1And all the congregationהָ֣עֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712lifted upוַתִּשָּׂא֙va.ti.Sa'H5375their voiceקוֹלָ֑םko.LamH6963,and criedוַֽיִּתְּנ֖וּvai.yi.te.NuH5414;and the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971weptוַיִּבְכּ֥וּvai.yiv.KuH1058that nightבַּלַּ֥יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915.

2And all the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478murmuredוַיִּלֹּ֙נוּ֙vai.yi.Lo.nuH3885against Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872and against Aaronאַהֲרֹ֔ן'a.ha.RonH175:and the whole congregationהָעֵדָ֗הha.'e.DahH5712saidוַֽיֹּאמְר֨וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto them, Would Godלוּ־lu-H3863that we had diedמַ֙תְנוּ֙mat.nuH4191in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714!or would Godלוּ־lu-H3863we had diedמָֽתְנוּ׃Ma.te.nuH4191in this wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֥רba.mid.BarH4057!

3And wherefore hath the Lordיְ֠הוָהYah.wehH3068broughtמֵבִ֨יאme.Vi'H935us unto this landהָאָ֤רֶץha.'A.retzH776,to fallלִנְפֹּ֣לlin.PolH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֔רֶבba.Che.revH2719,that our wivesנָשֵׁ֥ינוּna.Shei.nuH802and our childrenוְטַפֵּ֖נוּve.ta.Pe.nuH2945should be a preyלָבַ֑זla.VazH957?were it not betterט֦וֹבTovH2896for us to returnשׁ֥וּבshuvH7725into Egyptמִצְרָֽיְמָה׃mitz.Ra.ye.mahH4714?

5Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֖ןve.'a.ha.RonH175fellוַיִּפֹּ֥לvai.yi.PolH5307on their facesפְּנֵיהֶ֑םpe.nei.HemH6440beforeלִפְנֵ֕יlif.NeiH6440all the assemblyקְהַ֥לke.HalH6951of the congregationעֲדַ֖ת'a.DatH5712of the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

6And Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֗וּןNunH5126,and Calebוְכָלֵב֙ve.kha.LevH3612the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jephunnehיְפֻנֶּ֔הye.fu.NehH3312, which wereof them that searchedהַתָּרִ֖יםha.ta.RimH8446the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,rentקָרְע֖וּka.re.'UH7167their clothesבִּגְדֵיהֶֽם׃big.dei.HemH899:

8If the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068delightחָפֵ֥ץcha.FetzH2654in us, then he will bringוְהֵבִ֤יאve.he.Vi'H935us into this landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776,and giveוּנְתָנָ֖הּu.ne.ta.NahH5414it us; a landאֶ֕רֶץ'E.retzH776which flowethזָבַ֥תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָ֖בcha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבָֽשׁ׃u.de.VashH1706.

9Only rebelתִּמְרֹדוּ֒tim.ro.DuH4775not ye against the Lordבַּֽיהוָה֮ba.Yah.wehH3068,neither fearתִּֽירְאוּ֙ti.re.'UH3372ye the peopleעַ֣ם'amH5971of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776; for they arebreadלַחְמֵ֖נוּlach.Me.nuH3899for us: their defenceצִלָּ֧םtzi.LamH6738is departedסָ֣רsarH5493from them, and the Lordוַֽיהוָ֥הva.Yah.wehH3068iswith us: fearתִּירָאֻֽם׃ti.ra.'UmH3372them not.

10But all the congregationהָ֣עֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712badeוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559stoneלִרְגּ֥וֹםlir.GomH7275them with stonesבָּאֲבָנִ֑יםba.'a.va.NimH68.And the gloryוּכְב֣וֹדu.khe.VodH3519of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068appearedנִרְאָה֙nir.'AhH7200in the tabernacleבְּאֹ֣הֶלbe.'O.helH168of the congregationמוֹעֵ֔דmo.'EdH4150before all the childrenבְּנֵ֖יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.

11And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872,How long will this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971provokeיְנַאֲצֻ֖נִיye.na.'a.Tzu.niH5006me? and how long will it be ereלֹא־lo'-H3808they believeיַאֲמִ֣ינוּya.'a.Mi.nuH539me, for all the signsהָֽאֹת֔וֹתha.'o.TotH226which I have shewedעָשִׂ֖יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213amongבְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃be.kir.BoH7130them?

