Joshua 10:3-27
And Adoni-zedekH139 kingH4428 of JerusalemH3389 sentH7971 to Hoham kingH4428 of HebronH2275, and to Piream kingH4428 of JarmuthH3412, and to JaphiaH3309 kingH4428 of LachishH3923, and to DebirH1688 kingH4428 of EglonH5700, sayingH559,
ComeH5927 up to me, and helpH5826 me, that we may smite GibeonH1391; for it has made peace with JoshuaH3091 and with the children of IsraelH3478.
And the fiveH2568 kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567, the kingH4428 of JerusalemH3389, the kingH4428 of HebronH2275, the kingH4428 of JarmuthH3412, the kingH4428 of LachishH3923, [and] the kingH4428 of EglonH5700, gatheredH622 themselves together, and wentH5927 up, they and all their armiesH4264, and they encampedH2583 before GibeonH1391, and made war against it.
And the menH376 of GibeonH1391 sentH7971 to JoshuaH3091, to the campH4264 at GilgalH1537, sayingH559, Withdraw not thy handH3027 from thy servantsH5650: comeH5927 up to us quicklyH4120, and saveH3467 us and helpH5826 us; for all the kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567 that dwellH3427 in the hill-country are gatheredH6908 against us.
So JoshuaH3091 wentH5927 up from GilgalH1537, he and all the peopleH5971 of warH4421 with him, even all the valiant menH1368.
And Jehovah saidH559 to JoshuaH3091, FearH3372 them not; for into thy handH3027 have I givenH5414 them: not a manH376 of them shall standH5975 before thee.
And JoshuaH3091 cameH935 upon them suddenlyH6597; he wentH935 up from GilgalH1537 all nightH3915.
And Jehovah discomfited them before IsraelH3478, and smote them [with] a greatH1419 slaughterH4347 at GibeonH1391; and he chased them on the wayH1870 of the ascent of Beth-horonH1032, and smote them up to AzekahH5825 and MakkedahH4719.
And it came to pass, as they fledH5127 from before IsraelH3478, — they were at the descentH4174 of Beth-horonH1032, — that Jehovah castH7993 downH7993 greatH1419 stonesH68 from heavenH8064 upon them up to AzekahH5825, and they diedH4191. They were moreH4480 who diedH4191 with the hailstones than they whom the children of IsraelH3478 had slainH2026 with the swordH2719.
ThenH227 spokeH1696 JoshuaH3091 to Jehovah in the dayH3117 when Jehovah gaveH5414 up the AmoritesH567 before the children of IsraelH3478, and he saidH559 in the sight of IsraelH3478, SunH8121, stand still upon GibeonH1391; And thou, moonH3394, in the valleyH6010 of Ajalon!
And the sunH8121 stoodH5975 stillH5975, and the moonH3394 remainedH5975 where it was, until the nationH1471 had avengedH5358 themselves upon their enemiesH341. Is not this writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of Jasher? And the sunH8121 remainedH5975 standingH5975 in the midst of heavenH8064, and hasted not to goH935 down about a full dayH3117.
And there wasH1961 no dayH3117 like that before it or after it, that Jehovah hearkened to the voiceH6963 of a manH376; for Jehovah foughtH3898 for IsraelH3478.
And JoshuaH3091 returnedH7725, and all IsraelH3478 with him, to the campH4264, to GilgalH1537.
And these fiveH2568 kingsH4428 fledH5127, and hidH2244 themselves in the caveH4631 at MakkedahH4719.
And it was toldH5046 JoshuaH3091, sayingH559, The fiveH2568 kingsH4428 have been foundH4672, hidH2244 in the caveH4631 at MakkedahH4719.
And JoshuaH3091 saidH559, RollH1556 greatH1419 stonesH68 before the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631, and set menH376 before it to keepH8104 them.
And ye, stay not, pursueH7291 after your enemiesH341, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their citiesH5892; for Jehovah your 1GodH430 has givenH5414 them into your handH3027.
And it cameH935 to pass when JoshuaH3091 and the children of IsraelH3478 had endedH8552 smiting them with a veryH3966 greatH1419 slaughterH4347, until they wereH1961 consumed, that the remnant which remained of them entered into fortified citiesH5892;
and all the peopleH5971 returnedH7725 to the campH4264 to JoshuaH3091, at MakkedahH4719, in peaceH7965; none moved his tongueH3956 against the children of IsraelH3478.
And JoshuaH3091 saidH559, OpenH6605 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631, and bringH3318 forthH3318 to me those fiveH2568 kingsH4428 out of the caveH4631.
And they did soH3651, and broughtH3318 forthH3318 to him those fiveH2568 kingsH4428 out of the caveH4631, the kingH4428 of JerusalemH3389, the kingH4428 of HebronH2275, the kingH4428 of JarmuthH3412, the kingH4428 of LachishH3923, the kingH4428 of EglonH5700.
And it came to pass when they had broughtH3318 forthH3318 those kingsH4428 to JoshuaH3091, that JoshuaH3091 calledH7121 to all the menH376 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559 to the captains of the menH376 of warH4421 who wentH1980 with him, ComeH1980 forward, putH7760 your feetH7272 on the necksH6677 of these kingsH4428. And they came forward and putH7760 their feetH7272 on their necksH6677.
And JoshuaH3091 saidH559 to them, FearH3372 not, neither be dismayedH2865; be strongH2388 and courageousH553, for thusH3602 will Jehovah do to all your enemiesH341 against whom ye fightH3898.
And afterwards JoshuaH3091 smote them, and putH4191 them to deathH4191, and hangedH8518 them on fiveH2568 treesH6086; and they wereH1961 hangingH8518 upon the treesH6086 until the eveningH6153.
And it cameH935 to pass at the timeH6256 of the goingH935 downH3381 of the sunH8121, that JoshuaH3091 commandedH6680, and they took them downH3381 off the treesH6086, and castH7993 them into the caveH4631 whereH834 they had beenH1961 hidH2244, and laid greatH1419 stonesH68 before the cave's mouthH6310, [which remain] to this very dayH3117.
