5Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֖ןve.'a.ha.RonH175fellוַיִּפֹּ֥לvai.yi.PolH5307עַל־'al-H5921facedownפְּנֵיהֶ֑םpe.nei.HemH6440beforeלִפְנֵ֕יlif.NeiH6440the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605assemblyקְהַ֥לke.HalH6951of the congregationעֲדַ֖ת בְּנֵ֥י'a.Dat be.NeiH5712 H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

8Ifאִם־'im-H518the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068delightsחָפֵ֥ץcha.FetzH2654in us,He will bringוְהֵבִ֤יאve.he.Vi'H935usאֹתָ֙נוּ֙'o.Ta.nuH853intoאֶל־'el-H413thisהַזֹּ֔אתha.ZotH2063landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776,a landאֶ֕רֶץ'E.retzH776אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834הִ֛ואhi'H1931flowingזָבַ֥תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָ֖בcha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבָֽשׁ׃u.de.VashH1706,and He will give itוּנְתָנָ֖הּu.ne.ta.NahH5414to us.

11And the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872, “How longעַד־ אָ֥נָה'ad- 'A.nahH5704 H575will thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971treat Me with contemptיְנַאֲצֻ֖נִיye.na.'a.Tzu.niH5006?How longוְעַד־ אָ֙נָה֙ve.'ad- 'a.nahH5704 H575will they refuseלֹא־lo'-H3808to believeיַאֲמִ֣ינוּya.'a.Mi.nuH539in Me,despite allבְּכֹל֙be.KholH3605the signsהָֽאֹת֔וֹתha.'o.TotH226אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I have performedעָשִׂ֖יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213among themבְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃be.kir.BoH7130?

12I will strike themאַכֶּ֥נּוּ'ak.Ke.nuH5221with a plagueבַדֶּ֖בֶרva.De.verH1698and destroy themוְאוֹרִשֶׁ֑נּוּve.'o.ri.She.nuH3423—and I will makeוְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ve.'e.'e.SehH6213youאֹֽתְךָ֔'o.te.KhaH853into a nationלְגוֹי־le.goy-H1471greaterגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419and mightierוְעָצ֖וּםve.'a.TzumH6099than they areמִמֶּֽנּוּ׃mi.Me.nuH4480.”

Moses Intercedes for Israel

13But Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, “The Egyptiansמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4713will hearוְשָׁמְע֣וּve.sha.me.'UH8085of itכִּֽי־ki-H3588,for by Your strengthבְכֹחֲךָ֛ve.kho.cha.KhaH3581אֶת־'et-H853You broughtהֶעֱלִ֧יתָhe.'e.Li.taH5927thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971from among themמִקִּרְבּֽוֹ׃mi.kir.BoH7130.

14And they will tell itוְאָמְר֗וּve.'a.me.RuH559toאֶל־'el-H413the inhabitantsיוֹשֵׁב֮yo.ShevH3427of thisהַזֹּאת֒ha.zoTH2063landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776.They have already heardשָֽׁמְעוּ֙sha.me.'UH8085thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588Youאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859,O LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,are in the midstבְּקֶ֖רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130of thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Youאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859,O LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,have been seenנִרְאָ֣ה׀nir.'AhH7200faceעַ֨יִן'A.yinH5869to faceבְּעַ֜יִןbe.'A.yinH5869, thatYour cloudוַעֲנָֽנְךָ֙va.'a.na.ne.KhaH6051standsעֹמֵ֣ד'o.MedH5975over themעֲלֵהֶ֔ם'a.le.HemH5921,and that Youאַתָּ֨ה'a.TahH859goהֹלֵ֤ךְho.LekhH1980before themלִפְנֵיהֶם֙lif.nei.HemH6440in a pillarוּבְעַמֻּ֣דu.ve.'a.MudH5982of cloudעָנָ֗ן'a.NanH6051by dayיוֹמָ֔םyo.MamH3119and a pillarוּבְעַמּ֥וּדu.ve.'a.MudH5982of fireאֵ֖שׁ'eshH784by nightלָֽיְלָה׃La.ye.lahH3915.

15If You killוְהֵמַתָּ֛הve.he.ma.TahH4191אֶת־'et-H853thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971as oneאֶחָ֑ד'e.ChadH259manכְּאִ֣ישׁke.'IshH376,the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834have heardשָׁמְע֥וּsha.me.'UH8085אֶֽת־'et-H853of Your fameוְאָֽמְרוּ֙ שִׁמְעֲךָ֖ve.'a.me.Ru shim.'a.KhaH8088 H559will sayלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

16‘Because the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068was unableמִבִּלְתִּ֞י יְכֹ֣לֶתmi.bil.Ti ye.Kho.letH1115 H3201to bringלְהָבִיא֙le.ha.Vi'H935אֶת־'et-H853thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971intoאֶל־'el-H413the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834He swore to giveנִשְׁבַּ֣עnish.Ba'H7650them,He has slaughtered themוַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖םvai.yish.cha.TemH7819in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.’

