15When the waterהַמַּ֖יִםha.Ma.yimH4325in the skinהַחֵ֑מֶתha.Che.metH2573was usedH3615upH3615, sheleftוַתַּשְׁלֵ֣ךְva.tash.LekhH7993the boyהַיֶּ֔לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206underתַּ֖חַתTa.chatH8478oneאַחַ֥ד'a.ChadH259of the bushesהַשִּׂיחִֽם׃ha.si.ChimH7880.

16Then she wentוַתֵּלֶךְ֩va.te.leKhH1980and satH3427downH3427oppositeמִנֶּ֗גֶדmi.Ne.gedH4480 H5048him, about a bowshotכִּמְטַחֲוֵ֣י קֶ֔שֶׁתkim.ta.cha.Vei Ke.shetH2909 H7198awayהַרְחֵק֙har.ChekH7368,for she saidאָֽמְרָ֔ה'a.me.RahH559, “May I notseeאֶרְאֶ֖ה'er.'EhH7200the boyהַיָּ֑לֶדhai.Ya.ledH3206dieבְּמ֣וֹתbe.MotH4194!”And she satH3427oppositeמִנֶּ֔גֶדmi.Ne.gedH4480 H5048him, andraisedוַתִּשָּׂ֥אva.ti.Sa'H5375her voiceקֹלָ֖הּko.LahH6963and weptוַתֵּֽבְךְּ׃va.Te.vekH1058.

17Godאֱלֹהִים֮'E.lo.HimH430heardוַיִּשְׁמַ֣עvai.yish.Ma'H8085the boyהַנַּעַר֒ha.na.'ArH5288cryingק֣וֹלKolH6963;and the angelמַלְאַ֨ךְmal.'AkhH4397of Godאֱלֹהִ֤ים׀'E.lo.HimH430calledוַיִּקְרָא֩vai.yik.Ra'H7121to Hagarהָגָר֙ha.GarH1904from heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to her, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100is the matter with you, Hagarהָגָ֑רha.GarH1904?Do not fearתִּ֣ירְאִ֔יtir.'IH3372,for Godאֱלֹהִ֛ים'E.lo.HimH430has heardשָׁמַ֧עsha.Ma'H8085the voiceק֥וֹלKolH6963of the boyהַנַּ֖עַרha.Na.'arH5288whereבַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר שָֽׁם׃ba.'a.Sher ShamH834 H8033he is.

18GetH6965upH6965,liftשְׂאִ֣יse.'IH5375upH5375the boyהַנַּ֔עַרha.Na.'arH5288,and holdוְהַחֲזִ֥יקִיve.ha.cha.Zi.kiH2388him bythe handיָדֵ֖ךְya.DekhH3027,for I will makeאֲשִׂימֶֽנּוּ׃'a.si.Me.nuH7760a greatגָּד֖וֹלga.DolH1419nationלְג֥וֹיle.GoyH1471of him.”

19Then Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430openedוַיִּפְקַ֤חvai.yif.KachH6491her eyesעֵינֶ֔יהָ'ei.Nei.haH5869,and she sawוַתֵּ֖רֶאva.Te.re'H7200a wellבְּאֵ֣רbe.'ErH875of waterמָ֑יִםMa.yimH4325;and she wentוַתֵּ֜לֶךְva.Te.lekhH1980and filledוַתְּמַלֵּ֤אva.te.ma.Le'H4390theskinהַחֵ֙מֶת֙ha.Che.metH2573with waterמַ֔יִםMa.yimH4325and gaveH8248the boyהַנָּֽעַר׃ha.Na.'arH5288aH8248drinkוַתַּ֖שְׁקְva.TashkH8248.

20AndGodאֱלֹהִ֛ים'E.lo.HimH430was with the boyהַנַּ֖עַרha.Na.'arH5288,and he grewוַיִּגְדָּ֑לvai.yig.DalH1431;and he livedוַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙vai.Ye.shevH3427in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֔רba.mid.BarH4057and becameH1961an archerרֹבֶ֥ה קַשָּֽׁת׃ro.Veh ka.ShatH7235 H7199.

21He livedוַיֵּ֖שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in the wildernessבְּמִדְבַּ֣רbe.mid.BarH4057of Paranפָּארָ֑ןpa.RanH6290,and his motherאִמּ֛וֹ'i.MoH517tookוַתִּֽקַּֽח־va.ti.kach-H3947a wifeאִשָּׁ֖ה'i.ShahH802for him from the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃ פmitz.Ra.yimH4714.

