Joshua 17:12-18
12But the children of ManassehH4519 could not dispossessH3423 [the inhabitantsH3427 of] those citiesH5892; and the CanaanitesH3669 would dwellH3427 in that landH776. 13And it came to pass when the children of IsraelH3478 wereH1961 becomeH1961 strongH2388, that they madeH5414 the CanaanitesH3669 tributary; but they did not utterly dispossessH3423 them. 14And the children of JosephH3130 spokeH1696 to JoshuaH3091, sayingH559, WhyH4069 hast thou givenH5414 me as inheritanceH5159 oneH259 lotH1486 and oneH259 portionH1486, seeing I am a greatH7227 peopleH5971, forasmuch as Jehovah has blessedH1288 me hitherto? 15And JoshuaH3091 saidH559 unto them, If thou art a greatH7227 peopleH5971, then get thee up to the wood, and cut down for thyself there in the landH776 of the Perizzites and of the giants, if the hill-country of EphraimH669 is tooH7227 narrow for thee. 16And the children of JosephH3130 saidH559, The hill-country will not be enough for us; and all the CanaanitesH3669 that dwellH3427 in the landH776 of the valleyH6010 have chariotsH7393 of ironH1270, those that are of Beth-sheanH1052 and its dependent villages, and those that are in the valleyH6010 of Jizreel. 17And JoshuaH3091 spoke to the houseH1004 of JosephH3130, to EphraimH669 and to ManassehH4519, sayingH559, Thou art a greatH1419 peopleH5971, and hast greatH1419 powerH3581: thou shalt not have oneH259 lotH1486 only, 18but the hill-country shall beH1961 thine, as it is a wood, thou shalt cut it down, and its outgoings shall beH1961 thine; for thou shalt dispossessH3423 the CanaanitesH3669, though they have ironH1270 chariotsH7393; for they are powerful.
