1And afterwardוְאַחַ֗רve.'a.CharH310Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֔ןve.'a.ha.RonH175went inבָּ֚אוּBa.'uH935,and toldוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547,Thus saithאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,Let my peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971goשַׁלַּח֙sha.LachH7971,that they may hold a feastוְיָחֹ֥גּוּve.ya.Cho.guH2287unto me in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

2And Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Who isthe Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,that I should obeyאֶשְׁמַ֣ע'esh.Ma'H8085his voiceבְּקֹל֔וֹbe.ko.LoH6963to let Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478goלְשַׁלַּ֖חle.sha.LachH7971?I knowיָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ya.Da'.tiH3045not the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,neither will I let Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478goאֲשַׁלֵּֽחַ׃'a.sha.Le.achH7971.

3And they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559,The Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Hebrewsהָעִבְרִ֖יםha.'iv.RimH5680hath metנִקְרָ֣אnik.Ra'H7122with us: let us goH3212,we pray thee, threeשְׁלֹ֨שֶׁתshe.Lo.shetH7969days’יָמִ֜יםya.MimH3117journeyדֶּרֶךְ֩de.reKhH1870into the desertבַּמִּדְבָּ֗רba.mid.BarH4057,and sacrificeוְנִזְבְּחָה֙ve.niz.be.ChahH2076unto the Lordלַֽיהוָ֣הla.Yah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430;lest he fallיִפְגָּעֵ֔נוּyif.ga.'E.nuH6293upon us with pestilenceבַּדֶּ֖בֶרba.De.verH1698,or with the swordבֶחָֽרֶב׃ve.Cha.revH2719.

4And the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, Wherefore do ye, Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֔ןve.'a.ha.RonH175,letתַּפְרִ֥יעוּtaf.Ri.'uH6544the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971from their worksמִמַּֽעֲשָׂ֑יוmi.ma.'a.SavH4639?getH3212you unto your burdensלְסִבְלֹתֵיכֶֽם׃le.siv.lo.tei.KhemH5450.

5And Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Behold, the peopleעַ֣ם'amH5971of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776now aremanyרַבִּ֥יםra.BimH7227,and ye make them restוְהִשְׁבַּתֶּ֥םve.hish.ba.TemH7673from their burdensמִסִּבְלֹתָֽם׃mi.siv.lo.TamH5450.

6And Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547commandedוַיְצַ֥וvay.TzavH6680the same dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117the taskmastersהַנֹּגְשִׂ֣יםha.no.ge.SimH5065of the peopleבָּעָ֔םba.'AmH5971,and their officersשֹׁטְרָ֖יוsho.te.RavH7860,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

7Ye shall no moreתֹאסִפ֞וּןto.si.FunH3254giveלָתֵ֨תla.TetH5414the peopleלָעָ֛םla.'AmH5971strawתֶּ֧בֶןTe.venH8401to makeלִלְבֹּ֥ןlil.BonH3835brickהַלְּבֵנִ֖יםha.le.ve.NimH3843,as heretoforeכִּתְמ֣וֹל שִׁלְשֹׁ֑םkit.Mol shil.ShomH8543 H8032:let them goH3212and gatherוְקֹשְׁשׁ֥וּve.ko.she.ShuH7197strawתֶּֽבֶן׃Te.venH8401for themselves.

8And the taleמַתְכֹּ֨נֶתmat.Ko.netH4971of the bricksהַלְּבֵנִ֜יםha.le.ve.NimH3843,which they did makeעֹשִׂ֨ים'o.SimH6213heretoforeתְּמ֤וֹל שִׁלְשֹׁם֙te.Mol shil.ShomH8543 H8032,ye shall layתָּשִׂ֣ימוּta.Si.muH7760upon them; ye shall not diminishתִגְרְע֖וּtig.re.'UH1639ought thereof: for they beidleנִרְפִּ֣יםnir.PimH7503;therefore they cryצֹֽעֲקִים֙tzo.'a.KimH6817,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Let us goH3212andsacrificeנִזְבְּחָ֥הniz.be.ChahH2076to our Godלֵאלֹהֵֽינוּ׃le.lo.Hei.nuH430.