17So nowוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258I prayנָ֖אna'H4994,may the powerכֹּ֣חַKo.achH3581of my Lordאֲדֹנָ֑י'a.do.NaiH136be magnifiedיִגְדַּל־yig.dal-H1431,just asכַּאֲשֶׁ֥רka.'a.SherH834You have declaredדִּבַּ֖רְתָּ לֵאמֹֽר׃di.Bar.ta le.MorH1696 H559:

18‘The LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068is slowאֶ֤רֶךְ'E.rekhH750to angerאַפַּ֙יִם֙'a.Pa.yimH639and aboundingוְרַב־ve.rav-H7227in loving devotionחֶ֔סֶדChe.sedH2617,forgivingנֹשֵׂ֥אno.Se'H5375iniquityעָוֹ֖ן'a.VonH5771and transgressionוָפָ֑שַׁעva.Fa.sha'H6588.Yet He will by no meansוְנַקֵּה֙ לֹ֣אve.na.Keh lo'H3808 H5352leave the guilty unpunishedיְנַקֶּ֔הye.na.KehH5352;He will visitפֹּקֵ֞דpo.KedH6485the iniquityעֲוֹ֤ן'a.VonH5771of the fathersאָבוֹת֙'a.VotH1uponעַל־'al-H5921their childrenבָּנִ֔יםba.NimH1121toעַל־'al-H5921the thirdשִׁלֵּשִׁ֖ים וְעַל־shi.le.Shim ve.'al-H8029 H5921and fourthרִבֵּעִֽים׃ri.be.'ImH7256generation.’

God’s Forgiveness and Judgment

21“Yetוְאוּלָ֖םve.'u.LamH199as surely as Iאָ֑נִי'A.niH589liveחַי־chai-H2416and as surely as the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776is filledוְיִמָּלֵ֥אve.yi.ma.Le'H4390אֶת־'et-H853with the gloryכְבוֹד־khe.Vod-H3519of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,

22כִּ֣יkiH3588not oneכָל־khol-H3605of the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֗יםha.'a.na.ShimH582who have seenהָרֹאִ֤יםha.ro.'ImH7200אֶת־'et-H853My gloryכְּבֹדִי֙ke.vo.DiH3519וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and the signsאֹ֣תֹתַ֔י'o.to.TaiH226אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I performedעָשִׂ֥יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213in Egyptבְמִצְרַ֖יִםve.mitz.Ra.yimH4714and in the wildernessוּבַמִּדְבָּ֑רu.va.mid.BarH4057—yet have testedוַיְנַסּ֣וּvay.na.SuH5254Meאֹתִ֗י'o.TiH853and disobeyedוְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּve.Lo' sha.me.'UH3808 H8085Meבְּקוֹלִֽי׃be.ko.LiH6963theseזֶ֚הzehH2088tenעֶ֣שֶׂר'E.serH6235timesפְּעָמִ֔יםpe.'a.MimH6471—

23not oneאִם־'im-H518will ever seeיִרְאוּ֙yir.'UH7200אֶת־'et-H853the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I sworeנִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650to give their fathersלַאֲבֹתָ֑םla.'a.vo.TamH1.Noneוְכָל־ לֹ֥אve.khol lo'H3605 H3808of those who have treated Me with contemptמְנַאֲצַ֖יme.na.'a.TzaiH5006will see itיִרְאֽוּהָ׃yir.'U.haH7200.

24But becauseעֵ֣קֶב'E.kevH6118My servantוְעַבְדִּ֣יve.'av.DiH5650Calebכָלֵ֗בkha.LevH3612hasהָֽיְתָ֞ה עִמּ֔וֹha.ye.Tah i.MoH1961 H5973a differentאַחֶ֙רֶת֙'a.Che.retH312spiritר֤וּחַRu.achH7307and has followed Meאַחֲרָ֑י'a.cha.RaiH310wholeheartedlyוַיְמַלֵּ֖אvay.ma.Le'H4390,I will bring himוַהֲבִֽיאֹתִ֗יוva.ha.vi.'o.TivH935intoאֶל־'el-H413the landהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ha.'A.retzH776אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he has enteredבָּ֣א שָׁ֔מָּהba' Sha.mahH935 H8033,and his descendantsוְזַרְע֖וֹve.zar.'OH2233will inherit itיוֹרִשֶֽׁנָּה׃yo.ri.She.nahH3423.

25Now since the Amalekitesוְהָֽעֲמָלֵקִ֥יve.ha.'a.mal.KiH6003and Canaanitesוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669are livingיוֹשֵׁ֣בyo.ShevH3427in the valleysבָּעֵ֑מֶקba.'E.mekH6010,turn backפְּנ֨וּpe.NuH6437tomorrowמָחָ֗רma.CharH4279and head forוּסְע֥וּu.se.'UH5265the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּ֖רha.mid.BarH4057along the route toדֶּ֥רֶךְDe.rekhH1870the Redסֽוּף׃ פSufH5488Seaיַם־yam-H3220.”

26Then the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidוַיְדַבֵּ֣רvay.da.BerH1696toאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥ה וְאֶֽל־mo.Sheh ve.'el-H4872 H413and Aaronאַהֲרֹ֖ן לֵאמֹֽר׃'a.ha.Ron le.MorH175 H559,
