16If, howeverוְאִם־ve.'im-H518,anyone strikesהִכָּ֛הוּhi.Ka.huH5221a person with an ironבַרְזֶ֧ל׀var.ZelH1270objectבִּכְלִ֨יbikh.LiH3627and kills himH4191,heה֑וּאHu'H1931is a murdererרֹצֵ֣חַֽro.Tze.achH7523;the murdererהָרֹצֵֽחַ׃ha.ro.Tze.achH7523must surely be put to deathH4191.

17Or ifוְאִ֡םve.'ImH518anyone has in his handיָד֩yadH3027אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834a stoneבְּאֶ֣בֶןbe.'E.venH68of deadly sizeH4191,and he strikesהִכָּ֛הוּhi.Ka.huH5221and kills anotherH4191,he is a murdererרֹצֵ֣חַֽro.Tze.achH7523;the murdererהָרֹצֵֽחַ׃ha.ro.Tze.achH7523ה֑וּאHu'H1931must surely be put to deathH4191.

18Ifא֡וֹ'oH176anyone has in his handיָד֩yadH3027אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834a deadlyH4191objectבִּכְלִ֣יbikh.LiH3627of woodעֵֽץ־'etz-H6086,and he strikesהִכָּ֛הוּhi.Ka.huH5221and kills anotherH4191,he is a murdererרֹצֵ֣חַֽro.Tze.achH7523;the murdererה֑וּא הָרֹצֵֽחַ׃Hu' ha.ro.Tze.achH7523 H1931must surely be put to deathH4191.

19The avengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּ֔םha.DamH1818ה֥וּאhu'H1931אֶת־'et-H853is to put the murdererהָרֹצֵ֑חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523to deathיָמִ֖יתya.MitH4191;when he findsבְּפִגְעוֹ־be.fig.'ov-H6293him,heה֥וּאhu'H1931is to kill himיְמִיתֶֽנּוּ׃ye.mi.Te.nuH4191.

20Likewise, ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518anyone maliciouslyבְּשִׂנְאָ֖הbe.sin.'AhH8135pushes anotherיֶהְדָּפֶ֑נּוּyeh.da.Fe.nuH1920orאֽוֹ־'ov-H176intentionallyבִּצְדִיָּ֖הbitz.di.YahH6660throws an objectהִשְׁלִ֥יךְhish.LikhH7993at himעָלָ֛יו'a.LavH5921and kills himוַיָּמֹֽת׃vai.ya.MotH4191,

21orא֣וֹ'oH176if in hostilityבְאֵיבָ֞הve.'ei.VahH342he strikes himהִכָּ֤הוּhi.Ka.huH5221with his handבְיָדוֹ֙ve.ya.DoH3027and he diesH4191,the one who struck himהַמַּכֶּ֖הha.ma.KehH5221must surely be put to deathH4191;heה֑וּאHu'H1931is a murdererרֹצֵ֣חַֽro.Tze.achH7523.When the avengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּ֗םha.DamH1818findsבְּפִגְעוֹ־be.fig.'ov-H6293the murdererהָרֹצֵ֖חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523,he is to killH4191himאֶת־'et-H853.

22But if anyoneוְאִם־ve.'im-H518pushes a personהֲדָפ֑וֹha.da.FoH1920suddenlyבְּפֶ֥תַעbe.Fe.ta'H6621,withoutבְּלֹא־be.lo'-H3808hostilityאֵיבָ֖ה'ei.VahH342,orאוֹ־'ov-H176throwsהִשְׁלִ֥יךְhish.LikhH7993anכָּל־kol-H3605objectכְּלִ֖יke.LiH3627at himעָלָ֛יו'a.LavH5921unintentionallyבְּלֹ֥א צְדִיָּֽה׃be.Lo' tze.di.YahH3808 H6660,

25The assemblyהָעֵדָ֜הha.'e.DahH5712אֶת־'et-H853is to protectוְהִצִּ֨ילוּve.hi.Tzi.luH5337the manslayerהָרֹצֵ֗חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523from the handמִיַּד֮mi.YadH3027of the avengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּם֒ha.DamH1818.Then the assemblyהָֽעֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712will returnוְהֵשִׁ֤יבוּve.he.Shi.vuH7725himאֹתוֹ֙'o.ToH853toאֶל־'el-H413the cityעִ֥יר'irH5892of refugeמִקְלָט֖וֹmik.la.ToH4733to whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he fledנָ֣ס שָׁ֑מָּהnas Sha.mahH5127 H8033,and he must liveוְיָ֣שַׁבve.Ya.shavH3427thereuntilעַד־'ad-H5704the deathמוֹת֙mOtH4194of the highהַגָּדֹ֔לha.ga.DolH1419priestהַכֹּהֵ֣ןha.ko.HenH3548,whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834was anointedמָשַׁ֥חma.ShachH4886אֹת֖וֹ'o.ToH853with the holyהַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ha.Ko.deshH6944oilבְּשֶׁ֥מֶןbe.She.menH8081.

26But ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518the manslayerהָרֹצֵ֑חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523אֶת־'et-H853ever goes outsideH3318the limitsגְּבוּל֙ge.VulH1366of the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of refugeמִקְלָט֔וֹmik.la.ToH4733אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834to which he fledיָנ֖וּס שָֽׁמָּה׃ya.Nus Sha.mahH5127 H8033

27and the avengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּ֔םha.DamH1818findsוּמָצָ֤אu.ma.Tza'H4672himאֹתוֹ֙'o.ToH853outsideמִח֕וּץ לִגְב֖וּלmi.Chutz lig.VulH2351 H1366of his cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of refugeמִקְלָט֑וֹmik.la.ToH4733and kills himוְרָצַ֞חve.ra.TzachH7523, thenthe avengerגֹּאֵ֤לgo.'ElH1350will notאֵ֥ין'einH369הַדָּם֙ha.DamH1818be guilty of bloodshedדָּֽם׃DamH1818אֶת־'et-H853הָ֣רֹצֵ֔חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523,

32Norוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808should you acceptתִקְח֣וּtik.ChuH3947a ransomכֹ֔פֶרKho.ferH3724for the person who fleesלָנ֖וּסla.NusH5127toאֶל־'el-H413a cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of refugeמִקְלָט֑וֹmik.la.ToH4733and allow him to returnלָשׁוּב֙la.ShuvH7725and liveלָשֶׁ֣בֶתla.She.vetH3427on his own landבָּאָ֔רֶץba.'A.retzH776beforeעַד־'ad-H5704the deathמ֖וֹתMotH4194of the high priestהַכֹּהֵֽן׃ha.ko.HenH3548.