9Let there more workהָעֲבֹדָ֛הha.'a.vo.DahH5656be laidתִּכְבַּ֧דtikh.BadH3513upon the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֖יםha.'a.na.ShimH582,that they may labourוְיַעֲשׂוּ־ve.ya.'a.su-H6213therein; and let them not regardיִשְׁע֖וּyish.'UH8159vainשָֽׁקֶר׃Sha.kerH8267wordsבְּדִבְרֵי־be.div.rei-H1697.

10And the taskmastersנֹגְשֵׂ֤יno.ge.SeiH5065of the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971went outוַיֵּ֨צְא֜וּvai.Ye.tze.'UH3318,and their officersוְשֹׁ֣טְרָ֔יוve.Sho.te.RavH7860,and they spakeוַיֹּאמְר֥וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547,I will not giveנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414you strawתֶּֽבֶן׃Te.venH8401.

11GoH3212ye, getקְח֤וּke.ChuH3947you strawתֶּ֔בֶןTe.venH8401whereמֵאֲשֶׁ֖רme.'a.SherH834ye can findתִּמְצָ֑אוּtim.Tza.'uH4672it: yetכִּ֣יkiH3588not oughtדָּבָֽר׃da.VarH1697of your workמֵעֲבֹדַתְכֶ֖םme.'a.vo.dat.KhemH5656shall be diminishedנִגְרָ֛עnig.Ra'H1639.

12So the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971were scattered abroadוַיָּ֥פֶץvai.Ya.fetzH6327throughout all the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714to gatherלְקֹשֵׁ֥שׁle.ko.SheshH7197stubbleקַ֖שׁkashH7179instead of strawלַתֶּֽבֶן׃la.Te.venH8401.

13And the taskmastersוְהַנֹּגְשִׂ֖יםve.ha.no.ge.SimH5065hastedאָצִ֣ים'a.TzimH213them,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Fulfilכַּלּ֤וּka.LuH3615your worksמַעֲשֵׂיכֶם֙ma.'a.sei.KhemH4639, yourdailyH3117tasksדְּבַר־de.var-H1697,as when there wasבִּהְי֥וֹתbih.YotH1961strawהַתֶּֽבֶן׃ha.Te.venH8401.

14And the officersשֹֽׁטְרֵי֙sho.te.ReiH7860of the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,which Pharaoh’sפַרְעֹ֖הfar.'OhH6547taskmastersנֹגְשֵׂ֥יno.ge.SeiH5065had setשָׂ֣מוּSa.muH7760over them, were beatenוַיֻּכּ֗וּvai.yu.KuH5221, anddemandedלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Wherefore have ye not fulfilledכִלִּיתֶ֨םkhi.li.TemH3615your taskחָקְכֶ֤םcha.ke.ChemH2706in making brickלִלְבֹּן֙lil.BonH3835both yesterdayכִּתְמ֣וֹלkit.MolH8543and to dayהַיּֽוֹם׃hai.YomH3117,as heretoforeשִׁלְשֹׁ֔ם תְּמ֖וֹלshil.Shom te.MolH8543 H8032?

15Then the officersשֹֽׁטְרֵי֙sho.te.ReiH7860of the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478cameוַיָּבֹ֗אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935and criedוַיִּצְעֲק֥וּvai.yitz.'a.KuH6817unto Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Wherefore dealestתַעֲשֶׂ֦הta.'a.SehH6213thou thus with thy servantsלַעֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃la.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650?

