Isaiah’s Vision
1In the yearH8141 of 1KingH4428 Uzziah’sH5818 deathH4194 2I sawH7200 the LordH136 sittingH3427 on a throneH3678, loftyH7311 and exaltedH5375, with the trainH7757 ofH7757 His robeH7757 fillingH4390 the templeH1964. 2SeraphimH8314 were standingH5975 aboveH4605 Him, 3eachH259 having sixH8337 wingsH3671: with twoH8147 each coveredH3680 his faceH6440, and with twoH8147 each coveredH3680 his feetH7272, and with twoH8147 each flewH5774. 3And oneH2088 calledH7121 outH7121 to anotherH2088 and saidH559, “4HolyH6918, HolyH6918, HolyH6918, is the LordH3068 of armiesH6635. The 56wholeH3605 earthH776 is fullH4393 of His gloryH3519.” 4And the 7foundationsH522 of the thresholdsH5592 trembledH5128 at the voiceH6963 of him who calledH7121 outH7121, while the 89templeH1004 was fillingH4390 with smokeH6227. 5Then I saidH559, “10WoeH188 to me, for I am ruinedH1820! BecauseH3588 I am a manH376 of 11uncleanH2931 lipsH8193, And I liveH3427 amongH8432 a 12peopleH5971 of uncleanH2931 lipsH8193; For my eyesH5869 have seenH7200 the 13KingH4428, the LordH3068 of armiesH6635.”
6Then oneH259 of the seraphimH8314 flewH5774 to me with a burningH7531 coalH7531 in his handH3027, which he had takenH3947 from the 14altarH4196 with tongsH4457. 7He 15touchedH5060 my mouthH6310 with it and saidH559, “BeholdH2009, thisH2088 has touchedH5060 your lipsH8193; and 16your guiltH5771 is takenH5493 awayH5493 and atonementH3722 is madeH3722 for your sinH2403.”
Isaiah’s Commission
8Then I heardH8085 the 17voiceH6963 of the LordH136, sayingH559, “WhomH4310 shall I sendH7971, and whoH4310 will goH1980 for Us?” Then 18I saidH559, “HereH2009 am I. SendH7971 me!” 9And He saidH559, “GoH1980, and tellH559 thisH2088 peopleH5971: ‘KeepH8085 on 19listeningH8085, but do not understandH995; And keepH7200 on lookingH7200, but do not gainH3045 knowledgeH3045.’1020MakeH8080 the heartsH3820 of thisH2088 peopleH5971 2122insensitiveH8080, Their earsH241 23dullH3513, And their eyesH5869 24blindH8173, 25SoH6435 thatH6435 they will notH6435 seeH7200 with their eyesH5869, HearH8085 with their earsH241, UnderstandH995 with their heartsH3824, And returnH7725 and be healedH7495.” 11Then I saidH559, “LordH136, 26howH4970 longH5704H4970?” And He answeredH559, “UntilH5704H834H518 27citiesH5892 are devastatedH7582 and withoutH369 inhabitantH3427, HousesH1004 are withoutH369 peopleH120 And the landH127 is utterlyH8077 desolateH8077,12The LordH3068 has 28completelyH7368 removedH7368 peopleH120, And there 29areH7231 manyH7231 30forsakenH5805 placesH5805 in the midstH7130 of the landH776.13Yet there will stillH5750 be a tenthH6224 portionH6224 in it, And it will againH7725 be subject to burningH1197, Like a terebinthH424 or an 31oakH437 WhoseH834 stumpH4676 remains whenH834 it is cutH7995 downH7995. The 32holyH6944 seedH2233 is its stumpH4676.”
