1“As for youוְאַתָּ֨הve.'a.TahH859,sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָדָ֜ם'a.DamH120,takeקַח־kach-H3947a sharpחַדָּ֗הcha.DahH2299swordחֶ֣רֶבChe.revH2719,use itתִּקָּחֶ֣נָּהti.ka.Che.nahH3947as a barber’sהַגַּלָּבִים֙ha.ga.la.VimH1532razorתַּ֤עַרTa.'arH8593,and shaveוְהַעֲבַרְתָּ֥ עַל־ve.ha.'a.var.Ta 'al-H5674H5921your headרֹאשְׁךָ֖ וְעַל־ro.she.Kha ve.'al-H7218H5921and beardזְקָנֶ֑ךָze.ka.Ne.chaH2206.Then takeוְלָקַחְתָּ֥ve.la.kach.TaH3947a set of scalesמֹאזְנֵ֥י מִשְׁקָ֖לmoz.Nei mish.KalH3976H4948and divide the hairוְחִלַּקְתָּֽם׃ve.chi.lak.TamH2505.
2When the daysיְמֵ֣יye.MeiH3117of the siegeהַמָּצ֑וֹרha.ma.TzorH4692have endedכִּמְלֹ֖אתkim.LotH4390,you are to burn upתַּבְעִיר֙tav.'IrH1197a thirdשְׁלִשִׁ֗ית בָּא֤וּרshe.li.Shit ba.'UrH7992H217of the hairinsideבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892;you are also to takeוְלָֽקַחְתָּ֣ve.la.kach.TaH3947אֶת־'et-H853a thirdהַשְּׁלִשִׁ֗יתha.she.li.ShitH7992and slashתַּכֶּ֤הta.KehH5221it with the swordבַחֶ֙רֶב֙va.Che.revH2719all around the cityסְבִ֣יבוֹתֶ֔יהָse.Vi.vo.Tei.haH5439;and you are to scatterתִּזְרֶ֣הtiz.RehH2219a thirdוְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית֙ve.ha.she.li.ShitH7992to the windלָר֔וּחַla.Ru.achH7307.For I will unleashאָרִ֥יק'a.RikH7324a swordוְחֶ֖רֶבve.Che.revH2719behind themאַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃'a.cha.rei.HemH310.
4Againע֣וֹדodH5750,takeתִּקָּ֔חti.KachH3947a few of these,throwוְהִשְׁלַכְתָּ֤ve.hish.lakh.TaH7993themאוֹתָם֙'o.TamH853intoאֶל־ תּ֣וֹךְ'el- TokhH413H8432the fireהָאֵ֔שׁha.'EshH784,and burnוְשָׂרַפְתָּ֥ve.sa.raf.TaH8313themאֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853בָּאֵ֑שׁba.'EshH784.From thereמִמֶּ֥נּוּmi.Me.nuH4480a fireאֵ֖שׁ'eshH784will spreadתֵצֵא־te.tze'-H3318toאֶל־'el-H413the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.
5This is whatכֹּ֤הkohH3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהֹוִ֔הYah.wehH3069saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559: ‘Thisזֹ֚אתzotH2063isJerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389,which I have setשַׂמְתִּ֑יהָsam.Ti.haH7760in the centerבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471,with countriesאֲרָצֽוֹת׃'a.ra.TzotH776all around herוּסְבִיבוֹתֶ֖יהָu.se.vi.vo.Tei.haH5439.
6But she has rebelledוַתֶּ֨מֶרva.Te.merH4784אֶת־'et-H853against My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֤יmish.pa.TaiH4941more wickedlyלְרִשְׁעָה֙le.rish.'AhH7564thanמִן־min-H4480the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471,andוְאֶ֨ת־ve.'EtH853against My statutesחֻקּוֹתַ֔יchu.ko.TaiH2708worse thanמִן־min-H4480the countriesהָאֲרָצ֖וֹתha.'a.ra.TzotH776אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834around herסְבִיבוֹתֶ֑יהָse.vi.vo.Tei.haH5439.Forכִּ֤יkiH3588her peoplehave rejectedמָאָ֔סוּma.'A.suH3988My ordinancesבְמִשְׁפָּטַי֙ve.mish.pa.TaiH4941and have notלֹא־lo'-H3808walkedהָלְכ֥וּha.le.KhuH1980inMy statutesוְחֻקּוֹתַ֖יve.chu.ko.TaiH2708.’
7Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651this is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִ֗הYah.wehH3069saysאָמַ֣ר׀'a.MarH559יַ֤עַןYa.'anH3282: ‘You have been more insubordinateהֲמָנְכֶם֙ha.ma.ne.KhemH1995thanמִן־min-H4480the nationsהַגּוֹיִם֙ha.go.YimH1471אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834around youסְבִיבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֔םse.vi.vo.tei.KhemH5439;you have notלֹ֣אlo'H3808walkedהֲלַכְתֶּ֔םha.lakh.TemH1980וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853in My statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַי֙be.chu.ko.TaiH2708orלֹ֣אlo'H3808keptעֲשִׂיתֶ֑ם'a.si.TemH6213My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֖יmish.pa.TaiH4941,norלֹ֥אlo'H3808have you even conformedעֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃ ס'a.si.TemH6213to the ordinancesוּֽכְמִשְׁפְּטֵ֧יu.khe.mish.pe.TeiH4941of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֛םha.go.YimH1471אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834around youסְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶ֖םse.vi.vo.tei.KhemH5439.’
8Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651this is whatכֹּ֤הkohH3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִ֔הYah.wehH3069saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559: ‘Beholdהִנְנִ֥יhi.NiH2005,I Myself amגַּם־ אָ֑נִיgam- 'A.niH589H1571against youעָלַ֖יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921, Jerusalem,and I will executeוְעָשִׂ֧יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213judgmentsמִשְׁפָּטִ֖יםmish.pa.TimH4941among youבְתוֹכֵ֛ךְve.to.KhekhH8432in the sightלְעֵינֵ֥יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the nationsהַגּוֹיִֽם׃ha.go.YimH1471.
9Because ofיַ֖עַןYa.'anH3282allכָּל־kol-H3605your abominationsתּוֹעֲבֹתָֽיִךְ׃ סto.'a.vo.Ta.yikhH8441,I will doוְעָשִׂ֣יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213to youאֵ֚ת'etH853whatאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I have neverלֹֽא־lo'-H3808done beforeעָשִׂ֔יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213וְאֵ֛תve.'EtH853andאֲשֶֽׁר־'a.Sher-H834will neverלֹֽא־lo'-H3808doאֶעֱשֶׂ֥ה כָמֹ֖הוּ'e.'e.Seh kha.Mo.huH6213H3644againע֑וֹדodH5750.
10As a resultלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651,fathersאָב֞וֹת'a.VotH1among youבְּתוֹכֵ֔ךְbe.to.KhekhH8432will eatיֹאכְל֤וּyo.khe.LuH398their sonsבָנִים֙va.NimH1121,and sonsוּבָנִ֖יםu.va.NimH1121will eatיֹאכְל֣וּyo.khe.LuH398their fathersאֲבוֹתָ֑ם'a.vo.TamH1.I will executeוְעָשִׂ֤יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213judgmentsשְׁפָטִ֔יםshe.fa.TimH8201against youand scatterוְזֵרִיתִ֥יve.ze.ri.TiH2219אֶת־'et-H853allכָּל־kol-H3605your remnantשְׁאֵרִיתֵ֖ךְshe.'e.ri.TekhH7611to everyלְכָל־le.kholH3605windרֽוּחַ׃ פRu.achH7307.’
Famine, Sword, and Dispersion
11Thereforeלָכֵ֣ןla.KhenH3651as surely as Iאָ֗נִי'A.niH589liveחַי־chai-H2416,declaresנְאֻם֮ne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִה֒ אִם־Yah.weh 'im-H3069H518לֹ֗אLo'H3808,becauseיַ֚עַןYa.'anH3282אֶת־'et-H853you have defiledטִמֵּ֔אתti.MetH2930My sanctuaryמִקְדָּשִׁ֣יmik.da.ShiH4720with allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605your detestable idolsשִׁקּוּצַ֖יִךְ וּבְכָל־shi.ku.Tza.yikh u.ve.Khol-H8251H3605and abominationsתּוֹעֲבֹתָ֑יִךְto.'a.vo.Ta.yikhH8441,I Myselfוְגַם־ אֲנִ֤יve.gam- 'a.NiH1571H589will withdraw My favorאֶגְרַע֙'eg.Ra'H1639;I will not look upon youעֵינִ֔י'ei.NiH5869וְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808with pityתָח֣וֹסta.ChosH2347, norוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571will Iאֲנִ֖י לֹ֥א'a.Ni lo'H589H3808spare youאֶחְמֽוֹל׃'ech.MolH2550.
12A thirdשְׁלִשִׁתֵ֞יךְshe.li.shi.TeikhH7992of your people will dieיָמ֗וּתוּya.Mu.tuH4191by plagueבַּדֶּ֣בֶרba.De.verH1698or be consumedיִכְל֣וּyikh.LuH3615by famineוּבָֽרָעָב֙u.va.ra.'AvH7458within youבְתוֹכֵ֔ךְve.to.KhekhH8432,a thirdוְהַ֨שְּׁלִשִׁ֔יתve.Ha.she.li.ShitH7992will fallיִפְּל֣וּyi.pe.LuH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֖רֶבba.Che.revH2719outsideסְבִיבוֹתָ֑יִךְse.vi.vo.Ta.yikhH5439your walls,and a thirdוְהַשְּׁלִישִׁית֙ve.ha.she.li.ShitH7992I will scatterאֱזָרֶ֔ה'e.za.RehH2219to everyלְכָל־le.kholH3605windר֣וּחַRu.achH7307and unleashאָרִ֥יק'a.RikH7324a swordוְחֶ֖רֶבve.Che.revH2719behind themאַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃'a.cha.rei.HemH310.
