Psalms 41
The Psalmist in Sickness Complains of Enemies and False Friends.
For the music director. A Psalm of David.
1BlessedH835 is one who 1considersH7919 the 2helplessH1800; The LordH3068 will saveH4422 him 3on a dayH3117 of 4troubleH7463.2The LordH3068 will 5protectH8104 him and keepH2421 him aliveH2421, And he will be calledH833 67blessedH833 upon the earthH776; And 8do not turnH5414 him overH5414 to the desireH5315 of his enemiesH340.3The LordH3068 will sustainH5582 him upon his sickbedH1741H6210; In his illnessH2483, You 9restoreH2015 him to healthH3605H4904.
4As for me, I saidH559, “LordH3068, beH2603 graciousH2603 to me; 10HealH7495 my soulH5315, for 11I have sinnedH2398 against You.”5My enemiesH340 12speakH559 evilH7451 against me, “WhenH4970 will he dieH4191, and his nameH8034 perishH6?”6And 13whenH518 he comesH935 to seeH7200 me, he 14speaksH1696 15emptyH7723 wordsH7723; His heartH3820 gathersH6908 wickednessH205 to itself; When he goesH3318 outsideH2351, he tellsH1696 it.7AllH3605 who hateH8130 me whisperH3907 togetherH3162 againstH5921 me; They 16plotH2803 my harmH7463 againstH5921 me, saying,8“A wickedH1100 thingH1697 is pouredH3332 outH3332 17upon him, So that whenH834 he liesH7901 downH7901, he will 18not getH6965 upH6965 againH3254.”9EvenH1571 my 1920closeH7965 friendH376H7965 in whomH834 I trustedH982, Who ateH398 my breadH3899, Has liftedH1431 upH1431 his heelH6119 againstH5921 me.
10But You, LordH3068, beH2603 graciousH2603 to me and 21raiseH6965 me upH6965, That I may repayH7999 them.11By thisH2088 I knowH3045 that 22You are pleasedH2654 with me, BecauseH3588 23my enemyH340 does not shoutH7321 inH7321 triumphH7321 overH5921 me.12As for me, 24You upholdH8551 me in my integrityH8537, And You placeH5324 me 25in Your presenceH6440 foreverH5769.
