1Then the LORDיְהֹוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696toאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃mo.Sheh le.MorH4872 H559,

2“Tellדַּבֵּר֮da.BerH1696the Israelitesבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒be.Nei Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478toאֶל־'el-H413turn backוְיָשֻׁ֗בוּve.ya.Shu.vuH7725and encampוְיַחֲנוּ֙ve.ya.cha.NuH2583beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440Pi-hahirothH6367,betweenבֵּ֥יןbeinH996Migdolמִגְדֹּ֖ל וּבֵ֣יןmig.Dol u.VeinH4024 H996and the seaהַיָּ֑םhai.YamH3220.You are to encampתַחֲנ֖וּta.cha.NuH2583byעַל־'al-H5921the seaהַיָּֽם׃hai.YamH3220,directly oppositeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440Baal-zephonנִכְח֥וֹnikh.ChoH1189 H5227.

3For Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547will sayוְאָמַ֤רve.'a.MarH559of the Israelitesלִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔לliv.Nei Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478, ‘Theyהֵ֖םhemH1992are wandering the landבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776in confusionנְבֻכִ֥יםne.vu.KhimH943;the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּֽר׃ha.mid.BarH4057has boxed themסָגַ֥רsa.GarH5462inעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH5921.’

4And I will hardenוְחִזַּקְתִּ֣יve.chi.zak.TiH2388אֶת־'et-H853Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹה֮par.'OhH6547heartלֵב־lev-H3820so that he will pursueוְרָדַ֣ףve.ra.DafH7291themאַחֲרֵיהֶם֒'a.cha.rei.HemH310.But I will gain honorוְאִכָּבְדָ֤הve.'i.ka.ve.DahH3513by means of Pharaohבְּפַרְעֹה֙be.far.'OhH6547and allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605his armyחֵיל֔וֹchei.LoH2428,and the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4713will knowוְיָדְע֥וּve.ya.de.'UH3045thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588Iאֲנִ֣י'a.NiH589am the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.”So this is whatכֵֽן׃KhenH3651the Israelites didוַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־vai.ya.'a.su-H6213.

5When the kingלְמֶ֣לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714was toldוַיֻּגַּד֙vai.yu.GadH5046thatכִּ֥יkiH3588the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971had fledבָרַ֖חva.RachH1272,Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֤הpar.'OhH6547and his officialsוַעֲבָדָיו֙va.'a.va.DavH5650changedוַ֠יֵּהָפֵךְVai.ye.ha.fekhH2015their mindsלְבַ֨בle.VavH3824aboutאֶל־'el-H413themהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971and saidוַיֹּֽאמרוּ֙vai.yo.m.RuH559, “Whatמַה־ זֹּ֣אתmah- zotH4100 H2063have we doneעָשִׂ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־'a.Si.nu ki-H6213 H3588?We have releasedשִׁלַּ֥חְנוּshi.Lach.nuH7971אֶת־'et-H853Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478from serving usמֵעָבְדֵֽנוּ׃me.'a.ve.De.nuH5647.”

6So Pharaoh preparedוַיֶּאְסֹ֖רvai.ye'.SorH631אֶת־'et-H853his chariotרִכְבּ֑וֹrikh.BoH7393וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and tookלָקַ֥חla.KachH3947his armyעַמּ֖וֹa.MoH5971with himעִמּֽוֹ׃i.MoH5973.

7He tookוַיִּקַּ֗חvai.yi.KachH3947600שֵׁשׁ־ מֵא֥וֹתshesh- me.'otH8337 H3967of the bestבָּח֔וּרba.ChurH977chariotsרֶ֙כֶב֙re.khevH7393,and allוְכֹ֖לve.KholH3605the other chariotsרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,with officersוְשָׁלִשִׁ֖םve.sha.li.ShimH7991overעַל־'al-H5921all of themכֻּלּֽוֹ׃ku.LoH3605.

8And the LORDיְהֹוָ֗הYah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853hardenedוַיְחַזֵּ֣קvay.cha.ZekH2388the heartלֵ֤בlevH3820of Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714so that he pursuedוַיִּרְדֹּ֕ף אַחֲרֵ֖יvai.yir.Dof 'a.cha.ReiH7291 H310the Israelitesבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑לbe.Nei Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478וּבְנֵ֣יu.ve.NeiH1121יִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,who were marching outיֹצְאִ֖יםyo.tze.'ImH3318defiantlyבְּיָ֥ד רָמָֽה׃be.Yad ra.MahH3027 H7311.