12I will smiteאַכֶּ֥נּוּ'ak.Ke.nuH5221them with the pestilenceבַדֶּ֖בֶרva.De.verH1698,and disinheritוְאוֹרִשֶׁ֑נּוּve.'o.ri.She.nuH3423them, and will makeוְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ve.'e.'e.SehH6213of thee a greaterגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419nationלְגוֹי־le.goy-H1471and mightierוְעָצ֖וּםve.'a.TzumH6099than they.

13And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,Then the EgyptiansH4714shall hearוְשָׁמְע֣וּve.sha.me.'UH8085it, (for thou broughtest upהֶעֱלִ֧יתָhe.'e.Li.taH5927this peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971in thy mightבְכֹחֲךָ֛ve.kho.cha.KhaH3581from amongמִקִּרְבּֽוֹ׃mi.kir.BoH7130them;)

14And they will tellוְאָמְר֗וּve.'a.me.RuH559itto the inhabitantsיוֹשֵׁב֮yo.ShevH3427of this landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776: forthey have heardשָֽׁמְעוּ֙sha.me.'UH8085that thou Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068artamongבְּקֶ֖רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,that thou Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068art seenנִרְאָ֣ה׀nir.'AhH7200faceעַ֨יִן'A.yinH5869to faceבְּעַ֜יִןbe.'A.yinH5869, and thatthy cloudוַעֲנָֽנְךָ֙va.'a.na.ne.KhaH6051standethעֹמֵ֣ד'o.MedH5975over them, and thatthou goestהֹלֵ֤ךְho.LekhH1980beforeלִפְנֵיהֶם֙lif.nei.HemH6440them, by day timeיוֹמָ֔םyo.MamH3119in a pillarוּבְעַמֻּ֣דu.ve.'a.MudH5982of a cloudעָנָ֗ן'a.NanH6051,and in a pillarוּבְעַמּ֥וּדu.ve.'a.MudH5982of fireאֵ֖שׁ'eshH784by nightלָֽיְלָה׃La.ye.lahH3915.

15Now ifthou shalt killוְהֵמַתָּ֛הve.he.ma.TahH4191allthis peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971as oneאֶחָ֑ד'e.ChadH259manכְּאִ֣ישׁke.'IshH376,then the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471which have heardשָׁמְע֥וּsha.me.'UH8085the fameשִׁמְעֲךָ֖shim.'a.KhaH8088of thee will speakוְאָֽמְרוּ֙ve.'a.me.RuH559,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

16Because the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068was notמִבִּלְתִּ֞יmi.bil.TiH1115ableיְכֹ֣לֶתye.Kho.letH3201to bringלְהָבִיא֙le.ha.Vi'H935this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971into the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776which he swareנִשְׁבַּ֣עnish.Ba'H7650unto them, therefore he hath slainוַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖םvai.yish.cha.TemH7819them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

17And now, I beseech thee, let the powerכֹּ֣חַKo.achH3581of my Lordאֲדֹנָ֑י'a.do.NaiH136be greatיִגְדַּל־yig.dal-H1431,accordingכַּאֲשֶׁ֥רka.'a.SherH834as thou hast spokenדִּבַּ֖רְתָּdi.Bar.taH1696,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

18The Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068islongsufferingאֶ֤רֶךְ אַפַּ֙יִם֙'E.rekh 'a.Pa.yimH639 H750,and of greatוְרַב־ve.rav-H7227mercyחֶ֔סֶדChe.sedH2617,forgivingנֹשֵׂ֥אno.Se'H5375iniquityעָוֹ֖ן'a.VonH5771and transgressionוָפָ֑שַׁעva.Fa.sha'H6588,and by no meansוְנַקֵּה֙ve.na.KehH5352clearingיְנַקֶּ֔הye.na.KehH5352the guilty,visitingפֹּקֵ֞דpo.KedH6485the iniquityעֲוֹ֤ן'a.VonH5771of the fathersאָבוֹת֙'a.VotH1upon the childrenבָּנִ֔יםba.NimH1121unto the thirdשִׁלֵּשִׁ֖יםshi.le.ShimH8029and fourthרִבֵּעִֽים׃ri.be.'ImH7256generation.

19Pardonסְלַֽח־se.lach-H5545,I beseech thee, the iniquityלַעֲוֹ֛ןla.'a.VonH5771of this peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971according unto the greatnessכְּגֹ֣דֶלke.Go.delH1433of thy mercyחַסְדֶּ֑ךָchas.De.khaH2617,and as thou hast forgivenנָשָׂ֙אתָה֙na.Sa.tahH5375this peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971,from Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֖יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714even until nowהֵֽנָּה׃He.nahH2008.

