1Now the Lordיְהֹוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872,sayingלֵּאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2“Tellדַּבֵּר֮da.BerH1696the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478to turnוְיָשֻׁ֗בוּve.ya.Shu.vuH7725backH7725and campוְיַחֲנוּ֙ve.ya.cha.NuH2583in frontלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440ofPi-hahirothH6367,betweenH996Migdolמִגְדֹּ֖לmig.DolH4024and the seaהַיָּ֑םhai.YamH3220;you shall campתַחֲנ֖וּta.cha.NuH2583in frontלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440of Baal-zephonH1189,oppositeנִכְח֥וֹnikh.ChoH5227it, by the seaהַיָּֽם׃hai.YamH3220.

3For Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547will sayוְאָמַ֤רve.'a.MarH559of the sonsלִבְנֵ֣יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, ‘They are wanderingH943aimlesslyH943in the landבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776;the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּֽר׃ha.mid.BarH4057has shutסָגַ֥רsa.GarH5462them inH5462.’

4And I willhardenוְחִזַּקְתִּ֣יve.chi.zak.TiH2388Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹה֮par.'OhH6547heartלֵב־lev-H3820, andhe will chaseוְרָדַ֣ףve.ra.DafH7291afterאַחֲרֵיהֶם֒'a.cha.rei.HemH310them; and I will be honoredוְאִכָּבְדָ֤הve.'i.ka.ve.DahH3513through Pharaohבְּפַרְעֹה֙be.far.'OhH6547and allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605his armyחֵיל֔וֹchei.LoH2428, andthe EgyptiansH4714will knowוְיָדְע֥וּve.ya.de.'UH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.”And they didוַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־vai.ya.'a.su-H6213soכֵֽן׃KhenH3651.

5When the kingלְמֶ֣לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714was toldוַיֻּגַּד֙vai.yu.GadH5046that the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971had fledבָרַ֖חva.RachH1272,Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֤הpar.'OhH6547and his servantsוַעֲבָדָיו֙va.'a.va.DavH5650hadH2015aH2015changeH2015of heartלְבַ֨בle.VavH3824towardאֶל־'el-H413the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,and they saidוַיֹּֽאמרוּ֙vai.yo.m.RuH559, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100is thisH2088thatwe have doneעָשִׂ֔ינוּ'a.Si.nuH6213,that we have letH7971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478goשִׁלַּ֥חְנוּshi.Lach.nuH7971from servingמֵעָבְדֵֽנוּ׃me.'a.ve.De.nuH5647us?”

6So he had horsesharnessedוַיֶּאְסֹ֖רvai.ye'.SorH631tohis chariotרִכְבּ֑וֹrikh.BoH7393and tookלָקַ֥חla.KachH3947his peopleעַמּ֖וֹa.MoH5971with him;

7and he tookוַיִּקַּ֗חvai.yi.KachH3947sixשֵׁשׁ־shesh-H8337hundredמֵא֥וֹתme.'otH3967selectבָּח֔וּרba.ChurH977chariotsרֶ֙כֶב֙re.khevH7393,and allוְכֹ֖לve.KholH3605the otherchariotsרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714with officersוְשָׁלִשִׁ֖םve.sha.li.ShimH7991overעַל־'al-H5921allכֻּלּֽוֹ׃ku.LoH3605of them.

8Sothe Lordיְהֹוָ֗הYah.wehH3068hardenedוַיְחַזֵּ֣קvay.cha.ZekH2388the heartלֵ֤בlevH3820of Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547,kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and he chasedוַיִּרְדֹּ֕ףvai.yir.DofH7291afterאַחֲרֵ֖י'a.cha.ReiH310the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478as the sonsוּבְנֵ֣יu.ve.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478were goingH3318outH3318boldlyבְּיָ֥ד רָמָֽה׃be.Yad ra.MahH7311 H3027.

9Thenthe EgyptiansH4714chasedוַיִּרְדְּפ֨וּvai.yir.de.FuH7291afterאַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them withallכָּל־kol-H3605the horsesסוּס֙susH5483andchariotsרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393of Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547,his horsemenוּפָרָשָׁ֖יוu.fa.ra.ShavH6571and his armyוְחֵיל֑וֹve.chei.LoH2428,and they overtookוַיַּשִּׂ֤יגוּvai.ya.Si.guH5381them campingחֹנִ֣יםcho.NimH2583by the seaהַיָּ֔םhai.YamH3220,besideH5921Pi-hahirothH6367,in frontלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440of Baal-zephonH1189.

10As Pharaohוּפַרְעֹ֖הu.far.'OhH6547approachedהִקְרִ֑יבhik.RivH7126,the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֨לYis.ra.'ElH3478lookedוַיִּשְׂאוּ֩ עֵינֵיהֶ֜םvai.yis.'U 'ei.nei.HemH5375 H5869,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009,the EgyptiansH4714were comingנֹסֵ֣עַno.Se.a'H5265afterאַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them, and they becameH3372veryמְאֹ֔דme.'OdH3966frightenedH3372;so the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478criedH6817outH6817to the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

11Thenthey saidוַיֹּאמְרוּ֮vai.yo.me.RuH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁה֒mo.ShehH4872, “Is it becauseהַֽמִבְּלִ֤יha.mi.be.LiH4480 H1097thereH369wereH369noH369gravesקְבָרִים֙ke.va.RimH6913in Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֔יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714that you have takenלְקַחְתָּ֖נוּle.kach.Ta.nuH3947us away to dieלָמ֣וּתla.MutH4191in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057?Whyמַה־mah-H4100have you dealtעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213with us in thisH2088wayH2088,bringingH3318us outH3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714?

12Is thisזֶ֣הzehH2088not the wordהַדָּבָ֗רha.da.VarH1697that we spokeדִּבַּ֨רְנוּdi.Bar.nuH1696to you in Egyptבְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ve.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Leaveחֲדַ֥לcha.DalH2308us aloneH4480so that we may serveוְנַֽעַבְדָ֣הve.na.'av.DahH5647the EgyptiansH4714’?For it would have been betterט֥וֹבTovH2896for us to serveעֲבֹ֣ד'a.VodH5647the EgyptiansH4714thanH4480to dieמִמֻּתֵ֖נוּmi.mu.Te.nuH4191in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057!”

13But Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the peopleהָעָם֮ha.'AmH5971, “Do not fearתִּירָאוּ֒ti.ra.'UH3372!Standהִֽתְיַצְב֗וּhit.yatz.VuH3320by and seeוּרְאוּ֙u.re.'UH7200the salvationיְשׁוּעַ֣תye.shu.'AtH3444of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834He will performיַעֲשֶׂ֥הya.'a.SehH6213for you todayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117;for the EgyptiansH4714whomאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834you have seenרְאִיתֶ֤םre.'i.TemH7200todayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117,you will neverלֹ֥א ע֖וֹדlo' odH3808 H5750seeלִרְאֹתָ֥םlir.'o.TamH7200them againתֹסִ֛יפוּto.Si.fuH3254,everעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃'ad- o.LamH5704 H5769.

14The Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068will fightיִלָּחֵ֣םyi.la.ChemH3898for you, whileyou keepתַּחֲרִישֽׁוּן׃ פta.cha.ri.ShunH2790silentH2790.”
