Revised Version 1895

Psalms 31:9-18

Have mercy uponH3027 meH5462, O LORD, for I am in distressH3027: mine eye wasteth away with grief, yea, my soul and my body.
For my lifeH5315 is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing: my strengthH5315 faileth becauseH3588 of mine iniquity, and my bones are wastedH6244 awayH6244.
BecauseH3588 of allH3615 mine adversaries I am become a reproach, yeaH3588, unto my neighbours exceedingly, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see meH3615 without fled from meH3615.
I am forgotten as a dead manH3605 outH4480 of mindH3045: I am like a broken vessel.
For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side: whileH1961 they tookH1961 counsel together against meH7911, they devised to takeH1961 away my lifeH4191.
But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I saidH8085, Thou art my God.
My times are in thy hand: deliver meH5921 from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute meH5921.
MakeH3027 thy face to shine uponH3027 thy servant: saveH5337 meH7291 in thy lovingkindness.
Let meH6440 notH3467 he ashamed, O LORDH2617; for I have called uponH5921 thee: let the wicked be ashamed, let them be silent in Sheol.
LetH408 the lying lips be dumb; which speak against the righteous insolently, with pride and contempt.