20And the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,I have pardonedסָלַ֖חְתִּיsa.Lach.tiH5545according to thy wordכִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃kid.va.Re.khaH1697:

21But astrulyוְאוּלָ֖םve.'u.LamH199asI liveחַי־chai-H2416,all the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776shall be filledוְיִמָּלֵ֥אve.yi.ma.Le'H4390with the gloryכְבוֹד־khe.Vod-H3519of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.

22Because all those menהָאֲנָשִׁ֗יםha.'a.na.ShimH582which have seenהָרֹאִ֤יםha.ro.'ImH7200my gloryכְּבֹדִי֙ke.vo.DiH3519,and my miraclesאֹ֣תֹתַ֔י'o.to.TaiH226,which I didעָשִׂ֥יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213in Egyptבְמִצְרַ֖יִםve.mitz.Ra.yimH4714and in the wildernessוּבַמִּדְבָּ֑רu.va.mid.BarH4057,and have temptedוַיְנַסּ֣וּvay.na.SuH853 H5254me now these tenעֶ֣שֶׂר'E.serH6235timesפְּעָמִ֔יםpe.'a.MimH6471,and have not hearkenedשָׁמְע֖וּsha.me.'UH8085to my voiceבְּקוֹלִֽי׃be.ko.LiH6963;

23Surely they shall notאִם־'im-H518seeיִרְאוּ֙yir.'UH7200the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which I swareנִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650unto their fathersלַאֲבֹתָ֑םla.'a.vo.TamH1,neither shall any of them that provokedמְנַאֲצַ֖יme.na.'a.TzaiH5006me seeיִרְאֽוּהָ׃yir.'U.haH7200it:

24But my servantוְעַבְדִּ֣יve.'av.DiH5650Calebכָלֵ֗בkha.LevH3612,becauseעֵ֣קֶב'E.kevH6118he had anotherאַחֶ֙רֶת֙'a.Che.retH312spiritר֤וּחַRu.achH7307with him, and hath followedאַחֲרָ֑י'a.cha.RaiH310me fullyוַיְמַלֵּ֖אvay.ma.Le'H4390,him will I bringוַהֲבִֽיאֹתִ֗יוva.ha.vi.'o.TivH935into the landהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ha.'A.retzH776whereinto he wentבָּ֣אba'H935;and his seedוְזַרְע֖וֹve.zar.'OH2233shall possessיוֹרִשֶֽׁנָּה׃yo.ri.She.nahH3423it.

26And the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068spakeוַיְדַבֵּ֣רvay.da.BerH1696unto Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872and unto Aaronאַהֲרֹ֖ן'a.ha.RonH175,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

27How long shall I bear withthis evilהָֽרָעָה֙ha.ra.'AhH7451congregationלָעֵדָ֤הla.'e.DahH5712,which murmurמַלִּינִ֖יםma.li.NimH3885against me? I have heardשָׁמָֽעְתִּי׃sha.Ma.'e.tiH8085the murmuringsתְּלֻנּ֞וֹתte.lu.NotH8519of the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,which they murmurמַלִּינִ֛יםma.li.NimH3885against me.

28Sayאֱמֹ֣ר'e.MorH559unto them,As truly asלֹ֕אlo'H3808I liveחַי־chai-H2416,saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,as ye have spokenדִּבַּרְתֶּ֖םdi.bar.TemH1696in mine earsבְּאָזְנָ֑יbe.'a.ze.NaiH241,so will I doאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה'e.'e.SehH6213to you:

29Your carcasesפִגְרֵיכֶ֜םfig.rei.KhemH6297shall fallיִפְּל֨וּyi.pe.LuH5307in this wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֣רba.mid.BarH4057;and all that were numberedפְּקֻדֵיכֶם֙pe.ku.dei.KhemH6485of you, according to your whole numberמִסְפַּרְכֶ֔םmis.par.KhemH4557,from twentyעֶשְׂרִ֥ים'es.RimH6242yearsשָׁנָ֖הsha.NahH8141oldמִבֶּ֛ןmi.BenH1121and upwardוָמָ֑עְלָהva.Ma.'e.lahH4605,which have murmuredהֲלִֽינֹתֶ֖םha.li.no.TemH3885against me,

30Doubtless ye shall notH518comeתָּבֹ֣אוּta.Vo.'uH935into the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776, concerningwhich I swareנָשָׂ֙אתִי֙ יָדִ֔יna.Sa.ti ya.DiH5375 H3027to make you dwellלְשַׁכֵּ֥ןle.sha.KenH7931therein, save Calebכָּלֵ֣בka.LevH3612the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jephunnehיְפֻנֶּ֔הye.fu.NehH3312,and Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנֽוּן׃NunH5126.

