1 Samuel 2:12-17
12Now the sonsH1121 of EliH5941 were base men; they knewH3045 not Jehovah. 13And the customH4941 of the priestsH3548 with the peopleH5971 was, that, when any manH376 offeredH2076 sacrificeH2077, the priest’sH3548 servantH5288 cameH935, while the fleshH1320 was boilingH1310, with a flesh-hook of threeH7969 teethH8127 in his handH3027; 14and he struckH5221 it into the pan, or kettle, or caldronH7037, or potH6517; all that the flesh-hook broughtH935 up the priestH3548 tookH3947 therewith. So they did in ShilohH7887 unto all the Israelites that cameH935 thither. 15Yea, before they burnt the fatH2459, the priest’sH3548 servantH5288 cameH935, and saidH559 to the manH376 that sacrificedH2076, GiveH5414 fleshH1320 to roast for the priestH3548; for he will not have boiledH1310 fleshH1320 of thee, but raw. 16And if the manH376 saidH559 unto him, They will surely burn the fatH2459 first, and then takeH3947 as much as thy soulH5315 desireth; then he would sayH559, Nay, but thou shalt giveH5414 it me nowH6258: and if not, I will takeH3947 it by forceH2394. 17And the sinH2403 of the youngH5288 menH376 wasH1961 veryH3966 greatH1419 before Jehovah; for the menH376 despised the offeringH4503 of Jehovah.