13And when My angerאַפִּ֗י'a.PiH639is spentוְכָלָ֣הve.kha.LahH3615and I have ventedוַהֲנִחוֹתִ֧יva.ha.ni.cho.TiH5117My wrathחֲמָתִ֛יcha.ma.TiH2534against them,I will be appeasedוְהִנֶּחָ֑מְתִּיve.hi.ne.Cha.me.tiH5162.And when I have spentבְּכַלּוֹתִ֥יbe.kha.lo.TiH3615My wrathחֲמָתִ֖יcha.ma.TiH2534on them,they will knowוְֽיָדְע֞וּve.ya.de.'UH3045thatכִּי־ki-H3588Iאֲנִ֣י'a.NiH589,the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,in My zealבְּקִנְאָתִ֔יbe.kin.'a.TiH7068have spokenדִּבַּ֙רְתִּי֙di.Bar.tiH1696.
14I will makeוְאֶתְּנֵךְ֙ve.'e.te.neKhH5414you a ruinלְחָרְבָּ֣הle.cha.re.BahH2723and a disgraceוּלְחֶרְפָּ֔הu.le.cher.PahH2781among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִ֖םba.go.YimH1471אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834around youסְבִיבוֹתָ֑יִךְse.vi.vo.Ta.yikhH5439,in the sightלְעֵינֵ֖יle.'ei.NeiH5869of allכָּל־kol-H3605who pass byעוֹבֵֽר׃o.VerH5674.
15So you will beוְֽהָ֨יְתָ֜הve.Ha.ye.TahH1961a reproachחֶרְפָּ֤הcher.PahH2781and a tauntוּגְדוּפָה֙u.ge.du.FahH1422,a warningמוּסָ֣רmu.SarH4148and a horrorוּמְשַׁמָּ֔הu.me.sha.MahH4923to the nationsלַגּוֹיִ֖םla.go.YimH1471אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834around youסְבִיבוֹתָ֑יִךְse.vi.vo.Ta.yikhH5439,when I executeבַּעֲשׂוֹתִי֩ba.'a.so.TiH6213judgmentsשְׁפָטִ֜יםshe.fa.TimH8201against youin angerבְּאַ֤ףbe.'AfH639,wrathוּבְחֵמָה֙u.ve.che.MahH2534,and ragingחֵמָ֔הche.MahH2534furyוּבְתֹכְח֣וֹתu.ve.to.khe.ChotH8433.Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589,the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,have spokenדִּבַּֽרְתִּי׃di.Bar.tiH1696.
16When I showerבְּֽשַׁלְּחִ֡יbe.sha.le.ChiH7971youאֶת־'et-H853with the deadlyהָרָעִ֤יםha.ra.'ImH7451arrowsחִצֵּי֩chi.TzeiH2671of famineהָרָעָ֨בha.ra.'AvH7458andאֲשֶׁ֣ר הָי֣וּ'a.Sher ha.YuH834H1961destructionלְמַשְׁחִ֔יתle.mash.ChitH4889thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I will sendאֲשַׁלַּ֥ח'a.sha.LachH7971אוֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853to destroy youלְשַֽׁחֶתְכֶ֑םle.sha.chet.KhemH7843,I will intensifyאֹסֵ֣ף'o.SefH3254the famineוְרָעָב֙ve.ra.'AvH7458against youעֲלֵיכֶ֔ם'a.lei.KhemH5921and cut offוְשָׁבַרְתִּ֥יve.sha.var.TiH7665yoursupplyמַטֵּה־ma.teh-H4294of foodלָֽחֶם׃La.chemH3899.
17I will sendוְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֣יve.shi.lach.TiH7971famineרָעָ֞בra.'AvH7458and wildרָעָה֙ra.'AhH7451beastsוְחַיָּ֤הve.chai.YahH2416against youעֲ֠לֵיכֶם'A.lei.khemH5921,and they will leave you childlessוְשִׁכְּלֻ֔ךְve.shi.ke.LukhH7921.Plagueוְדֶ֥בֶרve.De.verH1698and bloodshedוָדָ֖םva.DamH1818will sweepיַעֲבָר־ya.'a.vor-H5674through you,and I will bringאָבִ֣יא'a.Vi'H935a swordוְחֶ֙רֶב֙ve.Che.revH2719against youעָלַ֔יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921.Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589,the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,have spokenדִּבַּֽרְתִּי׃ פdi.Bar.tiH1696.”
