Isaiah 21:1-9
1This is the burdenH4853 against the DesertH4057 by the SeaH3220:
Like whirlwindsH5492 sweepingH2498 through the NegevH5045,an invader comesH935 from the desertH4057,from a landH776 of terrorH3372.2A direH7186 visionH2380 is declaredH5046 to me:“The traitorH898 still betraysH898,and the destroyerH7703 still destroysH7703.Go upH5927, O ElamH5867! Lay siegeH6696, O MediaH4074!I will put an endH7673 to allH3605 her groaningH585.”
3ThereforeH5921H3651 my bodyH4975 is filledH4390 with anguishH2479.PainH6735 grips meH270, like the painsH6735 of a woman in laborH3205.I am bewilderedH5753 to hearH8085,I am dismayedH926 to seeH7200.4My heartH3824 faltersH8582;fearH6427 makes me trembleH1204.The twilightH5399 I desiredH2837has turnedH7760 to horrorH2731.5They prepareH6186 a tableH7979, they lay outH6823 a carpetH6844,they eatH398, they drinkH8354!
Rise upH6965, O princesH8269, oilH4886 the shieldsH4043!6ForH3588 thisH3541 is what the LordH136 saysH559 to meH413:
“GoH1980, postH5975 a lookoutH6822and have him reportH5046 whatH834 he seesH7200.7When he seesH7200 chariotsH7393 with teamsH6776 of horsemenH6571,ridersH7393 on donkeysH2543, ridersH7393 on camelsH1581,he must be alertH7181H7182, fullyH7227 alertH7182.”
“DayH8548 after dayH3119, my lordH136,IH595 standH5975 onH5921 the watchtowerH4707;night afterH3605 nightH3915IH595 stayH5324 atH5921 my postH4931.9LookH2009, hereH2088 comeH935 the ridersH7393H376,horsemenH6571 in pairsH6776.”
“FallenH5307, fallen isH5307 BabylonH894!2AllH3605 the imagesH6456 of her godsH430lie shatteredH7665 on the groundH776!”
