Kings 18:17-39

And it came to pass when AhabH256 sawH7200 ElijahH452, that AhabH256 saidH559 to him, Is it thou, the troubler of IsraelH3478?

And he saidH559, I have not troubledH5916 IsraelH3478, but thou and thy father's houseH1004, in that ye have forsaken the commandmentsH4687 of Jehovah, and thou hast followed the BaalsH1168.

And nowH6258 sendH7971, gatherH6908 to me all IsraelH3478 to mount CarmelH3760, and the prophetsH5030 of BaalH1168 fourH702 hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572, and the prophetsH5030 of the AsherahH842 fourH702 hundredH3967, who eatH398 at Jezebel's tableH7979.

So AhabH256 sentH7971 to all the children of IsraelH3478, and gatheredH6908 the prophetsH5030 togetherH6908 unto mount CarmelH3760.

Then ElijahH452 drewH5066 near to all the peopleH5971, and saidH559, How long do ye halt between twoH8147 opinions? if Jehovah be 1GodH430, follow him; and if BaalH1168, follow him. And the peopleH5971 answered him not a wordH1697.

And ElijahH452 saidH559 to the peopleH5971, I, onlyH905 I, remainH3498 a prophetH5030 of Jehovah; and Baal's prophetsH5030 are fourH702 hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 menH376.

Let them therefore giveH5414 us twoH8147 bullocks: and let them chooseH977 oneH259 bullock for themselves, and cutH5408 it in pieces, and putH5414 it on the woodH6086, and putH5414 no fireH784; and I will sacrifice the other bullock, and putH5414 it on the woodH6086, and putH5414 no fireH784.

And callH7121 ye on the nameH8034 of your 2godsH430, and I will callH7121 on the nameH8034 of Jehovah; and the 3godH430 that answers by fireH784, let him beH1961 4GodH430. And all the peopleH5971 answered and saidH559, The wordH1697 is goodH2896.

And ElijahH452 saidH559 to the prophetsH5030 of BaalH1168, ChooseH977 oneH259 bullock for yourselves, and sacrifice it firstH7223; for ye are the manyH7227; and callH7121 on the nameH8034 of your 5godH430, but putH7760 no fireH784.

And they tookH3947 the bullock which had been givenH5414 them, and sacrificed it, and calledH7121 on the nameH8034 of BaalH1168 from morningH1242 until noonH6672, sayingH559, O BaalH1168, answerH6030 us! But there was no voiceH6963, and none answered. And they leaped about the altarH4196 that had been madeH6213.

And it came to pass at noonH6672 that ElijahH452 mocked them and saidH559, Cry aloud; for he is a 6godH430; for he is meditating, or gone aside, or he is on a journeyH1870; perhapsH194 he sleeps, and will awake.

And they cried aloud, and cutH1413 themselves after their manner with swordsH2719 and spearsH7420, till the bloodH1818 gushed out upon them.

And it came to passH5674 when midday was past, that they prophesiedH5012 until the [time] of the offeringH4503 up of the oblation; but there was neither voiceH6963, nor any that answeredH6030, nor any attentionH7182.

Then ElijahH452 saidH559 to all the peopleH5971, DrawH5066 near to me. And all the peopleH5971 drewH5066 near to him. And he repairedH7495 the altarH4196 of Jehovah which was brokenH2040 downH2040.

And ElijahH452 tookH3947 twelve stonesH68, according to the numberH4557 of the tribesH7626 of the sonsH1121 of JacobH3290, to whom the wordH1697 of Jehovah came sayingH559, IsraelH3478 shall beH1961 thy nameH8034;

and with the stonesH68 he builtH1129 an altarH4196 in the nameH8034 of Jehovah, and madeH6213 a trench roundH5439 about the altarH4196, of the capacity of two measures of seedH2233;

and he putH7760 the woodH6086 in order, and cutH5408 the bullock in pieces, and laid it on the woodH6086. And he said, Fill four pitchers with water, and pour it on the burnt-offering, and on the woodH6086.

And he saidH559, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he saidH559, Do it the thirdH8027 time. And they did it the thirdH8027 time.

And the waterH4325 ran roundH5439 about the altarH4196; and he filledH4390 the trench alsoH1571 with waterH4325.

And it came to pass at [the time of] the offeringH4503 up of the oblation, that ElijahH452 the prophetH5030 drewH5066 near, and saidH559, Jehovah, 7GodH430 of AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327 and IsraelH3478, let it beH1961 knownH3045 this dayH3117 that thou art 8GodH430 in IsraelH3478, and that I am thy servantH5650, and that I have done all these thingsH1697 by thy wordH1697.

AnswerH6030 me, Jehovah, answerH6030 me, that this peopleH5971 may knowH3045 that thou Jehovah art 9GodH430, and [that] thou hast turnedH5437 their heartH3820 back again.

And the fireH784 of Jehovah fellH5307, and consumedH398 the burnt-offering, and the woodH6086, and the stonesH68, and the dustH6083, and lickedH3897 up the waterH4325 that was in the trench.

And all the peopleH5971 sawH7200 [it], and they fellH5307 on their facesH6440 and saidH559, Jehovah, he is 10GodH430! Jehovah, he is 11GodH430!
