2So the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971contendedוַיָּ֤רֶבvai.Ya.revH7378withעִם־'im-H5973Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “Giveתְּנוּ־te.nu-H5414uswaterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325to drinkוְנִשְׁתֶּ֑הve.nish.TehH8354.” “Whyמַה־mah-H4100do you contendתְּרִיבוּן֙te.ri.VunH7378with meעִמָּדִ֔י'i.ma.DiH5978?”Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872repliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “Whyמַה־mah-H4100do you testתְּנַסּ֖וּןte.na.SunH5254אֶת־'et-H853the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068?”
3But the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971thirstedוַיִּצְמָ֨אvai.yitz.Ma'H6770for waterלַמַּ֔יִםla.Ma.yimH4325thereשָׁ֤םshamH8033,and they grumbledוַיָּ֥לֶן הָעָ֖םvai.Ya.len ha.'AmH3885H5971againstעַל־'al-H5921Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶרmo.Sheh vai.Yo.merH4872H559: “Whyלָ֤מָּהLa.mahH4100זֶּה֙zehH2088have you brought usהֶעֱלִיתָ֣נוּhe.'e.li.Ta.nuH5927out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714—to makeלְהָמִ֥יתle.ha.MitH4191usאֹתִ֛י'o.TiH853andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853our childrenבָּנַ֥יba.NaiH1121וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and livestockמִקְנַ֖יmik.NaiH4735die of thirstבַּצָּמָֽא׃ba.tza.Ma'H6772?”
4Then Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872cried outוַיִּצְעַ֤קvai.yitz.'AkH6817toאֶל־'el-H413the LORDיְהוָ֣ה לֵאמֹ֔רYah.weh le.MorH3068H559, “Whatמָ֥הmahH4100should I doאֶעֱשֶׂ֖ה'e.'e.SehH6213with theseהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971?A little moreע֥וֹד מְעַ֖טod me.'AtH5750H4592and they will stone meוּסְקָלֻֽנִי׃u.se.ka.Lu.niH5619!”
