Luke 14:18-35
18And they all with oneG1520 consent beganG757 to make excuse. The firstG4413 saidG3004 unto him, I have boughtG59 a fieldG68, and I must needs goG1831 out and seeG3708 it; I pray thee have me excused. 19And another saidG3004, I have boughtG59 fiveG4002 yoke of oxenG1016, and I goG4198 to prove them; I pray thee have me excused. 20And another saidG3004, I have marriedG1060 a wifeG1135, and therefore I cannot comeG2064. 21And the servantG1401 cameG1831, and toldG3004 his lordG2962 these thingsG3778. Then the masterG2962 of the houseG3617 being angryG3710 saidG3004 to his servantG1401, GoG1831 out quickly into the streetsG4505 and lanes of the cityG4172, and bringG1521 in hither the poorG4434 and maimed and blindG5185 and lameG5560. 22And the servantG1401 saidG3004, LordG2962, what thou didst command isG1510 done, and yet there isG1510 room. 23And the lordG2962 saidG3004 unto the servantG1401, GoG1831 out into the highwaysG3598 and hedges, and constrain them to comeG1831 in, that my houseG3624 may be filledG1072. 24For I sayG3004 unto you, that noneG3762 of those menG435 that were bidden shall tasteG1089 of my supperG1173.
25NowG1161 there went with him greatG4183 multitudesG3793: and he turnedG4762, and saidG3004 unto them, 26If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his ownG1438 fatherG3962, and motherG3384, and wifeG1135, and childrenG5043, and brethren, and sistersG79, yea, and his ownG1438 lifeG5590 alsoG2532, he cannot beG1510 my discipleG3101. 27Whosoever doth not bearG941 his ownG1438 crossG4716, and comeG2064 after me, cannot beG1510 my discipleG3101. 28For which of you, desiringG2309 to buildG3618 a towerG4444, doth not firstG4413 sitG2523 downG2523 and count the cost, whether he have wherewith to complete it? 29LestG3361 haply, when he hath laidG5087 a foundationG2310, and is not ableG2480 to finishG1615, all that behold beginG757 to mockG1702 him, 30sayingG3004, This manG444 beganG757 to buildG3618, and was not ableG2480 to finishG1615. 31Or what kingG935, as he goeth to encounter another kingG935 in warG4171, will not sitG2523 down firstG4413 and take counsel whether he isG1510 ableG1415 with tenG1176 thousandG5505 to meet him that cometh against him with twentyG1501 thousandG5505? 32Or else, while the other isG1510 yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and asketh conditions of peaceG1515. 33So thereforeG3767 whosoever he beG1510 of you that renounceth not all that he hath, he cannot beG1510 my discipleG3101. 34SaltG217 thereforeG3767 is goodG2570: but if evenG2532 the saltG217 have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be seasonedG741? 35It isG1510 fit neither for the landG1093 nor for the dunghill: men castG906 it out. He that hath earsG3775 to hearG191, let him hearG191.
