1 Kings 12:25-33
25And JeroboamH3379 builtH1129 ShechemH7927 in mount EphraimH669, and dweltH3427 therein; and wentH3318 out from thence, and builtH1129 PenuelH6439. 26And JeroboamH3379 saidH559 in his heartH3820, NowH6258 shall the kingdomH4467 returnH7725 to the houseH1004 of DavidH1732. 27If this peopleH5971 goH5927 up to do sacrificeH2077 in the houseH1004 of Jehovah at JerusalemH3389, the heartH3820 of this peopleH5971 will turnH7725 again to their lord, to RehoboamH7346 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, and they will killH2026 me, and returnH7725 to RehoboamH7346 kingH4428 of JudahH3063. 28And the kingH4428 took counselH3289, and madeH6213 twoH8147 calvesH5695 of goldH2091. And he saidH559 to them, It is tooH7227 muchH7227 for you to goH5927 up to JerusalemH3389: behold thy 1godsH430, IsraelH3478, which broughtH5927 thee up out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714! 29And he setH7760 the oneH259 in Bethel, and the other he putH5414 in DanH1835. 30And this thingH1697 becameH1961 a sinH2403; and the peopleH5971 went [to worship] before the oneH259, as far as DanH1835. 31And he madeH6213 a houseH1004 of highH1116 placesH1116, and madeH6213 priestsH3548 from all classes of the peopleH5971, who were not of the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878. 32And JeroboamH3379 ordained a feastH2282 in the eighthH8066 monthH2320, on the fifteenth dayH3117 of the monthH2320, like the feastH2282 that was in JudahH3063, and he offeredH5927 upon the altarH4196. SoH3651 did he in Bethel, sacrificingH2076 to the calvesH5695 that he had madeH6213; and he placed in Bethel the priestsH3548 of the highH1116 placesH1116 that he had madeH6213. 33And he offeredH5927 upon the altarH4196 that he had madeH6213 in Bethel, on the fifteenth dayH3117 of the eighthH8066 monthH2320, in the monthH2320 which he had devised of his own heart; and he madeH6213 a feastH2282 for the children of IsraelH3478, and he offeredH5927 upon the altarH4196, burning incenseH6999.