9The Egyptiansמִצְרַ֜יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4713—allכָּל־kol-H3605Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547horsesסוּס֙susH5483and chariotsרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393,horsemenוּפָרָשָׁ֖יוu.fa.ra.ShavH6571and troopsוְחֵיל֑וֹve.chei.LoH2428—pursuedוַיִּרְדְּפ֨וּvai.yir.de.FuH7291the Israelitesandאַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310overtookוַיַּשִּׂ֤יגוּvai.ya.Si.guH5381themאוֹתָם֙'o.TamH853as they campedחֹנִ֣יםcho.NimH2583byעַל־'al-H5921the seaהַיָּ֔םhai.YamH3220nearעַל־'al-H5921Pi-hahirothH6367,oppositeלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440Baal-zephonH1189.

10As Pharaohוּפַרְעֹ֖הu.far.'OhH6547approachedהִקְרִ֑יבhik.RivH7126,the Israelitesבְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨לve.nei- Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478אֶת־'et-H853looked upוַיִּשְׂאוּ֩ עֵינֵיהֶ֜םvai.yis.'U 'ei.nei.HemH5375 H5869and sawוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֣יִם׀mitz.Ra.yimH4713marchingנֹסֵ֣עַno.Se.a'H5265after themאַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310,andבְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖לve.nei- Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478theywere terrifiedוַיִּֽירְאוּ֙ מְאֹ֔דvai.yi.re.'U me.'OdH3372 H3966and cried outוַיִּצְעֲק֥וּvai.yitz.'a.KuH6817toאֶל־'el-H413the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

11They saidוַיֹּאמְרוּ֮vai.yo.me.RuH559toאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁה֒mo.ShehH4872, “Was it becauseאֵין־'ein-H369there were noהַֽמִבְּלִ֤יha.mi.be.LiH1097gravesקְבָרִים֙ke.va.RimH6913in Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֔יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714that you brought usלְקַחְתָּ֖נוּle.kach.Ta.nuH3947into the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057to dieלָמ֣וּתla.MutH4191?Whatמַה־ זֹּאת֙mah- zoTH4100 H2063have you doneעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213to usby bringing us outלְהוֹצִיאָ֖נוּle.ho.tzi.'A.nuH3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714?

12Did we notהֲלֹא־ha.lo'-H3808זֶ֣הzehH2088הַדָּבָ֗רha.da.VarH1697אֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834sayדִּבַּ֨רְנוּdi.Bar.nuH1696to youאֵלֶ֤יךָ'e.Lei.khaH413in Egyptבְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ לֵאמֹ֔רve.mitz.Ra.yim le.MorH4714 H559, ‘Leave us aloneחֲדַ֥ל מִמֶּ֖נּוּcha.Dal mi.Me.nuH2308 H4480so that we may serveוְנַֽעַבְדָ֣הve.na.'av.DahH5647אֶת־'et-H853the Egyptiansמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4713’?Forכִּ֣יkiH3588it would have been betterט֥וֹבTovH2896for usto serveעֲבֹ֣ד'a.VodH5647אֶת־'et-H853the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4713than to dieמִמֻּתֵ֖נוּmi.mu.Te.nuH4191in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.”

13But Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872toldוַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֶל־vai.Yo.mer 'el-H559 H413the peopleהָעָם֮ha.'AmH5971, “Do notאַל־'al-H408be afraidתִּירָאוּ֒ti.ra.'UH3372.Stand firmהִֽתְיַצְב֗וּhit.yatz.VuH3320and you will seeוּרְאוּ֙u.re.'UH7200אֶת־'et-H853the LORD’sיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834salvationיְשׁוּעַ֣תye.shu.'AtH3444,which He will accomplishיַעֲשֶׂ֥הya.'a.SehH6213for youtodayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117;forכִּ֗יKiH3588the Egyptiansאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834you see todayרְאִיתֶ֤םre.'i.TemH7200אֶת־'et-H853מִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4713הַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117,you will neverלֹ֥א עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃lo' 'ad- o.LamH3808 H5704 H5769seeלִרְאֹתָ֥םlir.'o.TamH7200againתֹסִ֛יפוּ ע֖וֹדto.Si.fu odH3254 H5750.

14The LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068will fightיִלָּחֵ֣םyi.la.ChemH3898for you;youוְאַתֶּ֖םve.'a.TemH859need only to be stillתַּחֲרִישֽׁוּן׃ פta.cha.ri.ShunH2790.”
