Kings 20:30-42

And the rest fledH5127 to AphekH663, into the cityH5892; and the wallH2346 fellH5307 on twenty-seven thousandH505 menH376 of them that were leftH3498. And Ben-HadadH1130 fledH5127, and cameH935 into the cityH5892, [from] chamberH2315 to chamberH2315.

And his servantsH5650 saidH559 to him, Behold now, we have heardH8085 that the kingsH4428 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 are merciful kingsH4428: let us, I pray thee, putH7760 sackclothH8242 on our loinsH4975, and ropesH2256 upon our headsH7218, and goH3318 out to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478; perhapsH194 he will save thy lifeH5315.

And they girdedH2296 sackclothH8242 on their loinsH4975, and ropesH2256 on their headsH7218, and cameH935 to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559, Thy servantH5650 Ben-HadadH1130 saysH559, I pray thee, let me liveH2421. And he saidH559, Is he yetH5750 aliveH2416? he is my brotherH251.

And the menH376 tookH3947 it as a good omen, and hastenedH4116 to catch what cameH935 from him, and they saidH559, Thy brotherH251 Ben-HadadH1130. ...And he saidH559, GoH3318, bringH935 him. And Ben-HadadH1130 cameH935 forthH3318 to him; and he caused him to comeH935 up into the chariotH4818.

And [Ben-Hadad] saidH559 to him, The citiesH5892 that my fatherH1 tookH3947 from thy fatherH1 I will restoreH7725; and thou shalt makeH7760 streetsH2351 for thyself in DamascusH1834, as my fatherH1 madeH3772 in SamariaH8111. And I [saidH559 Ahab] will sendH7971 thee awayH7971 with this covenantH1285. So he madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with him, and sentH7971 him awayH7971.

And a certain manH376 of the sonsH1121 of the prophetsH5030 saidH559 to another by the wordH1697 of Jehovah, Smite me, I pray thee. But the manH376 refusedH3985 to smite him.

Then saidH559 he to him, Because thou hast not hearkened to the voiceH6963 of Jehovah, behold, whenH834 thou departest from me, the lionH738 will slay thee. And whenH834 he had departed from him, the lionH738 foundH4672 him and slew him.

Then he foundH4672 another manH376, and saidH559, Smite me, I pray thee. And the manH376 smote him violently, and woundedH5221 [him].

And the prophetH5030 departed, and waited for the kingH4428 by the wayH1870, and disguisedH2664 himself with a sash over his eyesH5869.

And as the kingH4428 passedH5674 by, he criedH6817 to the kingH4428 and saidH559, Thy servantH5650 wentH3318 out into the midstH7130 of the battleH4421; and behold, a manH376 turnedH5493 asideH5493, and broughtH935 a manH376 to me and saidH559, KeepH8104 this manH376; if by any means he beH1961 missingH6485, then shall thy lifeH5315 beH1961 for his lifeH5315, or thou shalt pay a talentH3603 of silverH3701.

And as thy servantH5650 was busy hereH2008 and there, he was gone. And the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 saidH559 to him, SoH3651 [is] thy judgmentH4941: thyself hast decided [it].

Then he hastily took the sash awayH5493 from his face; and the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 discerned him, that he was of the prophetsH5030.

And he saidH559 to him, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: Because thou hast let goH7971 out of thy handH3027 the manH376 that I had devoted to destruction, thy lifeH5315 shall beH1961 for his lifeH5315, and thy peopleH5971 for his peopleH5971.
