1 John 5

1Whosoever believeth that JesusG2424 isG1510 the ChristG5547 isG1510 begottenG1080 of GodG2316: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him alsoG2532 that isG1510 begottenG1080 of him. 2Hereby we knowG1097 that we loveG25 the childrenG5043 of GodG2316, whenG3752 we loveG25 GodG2316 and do his commandmentsG1785. 3For this isG1510 the loveG26 of GodG2316, that we keepG5083 his commandmentsG1785: and his commandmentsG1785 areG1510 not grievous. 4For whatsoever isG1510 begottenG1080 of GodG2316 overcometh the worldG2889: and this isG1510 the victory that hath overcomeG3528 the worldG2889, evenG2532 our faithG4102. 5And who isG1510 he that overcometh the worldG2889, but he that believeth that JesusG2424 isG1510 the SonG5207 of GodG2316? 6This isG1510 he that cameG2064 by waterG5204 and bloodG129, evenG2532 JesusG2424 ChristG5547; not with the waterG5204 onlyG3440, but with the waterG5204 and with the bloodG129. 7And it isG1510 the Spirit that beareth witnessG3140, because the Spirit isG1510 the truth. 8For there areG1510 threeG5140 who bear witness, the SpiritG4151, and the waterG5204, and the bloodG129: and the threeG5140 agree in oneG1520. 9If we receiveG2983 the witnessG3140 of menG444, the witnessG3140 of GodG2316 isG1510 greaterG3173: for the witnessG3140 of GodG2316 isG1510 this, that he hath borne witnessG3140 concerningG4012 his SonG5207. 10He that believeth on the SonG5207 of GodG2316 hath the witnessG3140 in him: he that believeth not GodG2316 hath madeG4160 him a liarG5583; because he hath not believedG4100 in the witnessG3140 that GodG2316 hath borne concerningG4012 his SonG5207. 11And the witnessG3141 isG1510 this, that GodG2316 gaveG1325 unto us eternalG166 lifeG2222, and this lifeG2222 isG1510 in his SonG5207. 12He that hath the SonG5207 hath the lifeG2222; he that hath not the SonG5207 of GodG2316 hath not the lifeG2222.

13These thingsG3778 have I writtenG1125 unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternalG166 lifeG2222, even unto you that believeG4100 on the nameG3686 of the SonG5207 of GodG2316. 14And this isG1510 the boldnessG3954 which we have toward him, that, if we askG154 anythingG5100 accordingG2596 to his will, he heareth us: 15and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we askG154, we know that we have the petitions which we have askedG154 of him. 16If any man seeG3708 his brotherG80 sinningG264 a sinG266 not unto deathG2288, he shall askG154, and God will giveG1325 him lifeG2222 for them that sinG266 not unto deathG2288. 18We know that whosoever is begottenG1080 of GodG2316 sinneth not; but he that was begottenG1080 of GodG2316 keepeth himself, and the evilG4190 oneG3588 toucheth him not. 19We know that we areG1510 of GodG2316, and the wholeG3650 worldG2889 lieth in the evilG4190 oneG3588. 20And we knowG1097 that the SonG5207 of GodG2316 isG1510 comeG2240, and hath givenG1325 us an understandingG1271, that we knowG1097 him that isG1510 trueG228, and we areG1510 in him that isG1510 trueG228, evenG2532 in his SonG5207 JesusG2424 ChristG5547. This isG1510 the trueG228 GodG2316, and eternalG166 lifeG2222. 21My littleG5040 children, guardG5442 yourselves from idolsG1497.