16There is no strawתֶּ֗בֶןTe.venH8401givenנִתָּן֙ni.TanH5414unto thy servantsלַעֲבָדֶ֔יךָla.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650,and they sayאֹמְרִ֥ים'o.me.RimH559to us, Makeעֲשׂ֑וּ'a.SuH6213brickוּלְבֵנִ֛יםu.le.ve.NimH3843:and, behold, thy servantsעֲבָדֶ֛יךָ'a.va.Dei.khaH5650arebeatenמֻכִּ֖יםmu.KimH5221;but the faultוְחָטָ֥אתve.cha.TatH2398isin thine own peopleעַמֶּֽךָ׃'a.Me.khaH5971.

17But he saidוַיֹּ֛אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Ye areidleנִרְפִּ֥יםnir.PimH7503, ye areidleנִרְפִּ֑יםnir.PimH7503:therefore ye sayאֹֽמְרִ֔ים'o.me.RimH559,Let us goH3212anddo sacrificeנִזְבְּחָ֥הniz.be.ChahH2076to the Lordלַֽיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.

18GoH3212therefore now, andworkעִבְד֔וּ'iv.DuH5647;for there shall no strawוְתֶ֖בֶןve.Te.venH8401be givenיִנָּתֵ֣ןyi.na.TenH5414you, yet shall ye deliverתִּתֵּֽנּוּ׃ti.Te.nuH5414the taleוְתֹ֥כֶןve.To.khenH8506of bricksלְבֵנִ֖יםle.ve.NimH3843.

19And the officersשֹֽׁטְרֵ֧יsho.te.ReiH7860of the childrenבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478did seeוַיִּרְא֞וּvai.yir.'UH7200that they werein evilבְּרָ֣עbe.Ra'H7451case,after it was saidלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Ye shall not minishתִגְרְע֥וּtig.re.'UH1639oughtfrom your bricksמִלִּבְנֵיכֶ֖םmi.liv.nei.KhemH3843of your dailyH3117taskדְּבַר־de.var-H1697.

20And they metוַֽיִּפְגְּעוּ֙vai.yif.ge.'UH6293Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronאַהֲרֹ֔ן'a.ha.RonH175,who stoodנִצָּבִ֖יםni.tza.VimH5324in the wayH7125,as they came forthבְּצֵאתָ֖םbe.tze.TamH3318from Pharaohפַּרְעֹֽה׃par.'OhH6547:

21And they saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto them, The Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068lookיֵ֧רֶאYe.re'H7200upon you, and judgeוְיִשְׁפֹּ֑טve.yish.PotH8199;because ye have made our savourרֵיחֵ֗נוּrei.Che.nuH7381to be abhorredהִבְאַשְׁתֶּ֣םhiv.'ash.TemH887in the eyesבְּעֵינֵ֤יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of Pharaohפַרְעֹה֙far.'OhH6547,and in the eyesוּבְעֵינֵ֣יu.ve.'ei.NeiH5869of his servantsעֲבָדָ֔יו'a.va.DavH5650,to putלָֽתֶת־la.tet-H5414a swordחֶ֥רֶבChe.revH2719in their handבְּיָדָ֖םbe.ya.DamH3027to slayלְהָרְגֵֽנוּ׃le.ha.re.Ge.nuH2026us.

22And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872returnedוַיָּ֧שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725unto the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559,Lordאֲדֹנָ֗י'a.do.NaiH136, wherefore hast thou soevil entreatedהֲרֵעֹ֙תָה֙ha.re.'O.tahH7489this peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971? why is it thatthou hast sentשְׁלַחְתָּֽנִי׃she.lach.Ta.niH7971me?

23For since I cameבָּ֤אתִיBa.tiH935to Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547to speakלְדַבֵּ֣רle.da.BerH1696in thy nameבִּשְׁמֶ֔ךָbish.Me.khaH8034,he hath done evilהֵרַ֖עhe.Ra'H7489to this peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971;neither hast thou deliveredוְהַצֵּ֥לve.ha.TzelH5337thy peopleעַמֶּֽךָ׃'a.Me.khaH5971at allהִצַּ֖לְתָּhi.Tzal.taH5337.