22Now it cameH1961aboutH1961at that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256thatAbimelechאֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40and Phicolוּפִיכֹל֙u.fi.KholH6369,the commanderשַׂר־sar-H8269of his armyצְבָא֔וֹtze.va.'OH6635,spokeוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם'av.ra.HamH85,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Godאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430is with you in allבְּכֹ֥לbe.KholH3605that you doעֹשֶֽׂה׃'o.SehH6213;

23so nowוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258,swearהִשָּׁ֨בְעָהhi.Sha.ve.'ahH7650to me hereהֵ֔נָּהHe.nahH2008by Godבֵֽאלֹהִים֙ve.lo.HimH430that you will not dealתִּשְׁקֹ֣רtish.KorH8266falselyH8266with me or with my offspringוּלְנִינִ֖יu.le.ni.NiH5209or with my descendantsוּלְנֶכְדִּ֑יu.le.nekh.DiH5220,but according to the kindnessכַּחֶ֜סֶדka.Che.sedH2617that I have shownעָשִׂ֤יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213to you, you shall showתַּעֲשֶׂ֣הta.'a.SehH6213to me and to the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776in whichH834you have residedגַּ֥רְתָּהGar.tahH1481.”

24Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֔ם'av.ra.HamH85saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “I swearאִשָּׁבֵֽעַ׃'i.sha.Ve.a'H7650it.”

25But Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם'av.ra.HamH85complainedוְהוֹכִ֥חַve.ho.Khi.achH3198to Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40becauseעַל־ אֹדוֹת֙'al- 'o.dotH5921 H182of the wellבְּאֵ֣רbe.'ErH875of waterהַמַּ֔יִםha.Ma.yimH4325whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the servantsעַבְדֵ֥י'av.DeiH5650of Abimelechאֲבִימֶֽלֶךְ׃'a.vi.Me.lekhH40had seizedגָּזְל֖וּga.ze.LuH1497.

26And Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I do not knowיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045whoמִ֥יmiH4310has doneעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697;you did not tellהִגַּ֣דְתָּhi.Gad.taH5046me, norH1571 H3808did I hearשָׁמַ֖עְתִּיsha.Ma'.tiH8085of ituntilבִּלְתִּ֥יbil.TiH1115todayהַיּֽוֹם׃hai.YomH3117.”

27So Abrahamאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947sheepצֹ֣אןtzonH6629and oxenוּבָקָ֔רu.va.KarH1241and gaveוַיִּתֵּ֖ןvai.yi.TenH5414them to Abimelechלַאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְla.'a.vi.Me.lekhH40, andthe twoשְׁנֵיהֶ֖םshe.nei.HemH8147of them madeוַיִּכְרְת֥וּvai.yikh.re.TuH3772a covenantבְּרִֽית׃be.RitH1285.

28But Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֗ם'av.ra.HamH85setוַיַּצֵּ֣בvai.ya.TzevH5324sevenשֶׁ֛בַעShe.va'H7651eweH3535lambsH3535of the flockהַצֹּ֖אןha.TzonH6629byH905themselvesH905.

29Then Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85, “Whatמָ֣הmahH4100do theseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428sevenשֶׁ֤בַעShe.va'H7651eweH3535lambsH3535mean, whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you have setהִצַּ֖בְתָּhi.Tzav.taH5324byH905themselvesH905?”

30He saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “You shall takeתִּקַּ֖חti.KachH3947these sevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651eweH3535lambsH3535from my handמִיָּדִ֑יmi.ya.DiH3027soH5668thatH5668it may be awitnessלְעֵדָ֔הle.'e.DahH5713for me, that I dugחָפַ֖רְתִּיcha.Far.tiH2658thisH2088wellהַבְּאֵ֥רha.be.'ErH875.”

31Thereforeעַל־ כֵּ֗ן'al- KenH5921 H3651he calledקָרָ֛אka.Ra'H7121that placeלַמָּק֥וֹםla.ma.KomH4725BeershebaH884,becauseכִּ֛יkiH3588thereשָׁ֥םshamH8033the twoשְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃she.nei.HemH8147of them tookH7650anH7650oathנִשְׁבְּע֖וּnish.be.'UH7650.

32So they madeוַיִּכְרְת֥וּvai.yikh.re.TuH3772a covenantבְרִ֖יתve.RitH1285at BeershebaH884;and Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40and Phicolוּפִיכֹל֙u.fi.KholH6369,the commanderשַׂר־sar-H8269of his armyצְבָא֔וֹtze.va.'OH6635,gotH6965upH6965and returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725to the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃pe.lish.TimH6430.

33Abrahamplantedוַיִּטַּ֥עvai.yi.Ta'H5193a tamariskאֶ֖שֶׁל'E.shelH815treeH815at BeershebaH884,and thereשָׁ֔םShamH8033he calledוַיִּ֨קְרָא־vai.Yik.ra'-H7121on the nameבְּשֵׁ֥םbe.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, theEverlastingעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769Godאֵ֥ל'elH410.
