2At that timeוְאָ֗זve.'AzH227the armyחֵ֚ילcheilH2428of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֔לba.VelH894was besiegingצָרִ֖ים עַל־tza.Rim 'al-H6696 H5921Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,and Jeremiahוְיִרְמְיָ֣הוּve.yir.me.Ya.huH3414the prophetהַנָּבִ֗יאha.na.Vi'H5030wasהָיָ֤הha.YahH1961imprisonedכָלוּא֙kha.Lu'H3607in the courtyardבַּחֲצַ֣רba.cha.TzarH2691of the guardהַמַּטָּרָ֔הha.ma.ta.RahH4307,which wasאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834in the palaceבֵּֽית־beit-H1004of the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.

3Forאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֥הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063had imprisoned himכְּלָא֔וֹke.la.'OH3607,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559: “Whyמַדּוּעַ֩ma.du.a'H4069are youאַתָּ֨ה'a.TahH859prophesyingנִבָּ֜אni.Ba'H5012like thisכֹּ֚הkohH3541?You claim thatלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559, ‘Beholdהִנְנִ֨יhi.NiH2005,I am about to deliverנֹתֵ֜ןno.TenH5414thisהַזֹּ֛אתha.ZotH2063cityהָעִ֥ירha.'IrH5892אֶת־'et-H853into the handבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH3027of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894,and he will capture itוּלְכָדָֽהּ׃u.le.kha.DahH3920.

4Zedekiahוְצִדְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ve.tzid.ki.Ya.huH6667kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063will notלֹ֥אlo'H3808escapeיִמָּלֵ֖טyi.ma.LetH4422from the handsמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֑יםha.kas.DimH3778,butכִּ֣יkiH3588he will surely be deliveredH5414into the handבְּיַ֣דbe.YadH3027of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֔לba.VelH894,and will speak with himוְדִבֶּר־ve.di.ber-H1696faceפִּ֣יוpivH6310toעִם־'im-H5973faceפִּ֔יוPivH6310and see himתִּרְאֶֽינָה׃tir.'Ei.nahH7200eyeוְעֵינָ֖יוve.'ei.NavH5869אֶת־'et-H853to eyeעֵינָ֥יוei.novH5869.

5He will takeיוֹלִ֤ךְyo.LikhH1980אֶת־'et-H853Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙tzid.ki.Ya.huH6667to Babylonוּבָבֶ֞לu.va.VelH894,whereוְשָׁ֣םve.ShamH8033he will stayיִֽהְיֶ֔הyih.YehH1961untilעַד־'ad-H5704I attend toפָּקְדִ֥יpa.ke.DiH6485himאֹת֖וֹ'o.ToH853,declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.Ifכִּ֧יkiH3588you fightתִֽלָּחֲמ֛וּti.la.cha.MuH3898againstאֶת־'et-H854the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֖יםha.kas.DimH3778,you will notלֹ֥אlo'H3808succeedתַצְלִֽיחוּ׃ פtatz.Li.chuH6743.’”

7Beholdהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009!Hanamelחֲנַמְאֵ֗לcha.nam.'ElH2601,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of your uncleדֹּֽדְךָ֔do.de.KhaH1730Shallumשַׁלֻּם֙sha.LumH7967,is comingבָּ֥אba'H935toאֵלֶ֖יךָ'e.Lei.khaH413you to sayלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, ‘Buyקְנֵ֣הke.NehH7069for yourselfאֶת־'et-H853my fieldשָׂדִי֙sa.DiH7704אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834in Anathothבַּעֲנָת֔וֹתba.'a.na.TotH6068,forכִּ֥יkiH3588you havethe rightמִשְׁפַּ֥טmish.PatH4941of redemptionהַגְּאֻלָּ֖הha.ge.'u.LahH1353to buy itלִקְנֽוֹת׃lik.NotH7069.’

