2Therefore the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971quarreledוַיָּ֤רֶבvai.Ya.revH7378with Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872and saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “Giveתְּנוּ־te.nu-H5414us waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325that we may drinkוְנִשְׁתֶּ֑הve.nish.TehH8354.”And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Whyמַה־mah-H4100do you quarrelתְּרִיבוּן֙te.ri.VunH7378with me?Whyמַה־mah-H4100do you testתְּנַסּ֖וּןte.na.SunH5254the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068?”
3But the peopleH5971thirstedוַיִּצְמָ֨אvai.yitz.Ma'H6770thereשָׁ֤םshamH8033for waterלַמַּ֔יִםla.Ma.yimH4325; and theygrumbledוַיָּ֥לֶןvai.Ya.lenH3885againstעַל־'al-H5921Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Whyלָ֤מָּהLa.mahH4100,nowזֶּה֙zehH2088,have you broughtהֶעֱלִיתָ֣נוּhe.'e.li.Ta.nuH5927us up from Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,to killלְהָמִ֥יתle.ha.MitH4191us andour childrenבָּנַ֥יba.NaiH1121andour livestockמִקְנַ֖יmik.NaiH4735with thirstבַּצָּמָֽא׃ba.tza.Ma'H6772?”
4So Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872criedוַיִּצְעַ֤קvai.yitz.'AkH6817out to the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Whatמָ֥הmahH4100shall I doאֶעֱשֶׂ֖ה'e.'e.SehH6213to thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971? Alittleמְעַ֖טme.'AtH4592moreע֥וֹדodH5750and they will stoneוּסְקָלֻֽנִי׃u.se.ka.Lu.niH5619me.”
