1 Kings 20:30-42
30But the rest fledH5127 to AphekH663, into the cityH5892; and the wallH2346 fellH5307 upon twentyH6242 and sevenH7651 thousandH505 menH376 that were leftH3498. And Ben-hadadH1130 fledH5127, and cameH935 into the cityH5892, into an innerH2315 chamberH2315.
31And his servantsH5650 saidH559 unto him, Behold now, we have heardH8085 that the kingsH4428 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 are merciful kingsH4428: let us, we pray thee, putH7760 sackclothH8242 on our loinsH4975, and ropesH2256 upon our headsH7218, and goH3318 out to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478: peradventure he will save thy lifeH5315. 32So they girdedH2296 sackclothH8242 on their loinsH4975, and put ropesH2256 on their headsH7218, and cameH935 to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559, Thy servantH5650 Ben-hadadH1130 saith, I pray thee, let me liveH2421. And he saidH559, Is he yetH5750 aliveH2416? he is my brotherH251. 33Now the menH376 observed diligently, and hasted to catch whether it were his mind; and they saidH559, Thy brotherH251 Ben-hadadH1130. Then he saidH559, GoH3318 ye, bringH935 him. Then Ben-hadadH1130 cameH935 forthH3318 to him; and he caused him to comeH935 up into the chariotH4818. 34And Ben-hadad saidH559 unto him, The citiesH5892 which my fatherH1 tookH3947 from thy fatherH1 I will restoreH7725; and thou shalt makeH7760 streetsH2351 for thee in DamascusH1834, as my fatherH1 madeH3772 in SamariaH8111. And I, saidH559 Ahab, will let thee goH7971 with this covenantH1285. So he madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with him, and let him goH7971.
35And a certain manH376 of the sonsH1121 of the prophetsH5030 saidH559 unto his fellow by the wordH1697 of Jehovah, Smite me, I pray thee. And the manH376 refusedH3985 to smite him. 36Then saidH559 he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voiceH6963 of Jehovah, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lionH738 shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lionH738 foundH4672 him, and slew him. 37Then he foundH4672 another manH376, and saidH559, Smite me, I pray thee. And the manH376 smote him, smiting and wounding him. 38So the prophetH5030 departed, and waited for the kingH4428 by the wayH1870, and disguisedH2664 himself with his headband over his eyesH5869. 39And as the kingH4428 passedH5674 by, he criedH6817 unto the kingH4428; and he saidH559, Thy servantH5650 wentH3318 out into the midstH7130 of the battleH4421; and, behold, a manH376 turnedH5493 asideH5493, and broughtH935 a manH376 unto me, and saidH559, KeepH8104 this manH376: if by any means he beH1961 missingH6485, then shall thy lifeH5315 beH1961 for his lifeH5315, or else thou shalt pay a talentH3603 of silverH3701. 40And as thy servantH5650 was busy hereH2008 and there, he was gone. And the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 saidH559 unto him, SoH3651 shall thy judgmentH4941 beH1961; thyself hast decided it. 41And he hasted, and took the headband awayH5493 from his eyesH5869; and the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 discerned him that he was of the prophetsH5030. 42And he saidH559 unto him, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah, Because thou hast let goH7971 out of thy handH3027 the manH376 whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore thy lifeH5315 shall goH7971 for his lifeH5315, and thy peopleH5971 for his peopleH5971.