8Then, as the LORDאֵ֠לַי יְהוָה֮'E.lai Yah.wehH3068 H413had saidכִּדְבַ֣רkid.VarH1697,my cousinבֶּן־ דֹּדִ֜יben- do.DiH1121 H1730Hanamelחֲנַמְאֵ֨לcha.nam.'ElH2601cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935to meאֶל־'el-H413in the courtyardחֲצַ֣רcha.TzarH2691of the guardהַמַּטָּרָה֒ha.ma.ta.RahH4307and urged meוַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֡יvai.Yo.mer 'e.LaiH559 H413, ‘Pleaseנָ֠אna'H4994אֶת־'et-H853buyקְנֵ֣הke.NehH7069my fieldשָׂדִ֨יsa.DiH7704אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834in Anathothבַּעֲנָת֜וֹתba.'a.na.TotH6068אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀'a.SherH834in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֗יןbin.ya.MinH1144,forכִּֽי־ki-H3588you ownthe rightמִשְׁפַּ֧טmish.PatH4941of inheritanceהַיְרֻשָּׁ֛הhay.ru.ShahH3425andredemptionהַגְּאֻלָּ֖הha.ge.'u.LahH1353.Buy itקְנֵה־ke.neh-H7069for yourself.’”Then I knewוָאֵדַ֕עva.'e.Da'H3045thatכִּ֥יkiH3588thisהֽוּא׃Hu'H1931was the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.

9So I boughtוָֽאֶקְנֶה֙va.'ek.NehH7069אֶת־'et-H853the fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֔ה מֵאֵ֛תha.sa.Deh me.'EtH7704 H854in Anathothבַּעֲנָת֑וֹתba.'a.na.TotH6068from my cousinבֶּן־ דֹּדִ֖יben- do.DiH1121 H1730אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834Hanamelחֲנַמְאֵ֥לcha.nam.'ElH2601,and I weighed outוָֽאֶשְׁקֲלָה־va.'esh.ka.lah-H8254אֶת־'et-H853seventeenהַכֶּ֔סֶף שִׁבְעָ֥ה וַעֲשָׂרָ֥הha.Ke.sef shiv.'Ah va.'a.sa.RahH3701 H7651 H6235shekelsשְׁקָלִ֖יםshe.ka.LimH8255of silverהַכָּֽסֶף׃ha.Ka.sefH3701.

10I signedוָאֶכְתֹּ֤בva.'ekh.ToH3789and sealedוָֽאֶחְתֹּ֔םva.'ech.TomH2856the deedבַּסֵּ֙פֶר֙ba.Se.ferH5612,called in witnessesוָאָעֵ֖ד עֵדִ֑יםva.'a.'Ed 'e.DimH5749 H5707,and weighed outוָאֶשְׁקֹ֥לva.'esh.KolH8254the silverהַכֶּ֖סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701on the scalesבְּמֹאזְנָֽיִם׃be.mo.ze.Na.yimH3976.

11Then I tookוָאֶקַּ֖חva.'e.KachH3947אֶת־'et-H853the deedסֵ֣פֶרSe.ferH5612of purchaseהַמִּקְנָ֑הha.mik.NahH4736אֶת־'et-H853—the sealedהֶֽחָת֛וּםhe.cha.TumH2856copy with its termsהַמִּצְוָ֥הha.mitz.VahH4687and conditionsוְהַחֻקִּ֖יםve.ha.chu.KimH2706,as well asוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853the open copyהַגָּלֽוּי׃ha.ga.LuiH1540—

12and I gaveוָאֶתֵּ֞ןva.'e.TenH5414אֶת־'et-H853this deedהַסֵּ֣פֶר הַמִּקְנָ֗הha.Se.fer ha.mik.NahH5612 H4736toאֶל־'el-H413Baruchבָּר֣וּךְba.RukhH1263sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Neriahנֵרִיָּה֮ne.ri.YahH5374,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Mahseiahמַחְסֵיָה֒mach.se.YahH4271,in the sightלְעֵינֵי֙le.'ei.NeiH5869of my cousinדֹּדִ֔י וּלְעֵינֵי֙do.Di u.le.'ei.NeiH1730 H5869Hanamelחֲנַמְאֵ֣לcha.nam.'ElH2601and the witnessesהָֽעֵדִ֔יםha.'e.DimH5707who were signingהַכֹּתְבִ֖יםha.ko.te.VimH3789the purchaseהַמִּקְנָ֑ה לְעֵינֵי֙ha.mik.Nah le.'ei.NeiH4736 H5869agreementבְּסֵ֣פֶרbe.Se.ferH5612and allכָּל־kol-H3605the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֔יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064sittingהַיֹּשְׁבִ֖יםhai.yo.she.VimH3427in the courtyardבַּחֲצַ֥רba.cha.TzarH2691of the guardהַמַּטָּרָֽה׃ha.ma.ta.RahH4307.
