Job 1:8-22

8And Jehovah saidH559 to Satan, Hast thou considered my servantH5650 JobH347, that there is none like him on the earthH776, a perfectH8535 and an uprightH3477 manH376, oneH376 that feareth 1GodH430 and abstaineth from evilH7451? 9And Satan answered Jehovah and saidH559, Doth JobH347 fearH3372 2GodH430 for nought? 10Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his houseH1004, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessedH1288 the workH4639 of his handsH3027, and his substance is spreadH6555 abroad in the landH776. 11But put forthH7971 thy handH3027 now and touchH5060 all that he hath, [and see] if he will not curse thee to thy faceH6440! 12And Jehovah saidH559 to Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy handH3027; onlyH7535 upon himself put not forthH3318 thy handH3027. So Satan wentH3318 forthH3318 from the presenceH6440 of Jehovah. 13And there wasH1961 a dayH3117 when his sonsH1121 and his daughtersH1323 wereH1961 eatingH398 and drinkingH8354 wineH3196 in the houseH1004 of their brotherH251, the firstbornH1060. 14And there cameH935 a messengerH4397 to JobH347 and saidH559, The oxenH1241 wereH1961 ploughing, and the asses feeding beside them; 15and [they of] ShebaH7614 fellH5307 [upon them] and tookH3947 them, and the servantsH5288 have they smitten with the edge of the swordH2719; and I onlyH7535 am escapedH4422, aloneH905, to tellH5046 thee. 16While he was yetH5750 speakingH1696, there cameH935 another and saidH559, The fireH784 of 3GodH430 fellH5307 from heavenH8064 and burnedH1197 up the sheepH6629 and the servantsH5288, and consumedH398 them; and I onlyH7535 am escapedH4422, aloneH905, to tellH5046 thee. 17While he was yetH5750 speakingH1696, there cameH935 another and saidH559, The ChaldeansH3778 madeH7760 threeH7969 bands, and fell upon the camelsH1581 and tookH3947 them, and the servantsH5288 have they smitten with the edge of the swordH2719; and I onlyH7535 am escapedH4422, aloneH905, to tellH5046 thee. 18While he was yet speakingH1696, there cameH935 another and saidH559, Thy sonsH1121 and thy daughtersH1323 were eatingH398 and drinkingH8354 wineH3196 in the houseH1004 of their brotherH251, the firstbornH1060; 19and behold, there cameH935 a greatH1419 windH7307 from over the wildernessH4057, and smote the fourH702 cornersH6438 of the houseH1004, and it fellH5307 upon the youngH5288 menH5288, and they diedH4191; and I onlyH7535 am escapedH4422, aloneH905, to tellH5046 thee. 20And JobH347 roseH6965 up, and rent his mantle, and shaved his headH7218, and fellH5307 downH7812 on the groundH776, and worshipped; 21and he saidH559, NakedH6174 came I out of my mother's wombH990, and nakedH6174 shall I returnH7725 thither: Jehovah gaveH5414, and Jehovah hath takenH3947 awayH7725; blessedH1288 beH1961 the nameH8034 of Jehovah! 22In all this JobH347 sinnedH2398 not, nor ascribed anything unseemly to 4GodH430.
