2So Aaronאַהֲרֹ֔ן'a.ha.RonH175toldוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559themאֲלֵהֶם֙'a.le.HemH413, “Take offפָּֽרְקוּ֙pa.re.KuH6561the goldהַזָּהָ֔בha.za.HavH2091earringsנִזְמֵ֣יniz.MeiH5141thatאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834are onבְּאָזְנֵ֣יbe.'a.ze.NeiH241your wivesנְשֵׁיכֶ֔םne.shei.KhemH802and sonsבְּנֵיכֶ֖םbe.nei.KhemH1121and daughtersוּבְנֹתֵיכֶ֑םu.ve.no.tei.KhemH1323,and bring themוְהָבִ֖יאוּve.ha.Vi.'uH935to meאֵלָֽי׃'e.LaiH413.”
3Then allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971אֶת־'et-H853took offוַיִּתְפָּֽרְקוּ֙vai.yit.pa.re.KuH6561their goldהַזָּהָ֖בha.za.HavH2091earringsנִזְמֵ֥יniz.MeiH5141אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834בְּאָזְנֵיהֶ֑םbe.'a.ze.nei.HemH241and brought themוַיָּבִ֖יאוּvai.ya.Vi.'uH935toאֶֽל־'el-H413Aaronאַהֲרֹֽן׃'a.ha.RonH175.
4He tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947the goldfrom their handsמִיָּדָ֗םmi.ya.DamH3027,andוַיָּ֤צַרvai.Ya.tzarH6696with an engraving toolבַּחֶ֔רֶטba.Che.retH2747he fashionedוַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֖הוּvai.ya.'a.Se.huH6213itאֹתוֹ֙'o.ToH853into a moltenמַסֵּכָ֑הma.se.KhahH4541calfעֵ֣גֶל'E.gelH5695.And they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “Theseאֵ֤לֶּה'E.lehH428,O Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,are your godsאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834brought you upהֶעֱל֖וּךָhe.'e.Lu.khaH5927out of the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714!”
5When Aaronאַהֲרֹ֔ן'a.ha.RonH175saw thisוַיַּ֣רְאvai.Yar'H7200,he builtוַיִּ֥בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129an altarמִזְבֵּ֖חַmiz.Be.achH4196beforeלְפָנָ֑יוle.fa.NavH6440the calfand proclaimedוַיִּקְרָ֤א אַֽהֲרֹן֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔רvai.yik.Ra' 'a.ha.Ron vai.yo.MarH7121H175H559: “Tomorrowמָחָֽר׃ma.CharH4279shall bea feastחַ֥גchagH2282to the LORDלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068.”
6So the next dayמִֽמָּחֳרָ֔תmi.mo.cho.RatH4283they aroseוַיַּשְׁכִּ֙ימוּ֙vai.yash.Ki.muH7925,offeredוַיַּעֲל֣וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927burnt offeringsעֹלֹ֔ת'o.LotH5930,and presentedוַיַּגִּ֖שׁוּvai.ya.Gi.shuH5066peace offeringsשְׁלָמִ֑יםshe.la.MimH8002.And the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971sat downוַיֵּ֤שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427to eatלֶֽאֱכֹ֣לle.'e.KholH398and drinkוְשָׁת֔וֹve.sha.ToH8354and got upוַיָּקֻ֖מוּvai.ya.Ku.muH6965to indulge in revelryלְצַחֵֽק׃ פle.tza.ChekH6711.
7Then the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696toאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872, “Go down at onceלֶךְ־ רֵ֕דlekh- redH1980H3381,forכִּ֚יkiH3588your peopleעַמְּךָ֔'a.me.KhaH5971,whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you brought upהֶעֱלֵ֖יתָhe.'e.Lei.taH5927out of the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714,have corrupted themselvesשִׁחֵ֣תshi.ChetH7843.
8How quickly they haveמַהֵ֗רma.HerH4118turned asideסָ֣רוּSa.ruH5493fromמִן־min-H4480the wayהַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ha.De.rekhH1870thatאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I commanded themצִוִּיתִ֔םtzi.vi.TimH6680!They have madeעָשׂ֣וּ'a.SuH6213for themselvesa moltenמַסֵּכָ֑הma.se.KhahH4541calfעֵ֖גֶל'E.gelH5695and have bowed downוַיִּשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ־vai.yish.ta.cha.vu-H7812to it.They have sacrificedוַיִּזְבְּחוּ־vai.yiz.be.chu-H2076to itand saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, ‘Theseאֵ֤לֶּה'E.lehH428,O Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,are your godsאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834brought you upהֶֽעֱל֖וּךָhe.'e.Lu.khaH5927out of the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.’”