31But your little onesוְטַ֨פְּכֶ֔םve.Ta.pe.KhemH2945,which ye saidאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם'a.mar.TemH559should be a preyלָבַ֣זla.VazH957,them will I bring inוְהֵבֵיאתִ֣יve.he.vei.TiH935,and they shall knowוְיָֽדְעוּ֙ve.ya.de.'UH3045the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which ye have despisedמְאַסְתֶּ֖םme.'as.TemH3988.

32But as foryou, your carcasesוּפִגְרֵיכֶ֖םu.fig.rei.KhemH6297,they shall fallיִפְּל֖וּyi.pe.LuH5307in this wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֥רba.mid.BarH4057.

33And your childrenוּ֠בְנֵיכֶםU.ve.nei.khemH1121shall wanderרֹעִ֤יםro.'ImH7462in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּר֙ba.mid.BarH4057fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsשָׁנָ֔הsha.NahH8141,and bearוְנָשְׂא֖וּve.na.se.'UH5375your whoredomsזְנוּתֵיכֶ֑םze.nu.tei.KhemH2184,until your carcasesפִּגְרֵיכֶ֖םpig.rei.KhemH6297be wastedתֹּ֥םtomH8552in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

34After the numberבְּמִסְפַּ֨רbe.mis.ParH4557of the daysהַיָּמִ֜יםhai.ya.MimH3117in which ye searchedתַּרְתֶּ֣םtar.TemH8446the landהָאָרֶץ֮ha.'a.RetzH776, evenfortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705daysיוֹם֒yOmH3117,each dayי֣וֹםYomH3117for a yearי֣וֹםYomH8141 H3117,shall ye bearתִּשְׂאוּ֙tis.'UH5375your iniquitiesעֲוֹנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם'a.vo.No.tei.KhemH5771, evenfortyאַרְבָּעִ֖ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsH8141,and ye shall knowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045my breach of promiseתְּנוּאָתִֽי׃te.nu.'a.TiH8569.

35I the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068have saidדִּבַּרְתִּי֒di.bar.TiH1696,I will surelyאִם־ לֹ֣א׀'im- lo'H3808 H518doאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֗ה'e.'e.SehH6213itH2063unto all this evilהָֽרָעָה֙ha.ra.'AhH7451congregationהָעֵדָ֤הha.'e.DahH5712,that are gathered togetherהַנּוֹעָדִ֖יםha.no.'a.DimH3259against me: in this wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֥רba.mid.BarH4057they shall be consumedיִתַּ֖מּוּyi.Ta.muH8552,and there they shall dieיָמֻֽתוּ׃ya.Mu.tuH4191.

36And the menוְהָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔יםve.Ha.'a.na.ShimH582,which Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872sentשָׁלַ֥חsha.LachH7971to searchלָת֣וּרla.TurH8446the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,who returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֗בוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725,and made all the congregationהָ֣עֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712to murmurוַיַּלִּ֤ינוּvai.yi.lo.nuH3885against him, by bringing upלְהוֹצִ֥יאle.ho.Tzi'H3318a slanderדִבָּ֖הdi.BahH1681upon the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776,

37Even thoseH582menH582that did bring upמוֹצִאֵ֥יmo.tzi.'EiH3318the evilרָעָ֑הra.'AhH7451reportדִבַּת־di.bat-H1681upon the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776,diedוַיָּמֻ֙תוּ֙vai.ya.Mu.tuH4191by the plagueבַּמַּגֵּפָ֖הba.ma.ge.FahH4046beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

38But Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֔וּןNunH5126,and Calebוְכָלֵ֖בve.kha.LevH3612the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jephunnehיְפֻנֶּ֑הye.fu.NehH3312, which wereof the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֣ים הָהֵ֔םha.'a.na.Shim ha.HemH582 H1992that wentהַֽהֹלְכִ֖יםha.ho.le.KhimH1980to searchלָת֥וּרla.TurH8446the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776,livedחָיוּ֙cha.YuH2421still.
