1Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290resumed his journeyוַיִּשָּׂ֥א רַגְלָ֑יוvai.yi.Sa' rag.LavH5375 H7272and cameוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980to the landאַ֥רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776of the peopleבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of the eastקֶֽדֶם׃Ke.demH6924.

2He lookedוַיַּ֞רְאvai.Yar'H7200and sawוְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009a wellבְאֵ֣רve.'ErH875in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֗הba.sa.DehH7704,andוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009near itשָׁ֞ם עָלֶ֔יהָsham 'a.Lei.haH8033 H5921layרֹבְצִ֣יםroe.TzimH7257threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֤הshe.lo.ShahH7969flocksעֶדְרֵי־'ed.rei-H5739of sheepצֹאן֙tzoNH6629,becauseכִּ֚יkiH3588the sheepהָעֲדָרִ֑יםha.'a.da.RimH5739were wateredיַשְׁק֖וּyash.KuH8248fromמִן־min-H4480thisהַהִ֔ואha.Hiv'H1931wellהַבְּאֵ֣רha.be.'ErH875.And a largeגְּדֹלָ֖הge.do.LahH1419stoneוְהָאֶ֥בֶןve.ha.'E.venH68coveredעַל־'al-H5921the mouthפִּ֥יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵֽר׃ha.be.'ErH875.

3When allכָל־khol-H3605the flocksהָעֲדָרִ֗יםha.'a.da.RimH5739had been gatheredוְנֶאֶסְפוּ־ve.ne.'es.fu-H622thereשָׁ֣מָּהSha.mahH8033,the shepherds would roll awayוְגָלֲל֤וּve.ga.la.LuH1556אֶת־'et-H853the stoneהָאֶ֙בֶן֙ha.'E.venH68fromמֵעַל֙me.'AlH5921the mouthפִּ֣יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵ֔רha.be.'ErH875and waterוְהִשְׁק֖וּve.hish.KuH8248אֶת־'et-H853the sheepהַצֹּ֑אןha.TzonH6629.Then they would returnוְהֵשִׁ֧יבוּve.he.Shi.vuH7725the stoneהָאֶ֛בֶןha.'E.venH68אֶת־'et-H853to its placeלִמְקֹמָֽהּ׃lim.ko.MahH4725overעַל־'al-H5921the mouthפִּ֥יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵ֖רha.be.'ErH875.

4“My brothersאַחַ֖י'a.ChaiH251,”Jacobיַעֲקֹ֔בya.'a.KoH3290askedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559the shepherds, “whereמֵאַ֣יִןme.'A.yinH370are you fromאַתֶּ֑ם'a.TemH859?” “We areאֲנָֽחְנוּ׃'a.Na.che.nuH587from Haranמֵחָרָ֖ןme.cha.RanH2771,”they answeredוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559.

5“Do you knowהַיְדַעְתֶּ֖םhay.da'.TemH3045אֶת־'et-H853Labanלָבָ֣ןla.VanH3837the grandsonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nahorנָח֑וֹרna.ChorH5152?”Jacob askedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “We know himיָדָֽעְנוּ׃ya.Da.'e.nuH3045,”they repliedוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559.

6“Is he wellהֲשָׁל֣וֹםha.sha.LomH7965?”Jacob inquiredוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “Yesשָׁל֔וֹםsha.LomH7965,”they answeredוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “and hereוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009comesבָּאָ֖הba.'AhH935his daughterבִּתּ֔וֹbi.ToH1323Rachelרָחֵ֣לra.ChelH7354withעִם־'im-H5973his sheepהַצֹּֽאן׃ha.TzonH6629.”

7“Lookהֵ֥ןhenH2005,”said Jacobוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “it is stillעוֹד֙'OdH5750broadגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419daylightהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117;it is not yetלֹא־lo'-H3808timeעֵ֖ת'etH6256to gatherהֵאָסֵ֣ףhe.'a.SefH622the livestockהַמִּקְנֶ֑הha.mik.NehH4735.Waterהַשְׁק֥וּhash.KuH8248the sheepהַצֹּ֖אןha.TzonH6629and take them backוּלְכ֥וּu.le.KhuH1980to pastureרְעֽוּ׃re.'UH7462.”

8But they repliedוַיֹּאמְרוּ֮vai.yo.me.RuH559, “We cannotלֹ֣א נוּכַל֒lo' nu.KhalH3808 H3201,untilעַ֣ד'adH5704אֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834allכָּל־kol-H3605the flocksהָ֣עֲדָרִ֔יםha.'a.da.RimH5739have been gatheredיֵאָֽסְפוּ֙ye.'a.se.FuH622and the stoneהָאֶ֔בֶןha.'E.venH68has been rolledוְגָֽלֲלוּ֙ve.ga.la.LuH1556אֶת־'et-H853away fromמֵעַ֖לme.'AlH5921the mouthפִּ֣יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵ֑רha.be.'ErH875.Then we will waterוְהִשְׁקִ֖ינוּve.hish.Ki.nuH8248the sheepהַצֹּֽאן׃ha.TzonH6629.”

