2sayingλέγων·legōnG3004,“In a certainG5100cityπόλειpoleiG4172thereἦνēnG1510was a judgeκριτήςkritēsG2923who did not fearφοβούμενοςphoboumenosG5399GodθεὸνtheonG2316and did notrespectἐντρεπόμενος.entrepomenosG1788anypersonἄνθρωπονanthrōponG444.

3NowδὲdeG1161there was a widowχήραchēraG5503in that cityπόλειpoleiG4172,and she kept comingἤρχετοērchetoG2064to him, sayingλέγουσα·legousaG3004, ‘GiveG1556me justiceG1556againstἀπὸapoG575myopponentἀντιδίκουantidikouG476.’

4For a whileχρόνον.chrononG5550he was unwillingἤθελενēthelenG3756 G2309;but laterμετὰ ταῦταmeta tautaG3326 G3778he saidG3004to himselfἑαυτῷ·he'autōG1438, ‘EvenG2532thoughεἰeiG1487I do not fearφοβοῦμαιphoboumaiG5399GodθεὸνtheonG2316norοὐδὲoudeG3761respectἐντρέπομαι,entrepomaiG1788anypersonἄνθρωπονanthrōponG444,
