2 Kings 13:1-9
1In the threeH7969 and twentieth yearH8141 of JoashH3101 the sonH1121 of AhaziahH274, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, JehoahazH3059 the sonH1121 of JehuH3058 began to reignH4427 over IsraelH3478 in SamariaH8111, and reignedH4427 seventeen yearsH8141. 2And he did that which was evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah, and followed the sinsH2398 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, wherewith he madeH6213 IsraelH3478 to sinH2398; he departedH5493 not therefrom. 3And the angerH639 of Jehovah was kindled against IsraelH3478, and he delivered them into the handH3027 of HazaelH2371 kingH4428 of Syria, and into the handH3027 of Ben-hadadH1130 the sonH1121 of HazaelH2371, continually. 4And JehoahazH3059 besought Jehovah, and Jehovah hearkened unto him; for he sawH7200 the oppressionH3906 of IsraelH3478, how that the kingH4428 of Syria oppressedH3905 them. 5(And Jehovah gaveH5414 IsraelH3478 a saviour, so that they wentH3318 out from under the handH3027 of the Syrians; and the children of IsraelH3478 dweltH3427 in their tentsH168 as beforetime. 6NeverthelessH389 they departed not from the sinsH2398 of the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379, wherewith he made IsraelH3478 to sinH2398, but walkedH1980 therein: and there remainedH5975 the AsherahH842 alsoH1571 in SamariaH8111.) 7For he leftH7604 not to JehoahazH3059 of the peopleH5971 save fiftyH2572 horsemenH6571, and tenH6235 chariotsH7393, and tenH6235 thousandH505 footmen; for the kingH4428 of Syria destroyedH6 them, and madeH7760 them like the dustH6083 in threshingH1758. 8Now the restH3499 of the acts of JehoahazH3059, and all that he did, and his might, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478? 9And JehoahazH3059 slept with his fathersH1; and they buriedH6912 him in SamariaH8111: and JoashH3101 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
