Jeremiah 13:9-27

9“This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 saysH559: In the same wayH3602 I will ruinH7843 the prideH1347 of JudahH3063 andH853 the greatH7227 prideH1347 of JerusalemH3389. 10TheseH2088 evilH7451 peopleH5971, who refuseH3987 to listenH8085 to My wordsH1697, who followH1980 the stubbornnessH8307 of their own heartsH3820, and who goH1980 afterH310 otherH312 godsH430 to serveH5647 and worshipH7812 them, they will beH1961 like thisH2088 loinclothH232—of noH3808 useH6743 at allH3605.

11ForH3588 just asH834 a loinclothH232 clingsH1692 toH413 a man’sH376 waistH4975, so I have madeH3651 the wholeH3605 houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 andH853 the wholeH3605 houseH1004 of JudahH3063 clingH1692 to MeH413, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068, so that they might beH1961 My peopleH5971 for My renownH8034 and praiseH8416 and gloryH8597. But they did notH3808 listenH8085.

12Therefore you are to tellH559 themH2088 thatH413 this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saysH559: ‘EveryH3605 wineskinH5035 shall be filledH4390 with wineH3196.’

And when they replyH559, ‘Don’t weH3808 surelyH3045 knowH3045 thatH3588 everyH3605 wineskinH5035 should be filledH4390 with wineH3196?’ 13then you are to tellH559 themH413 that this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068H2005 saysH559: ‘I am going to fillH4390 with drunkennessH7943 allH3605 who liveH3427 in thisH2063 landH776—the kingsH4428 who sitH3427 on David’sH1732 throneH3678, the priestsH3548, the prophetsH5030, and allH3605 the peopleH3427 of JerusalemH3389. 14I will smash themH5310 againstH413 oneH376 anotherH251, fathersH1 and sonsH1121 alikeH3162, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068. I will allow noH3808 mercyH2550 or pityH2347 or compassionH7355 to keep Me from destroying themH7843.’”
