1Then Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290setH5375outH5375onH5375his journeyרַגְלָ֑יוrag.LavH7272,and wentוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980to the landאַ֥רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776of thepeopleבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of the eastקֶֽדֶם׃Ke.demH6924.

2He lookedH7200, andsawH7200a wellבְאֵ֣רve.'ErH875in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֗הba.sa.DehH7704,and beholdH2009,threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֤הshe.lo.ShahH7969flocksעֶדְרֵי־'ed.rei-H5739of sheepצֹאן֙tzoNH6629were lyingרֹבְצִ֣יםroe.TzimH7257thereשָׁ֞םshamH8033besideH5921it, becauseכִּ֚יkiH3588they wateredיַשְׁק֖וּyash.KuH8248the flocksהָעֲדָרִ֑יםha.'a.da.RimH5739from that wellהַבְּאֵ֣רha.be.'ErH875.Now the stoneוְהָאֶ֥בֶןve.ha.'E.venH68on the mouthפִּ֥יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵֽר׃ha.be.'ErH875was largeגְּדֹלָ֖הge.do.LahH1419.

3When allכָל־khol-H3605the flocksהָעֲדָרִ֗יםha.'a.da.RimH5739were gatheredוְנֶאֶסְפוּ־ve.ne.'es.fu-H622thereשָׁ֣מָּהSha.mahH8033,they would rollוְגָלֲל֤וּve.ga.la.LuH1556the stoneהָאֶ֙בֶן֙ha.'E.venH68from the mouthפִּ֣יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵ֔רha.be.'ErH875and waterוְהִשְׁק֖וּve.hish.KuH8248the sheepהַצֹּ֑אןha.TzonH6629.Then they would putH7725the stoneהָאֶ֛בֶןha.'E.venH68backוְהֵשִׁ֧יבוּve.he.Shi.vuH7725in its placeלִמְקֹמָֽהּ׃lim.ko.MahH4725on the mouthפִּ֥יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵ֖רha.be.'ErH875.

4Jacobיַעֲקֹ֔בya.'a.KoH3290saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “My brothersאַחַ֖י'a.ChaiH251,whereמֵאַ֣יִןme.'A.yinH370are you from?” And they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “We are fromHaranמֵחָרָ֖ןme.cha.RanH2771.”

5So he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Do you knowהַיְדַעְתֶּ֖םhay.da'.TemH3045Labanלָבָ֣ןla.VanH3837thesonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nahorנָח֑וֹרna.ChorH5152?”And they saidוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “We knowיָדָֽעְנוּ׃ya.Da.'e.nuH3045him.”

6And he saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Is it wellהֲשָׁל֣וֹםha.sha.LomH7965with him?” And they saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “It is wellשָׁל֔וֹםsha.LomH7965,and hereוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009is his daughterבִּתּ֔וֹbi.ToH1323Rachelרָחֵ֣לra.ChelH7354comingבָּאָ֖הba.'AhH935with the sheepהַצֹּֽאן׃ha.TzonH6629.”

7Then he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Lookהֵ֥ןhenH2005,it is stillעוֹד֙'OdH5750highגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117;it is not timeעֵ֖ת'etH6256for the livestockהַמִּקְנֶ֑הha.mik.NehH4735to be gatheredהֵאָסֵ֣ףhe.'a.SefH622.Waterהַשְׁק֥וּhash.KuH8248the sheepהַצֹּ֖אןha.TzonH6629,and goוּלְכ֥וּu.le.KhuH1980,pastureרְעֽוּ׃re.'UH7462them.”

8But they saidוַיֹּאמְרוּ֮vai.yo.me.RuH559, “We cannotלֹ֣א נוּכַל֒lo' nu.KhalH3201 H3808,untilעַ֣ד אֲשֶׁ֤ר'ad 'a.SherH5704 H834allכָּל־kol-H3605the flocksהָ֣עֲדָרִ֔יםha.'a.da.RimH5739are gatheredיֵאָֽסְפוּ֙ye.'a.se.FuH622,and they rollוְגָֽלֲלוּ֙ve.ga.la.LuH1556the stoneהָאֶ֔בֶןha.'E.venH68from the mouthפִּ֣יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵ֑רha.be.'ErH875;then we waterוְהִשְׁקִ֖ינוּve.hish.Ki.nuH8248the sheepהַצֹּֽאן׃ha.TzonH6629.”

9While he was stillעוֹדֶ֖נּוּo.De.nuH5750speakingמְדַבֵּ֣רme.da.BerH1696with them, Rachelוְרָחֵ֣ל׀ve.ra.ChelH7354cameבָּ֗אָהBa.'ahH935with her father’sלְאָבִ֔יהָle.'a.Vi.haH1sheepהַצֹּאן֙ha.tzoNH6629,for she was a shepherdessרֹעָ֖הro.'AhH7462.

11Then Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290kissedוַיִּשַּׁ֥קvai.yi.ShakH5401Rachelלְרָחֵ֑לle.ra.ChelH7354,and raisedוַיִּשָּׂ֥אvai.yi.Sa'H5375his voiceקֹל֖וֹko.LoH6963and weptוַיֵּֽבְךְּ׃vai.Ye.vekH1058.

12Jacobיַעֲקֹ֜בya.'a.KoH3290toldוַיַּגֵּ֨דvai.ya.GedH5046Rachelלְרָחֵ֗לle.ra.ChelH7354that he was arelativeאֲחִ֤י'a.ChiH251of her fatherאָבִ֙יהָ֙'a.Vi.haH1and that he was Rebekah’sרִבְקָ֖הriv.KahH7259sonבֶן־ven-H1121, andshe ranוַתָּ֖רָץva.Ta.rotzH7323and toldוַתַּגֵּ֥דva.ta.GedH5046her fatherלְאָבִֽיהָ׃le.'a.Vi.haH1.

13So whenLabanלָבָ֜ןla.VanH3837heardכִשְׁמֹ֨עַkhish.Mo.a'H8085the newsשֵׁ֣מַע׀She.ma'H8088about Jacobיַעֲקֹ֣בya.'a.KoH3290,his sister’sאֲחֹת֗וֹ'a.cho.ToH269sonבֶּן־ben-H1121,he ranוַיָּ֤רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323to meetלִקְרָאתוֹ֙lik.ra.ToH7122him, andembracedוַיְחַבֶּק־vay.cha.bek-H2263him and kissedוַיְנַשֶּׁק־vay.na.shek-H5401him, and broughtוַיְבִיאֵ֖הוּvay.vi.'E.huH935him to his houseבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004.Then he toldוַיְסַפֵּ֣רvay.sa.PerH5608Labanלְלָבָ֔ןle.la.VanH3837allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵֽלֶּה׃ha.'E.lehH428thingsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697.

14And Labanלָבָ֔ןla.VanH3837saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “You certainlyאַ֛ךְ'akhH389aremy boneעַצְמִ֥י'atz.MiH6106and my fleshוּבְשָׂרִ֖יu.ve.sa.RiH1320.”And he stayedוַיֵּ֥שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427with him a monthחֹ֥דֶשׁCho.deshH2320.
