2Now at that timeוְאָ֗זve.'AzH227the armyחֵ֚ילcheilH2428of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֔לba.VelH894was besiegingצָרִ֖ים עַל־tza.Rim 'al-H6696 H5921Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,and Jeremiahוְיִרְמְיָ֣הוּve.yir.me.Ya.huH3414the prophetהַנָּבִ֗יאha.na.Vi'H5030was imprisonedכָלוּא֙kha.Lu'H3607in thecourtyardבַּחֲצַ֣רba.cha.TzarH2691of the guardהַמַּטָּרָ֔הha.ma.ta.RahH4307,whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834was atthe houseבֵּֽית־beit-H1004of the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063,

3becauseאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֥הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063hadimprisonedכְּלָא֔וֹke.la.'OH3607him, sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Whyמַדּוּעַ֩ma.du.a'H4069do youprophesyנִבָּ֜אni.Ba'H5012,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, ‘ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: “BeholdH2009, I am going tohandבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH5414 H3027thisH2088cityהָעִ֥ירha.'IrH5892overH5414to the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894,and he will takeוּלְכָדָֽהּ׃u.le.kha.DahH3920it;

4and Zedekiahוְצִדְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ve.tzid.ki.Ya.huH6667kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063willnot escapeיִמָּלֵ֖טyi.ma.LetH4422from the handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֑יםha.kas.DimH3778,but he will certainlyH5414be handedבְּיַ֣דbe.YadH5414 H3027overH5414to the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֔לba.VelH894, and he willspeakוְדִבֶּר־ve.di.ber-H1696with himfaceפִּ֣יוpivH6310to faceפִּ֔יוPivH6310and seeתִּרְאֶֽינָה׃tir.'Ei.nahH7200him eyeוְעֵינָ֖יוve.'ei.NavH5869to eyeעֵינָ֥יוei.novH5869.

5Then he willtakeיוֹלִ֤ךְyo.LikhH1980Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙tzid.ki.Ya.huH6667to Babylonוּבָבֶ֞לu.va.VelH894,and he will be thereוְשָׁ֣םve.ShamH8033untilעַד־'ad-H5704I visitפָּקְדִ֥יpa.ke.DiH6485him,” declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068. “Ifכִּ֧יkiH3588you fightתִֽלָּחֲמ֛וּti.la.cha.MuH3898againstאֶת־'et-H854the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֖יםha.kas.DimH3778, you willnot succeedתַצְלִֽיחוּ׃ פtatz.Li.chuH6743”’?”

6And Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֑הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “The wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068cameהָיָ֥הha.YahH1961to me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

7‘Beholdהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009,Hanamelחֲנַמְאֵ֗לcha.nam.'ElH2601the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shallumשַׁלֻּם֙sha.LumH7967your uncleדֹּֽדְךָ֔do.de.KhaH1730is comingבָּ֥אba'H935to you, sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Buyקְנֵ֣הke.NehH7069for yourself my fieldשָׂדִי֙sa.DiH7704whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834is atAnathothבַּעֲנָת֔וֹתba.'a.na.TotH6068, for you have therightמִשְׁפַּ֥טmish.PatH4941of redemptionהַגְּאֻלָּ֖הha.ge.'u.LahH1353to buyלִקְנֽוֹת׃lik.NotH7069it.”’

8Then my uncle’sדֹּדִ֜יdo.DiH1730sonבֶּן־ben-H1121Hanamelחֲנַמְאֵ֨לcha.nam.'ElH2601cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935to me in thecourtyardחֲצַ֣רcha.TzarH2691of the guardהַמַּטָּרָה֒ha.ma.ta.RahH4307in accordance with the wordכִּדְבַ֣רkid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, ‘Buyקְנֵ֣הke.NehH7069my fieldשָׂדִ֨יsa.DiH7704,pleaseנָ֠אna'H4994, that is atAnathothבַּעֲנָת֜וֹתba.'a.na.TotH6068,whichH834is in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֗יןbin.ya.MinH1144;for you have the rightמִשְׁפַּ֧טmish.PatH4941of possessionהַיְרֻשָּׁ֛הhay.ru.ShahH3425and the redemptionהַגְּאֻלָּ֖הha.ge.'u.LahH1353is yours; buyקְנֵה־ke.neh-H7069itfor yourself.’ Then I knewוָאֵדַ֕עva.'e.Da'H3045that thisהֽוּא׃Hu'H1931was thewordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.