9Whileעוֹדֶ֖נּוּo.De.nuH5750he was still speakingמְדַבֵּ֣רme.da.BerH1696with themעִמָּ֑ם'i.MamH5973,Rachelוְרָחֵ֣ל׀ve.ra.ChelH7354arrivedבָּ֗אָהBa.'ahH935withעִם־'im-H5973her father’sלְאָבִ֔יהָle.'a.Vi.haH1sheepהַצֹּאן֙ha.tzoNH6629אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834,forכִּ֥יkiH3588sheהִֽוא׃hi'H1931was a shepherdessרֹעָ֖הro.'AhH7462.

10וַיְהִ֡יvay.HiH1961As soon asכַּאֲשֶׁר֩ka.'a.SherH834Jacobיַעֲקֹ֜בya.'a.KoH3290אֶת־'et-H853sawרָאָ֨הra.'AhH7200Rachelרָחֵ֗לra.ChelH7354,the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of his mother’sH517brotherH251וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853Labanלָבָן֙la.VanH3837,with Laban’sלָבָ֖ןla.VanH3837sheepצֹ֥אןtzonH6629,heיַעֲקֹ֗בya.'a.KoH3290went upוַיִּגַּ֣שׁvai.yi.GashH5066and rolledוַיָּ֤גֶלvai.Ya.gelH1556אֶת־'et-H853the stoneהָאֶ֙בֶן֙ha.'E.venH68away fromמֵעַל֙me.'AlH5921the mouthפִּ֣יpiH6310of the wellהַבְּאֵ֔רha.be.'ErH875and wateredוַיַּ֕שְׁקְvai.YashkH8248אֶת־'et-H853his uncle’sלָבָ֖ןla.VanH251 H517 H3837sheepצֹ֥אןtzonH6629.

11Then Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290kissedוַיִּשַּׁ֥קvai.yi.ShakH5401Rachelלְרָחֵ֑לle.ra.ChelH7354and weptוַיֵּֽבְךְּ׃vai.Ye.vekH1058aloudוַיִּשָּׂ֥אvai.yi.Sa'H5375אֶת־'et-H853קֹל֖וֹko.LoH6963.

12Heיַעֲקֹ֜בya.'a.KoH3290toldוַיַּגֵּ֨דvai.ya.GedH5046Rachelלְרָחֵ֗לle.ra.ChelH7354thatכִּ֣יkiH3588he wasה֔וּאHu'H1931Rebekah’sרִבְקָ֖ה ה֑וּאriv.Kah Hu'H7259 H1931sonוְכִ֥י בֶן־ve.Khi ven-H1121 H3588,a relativeאֲחִ֤י'a.ChiH251of her fatherאָבִ֙יהָ֙'a.Vi.haH1,and she ranוַתָּ֖רָץva.Ta.rotzH7323and toldוַתַּגֵּ֥דva.ta.GedH5046her fatherלְאָבִֽיהָ׃le.'a.Vi.haH1.

13וַיְהִי֩vay.HiH1961When Labanלָבָ֜ןla.VanH3837אֶת־'et-H853heardכִשְׁמֹ֨עַkhish.Mo.a'H8085the newsשֵׁ֣מַע׀She.ma'H8088about his sister’sאֲחֹת֗וֹ'a.cho.ToH269sonבֶּן־ben-H1121Jacobיַעֲקֹ֣בya.'a.KoH3290,he ran outוַיָּ֤רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323to meet himלִקְרָאתוֹ֙lik.ra.ToH7122.He embracedוַיְחַבֶּק־vay.cha.bek-H2263himand kissedוַיְנַשֶּׁק־vay.na.shek-H5401himand brought himוַיְבִיאֵ֖הוּvay.vi.'E.huH935toאֶל־'el-H413his homeבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004,where Jacob toldוַיְסַפֵּ֣רvay.sa.PerH5608himלְלָבָ֔ןle.la.VanH3837אֵ֥ת'etH853allכָּל־kol-H3605that had happenedהַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ha.de.va.Rim ha.'E.lehH1697 H428.

14Then Labanלָבָ֔ןla.VanH3837declaredוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “You areאָ֑תָּה'A.tahH859indeedאַ֛ךְ'akhH389my own fleshוּבְשָׂרִ֖יu.ve.sa.RiH1320and bloodעַצְמִ֥י'atz.MiH6106.”After Jacob had stayedוַיֵּ֥שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427with himעִמּ֖וֹi.MoH5973a monthחֹ֥דֶשׁ יָמִֽים׃Cho.desh ya.MimH2320 H3117,
