH4428 of the sonsH1121 of 8AmmonH5983, to the kingH4428 of 9TyreH6865 and to the kingH4428 of 10SidonH6721 11by the messengersH4397 who comeH935 to JerusalemH3389 to ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063. 4CommandH6680 them to go to their mastersH113, sayingH559, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, thusH3541 you shall sayH559 to your mastersH113, 5“12I have madeH6213 the earthH776, the menH120 and the beastsH929 whichH834 are on the faceH6440 of the earthH776 13by My greatH1419 powerH3581 and by My outstretchedH5186 armH2220, and I will 14giveH5414 it to the one whoH834 is 15pleasingH3474 in My sightH5869. 6NowH6258 I 16have givenH5414 allH3605 theseH428 landsH776 into the handH3027 of NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, 17My servantH5650, and I have givenH5414 him alsoH1571 the 18wildH2421 animalsH2421 of the fieldH7704 to serveH5647 him. 719AllH3605 the nationsH1471 shall serveH5647 him and his sonH1121 and his grandsonH1121 20untilH5704 the timeH6256 of his own landH776 comesH935; then 21manyH7227 nationsH1471 and greatH1419 kingsH4428 will 22makeH5647 him their servantH5647.
8“It will be, that the nationH1471 or the kingdomH4467 whichH834 23will not serveH5647 him, NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and whichH834 will not putH5414 its neckH6677 under the yokeH5923 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, I will punishH6485 that nationH1471 with the 24swordH2719, with famineH7458 and with pestilenceH1698,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “untilH5704 I have destroyedH8552 25it by his handH3027. 9But as for you, 26do not listenH8085 to your prophetsH5030, your divinersH7080, your 27dreamersH2472, your soothsayersH6049 or your sorcerersH3786 whoH834 speakH559 to you, sayingH559, ‘You will not serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894.’ 10For they prophesyH5012 a 28lieH8267 to you in orderH4616 to 29removeH7368 you farH7368 from your landH127; and I will driveH5080 you out and you will perishH6. 11But the nationH1471 whichH834 will 30bringH935 its neckH6677 under the yokeH5923 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 and serveH5647 him, I will 31let remainH5117 on its landH127,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “and they will tillH5647 it and dwellH3427 in it.”’”
12I spokeH1696 wordsH1697 like allH3605 theseH428 to 32ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, sayingH559, “BringH935 your necksH6677 under the yokeH5923 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 and serveH5647 him and his peopleH5971, and liveH2421! 13WhyH4100 will you 33dieH4191, you and your peopleH5971, by the swordH2719, famineH7458 and pestilenceH1698, as the LordH3068 has spokenH1696 to that nationH1471 whichH834 will not serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894? 14So 34do not listenH8085 to the wordsH1697 of the prophetsH5030 who speakH559 to you, sayingH559, ‘You will not serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894,’ for they prophesyH5012 a 35lieH8267 to you; 15for 36I have not sentH7971 them,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “but they 37prophesyH5012 falselyH8267 in My nameH8034, in orderH4616 that I may 38driveH5080 you out and that you may perishH6, 39you and the prophetsH5030 who prophesyH5012 to you.”
16Then I spokeH1696 to the priestsH3548 and to allH3605 thisH2088 peopleH5971, sayingH559, “ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068: Do not listenH8085 to the wordsH1697 of your prophetsH5030 who prophesyH5012 to you, sayingH559, ‘BeholdH2009, the 40vesselsH3627 of the Lord’sH3068 houseH1004 will nowH6258 shortlyH4120 be broughtH7725 againH7725 from BabylonH894’; for they are prophesyingH5012 a 41lieH8267 to you. 17Do not listenH8085 to them; serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and liveH2421! WhyH4100 should thisH2088 cityH5892 42becomeH1961 a ruinH2723? 18But 43ifH518 they are prophetsH5030, and ifH518 the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 is with them, let them nowH4994 44entreatH6293 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 that the vesselsH3627 which are leftH3498 in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068, in the houseH1004 of the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 and in JerusalemH3389 may not goH935 to BabylonH894. 19For thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 concerningH413 the 45pillarsH5982, concerningH5921 the seaH3220, concerningH5921 the standsH4350 and concerningH5921 the restH3499 of the vesselsH3627 that are leftH3498 in thisH2088 cityH5892, 20whichH834 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 did not takeH3947 when he 46carriedH1540 into exileH1540 JeconiahH3204 the sonH1121 of JehoiakimH3079, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, from JerusalemH3389 to BabylonH894, and allH3605 the noblesH2715 of JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389. 21YesH3588, thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, concerningH5921 the vesselsH3627 that are leftH3498 in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 and in the houseH1004 of the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 and in JerusalemH3389, 22‘They will be 47carriedH935 to BabylonH894 and they will be thereH8033 untilH5704 the 48dayH3117 I visitH6485 them,’ declaresH5002 the LordH3068. ‘Then I will 49bringH5927 them 50backH5927 and restoreH7725 them to thisH2088 placeH4725.’”