9“So I boughtוָֽאֶקְנֶה֙va.'ek.NehH7069the fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֔הha.sa.DehH7704whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834was in Anathothבַּעֲנָת֑וֹתba.'a.na.TotH6068from Hanamelחֲנַמְאֵ֥לcha.nam.'ElH2601my uncle’sדֹּדִ֖יdo.DiH1730sonבֶּן־ben-H1121, and Iweighedוָֽאֶשְׁקֲלָה־va.'esh.ka.lah-H8254outH8254the silverהַכֶּ֔סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701for him, seventeenשִׁבְעָ֥ה וַעֲשָׂרָ֥הshiv.'Ah va.'a.sa.RahH7651 H6235shekelsשְׁקָלִ֖יםshe.ka.LimH8255of silverהַכָּֽסֶף׃ha.Ka.sefH3701.

10And Isignedוָאֶכְתֹּ֤בva.'ekh.ToH3789andsealedוָֽאֶחְתֹּ֔םva.'ech.TomH2856the deedבַּסֵּ֙פֶר֙ba.Se.ferH5612, andcalledH5749inH5749witnessesעֵדִ֑ים'e.DimH5707,and weighedוָאֶשְׁקֹ֥לva.'esh.KolH8254outH8254the silverהַכֶּ֖סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701on the scalesבְּמֹאזְנָֽיִם׃be.mo.ze.Na.yimH3976.

11Then I tookוָאֶקַּ֖חva.'e.KachH3947the deedsסֵ֣פֶרSe.ferH5612of purchaseהַמִּקְנָ֑הha.mik.NahH4736,both the sealedהֶֽחָת֛וּםhe.cha.TumH2856copy containing thetermsהַמִּצְוָ֥הha.mitz.VahH4687and conditionsוְהַחֻקִּ֖יםve.ha.chu.KimH2706and the openהַגָּלֽוּי׃ha.ga.LuiH1540copy;

12and I gaveוָאֶתֵּ֞ןva.'e.TenH5414the deedהַסֵּ֣פֶרha.Se.ferH5612of purchaseהַמִּקְנָ֗הha.mik.NahH4736toBaruchבָּר֣וּךְba.RukhH1263the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofNeriahנֵרִיָּה֮ne.ri.YahH5374,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Mahseiahמַחְסֵיָה֒mach.se.YahH4271,in the sightלְעֵינֵי֙le.'ei.NeiH5869of Hanamelחֲנַמְאֵ֣לcha.nam.'ElH2601my uncle’sדֹּדִ֔יdo.DiH1730sonand in the sightוּלְעֵינֵי֙u.le.'ei.NeiH5869of the witnessesהָֽעֵדִ֔יםha.'e.DimH5707who signedהַכֹּתְבִ֖יםha.ko.te.VimH3789the deedבְּסֵ֣פֶרbe.Se.ferH5612of purchaseהַמִּקְנָ֑הha.mik.NahH4736,in the sightלְעֵינֵי֙le.'ei.NeiH5869of allכָּל־kol-H3605the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֔יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064who were sittingהַיֹּשְׁבִ֖יםhai.yo.she.VimH3427in the courtyardבַּחֲצַ֥רba.cha.TzarH2691of the guardהַמַּטָּרָֽה׃ha.ma.ta.RahH4307.

13And I commandedוָֽאֲצַוֶּה֙va.'a.tza.VehH6680Baruchבָּר֔וּךְba.RukhH1263in their sightלְעֵינֵיהֶ֖םle.'ei.nei.HemH5869,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

14‘ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָא֜וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478saysאָמַר֩'a.MarH559: “Takeלָק֣וֹחַla.Ko.achH3947theseהָאֵ֡לֶּהha.'E.lehH428deedsהַסְּפָרִ֣יםha.se.fa.RimH5612,thisהַזֶּ֜הha.ZehH2088sealedהֶחָת֗וּםhe.cha.TumH2856deedסֵפֶר֩se.FerH5612of purchaseהַמִּקְנָ֨הha.mik.NahH4736and thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088openהַגָּלוּי֙ha.ga.LuiH1540deedסֵ֤פֶרSe.ferH5612,and putוּנְתַתָּ֖םu.ne.ta.TamH5414them in an earthenwareחָ֑רֶשׂCha.resH2789jarבִּכְלִי־bikh.li-H3627,soלְמַ֥עַןle.Ma.'anH4616thatH4616they maylastיַעַמְד֖וּya.'am.DuH5975a longרַבִּֽים׃ סra.BimH7227timeיָמִ֥יםya.MimH3117.”

15For thisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478saysאָמַ֛ר'a.MarH559: “Housesבָתִּ֛יםva.TimH1004and fieldsוְשָׂד֥וֹתve.sa.DotH7704and vineyardsוּכְרָמִ֖יםu.khe.ra.MimH3754will againע֣וֹדodH5750be purchasedיִקָּנ֥וּyi.ka.NuH7069in thisH2088landבָּאָ֥רֶץba.'A.retzH776.”’
