Revised Version 1895

Psalms 81:6-16

I removedH3318 his shoulder from the burden: his hands were freed from the basket.
Thou calledst in trouble, and I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah
Hear, O my people, and I will testifyH6030 unto thee: O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto meH5921!
There shall noH518 strange god be in thee; neitherH518 shalt thou worshipH3478 any strange god.
I am the LORD thy GodH410, which broughtH1961 thee upH1961 out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
But my peopleH776 hearkened notH776 to my voice; and Israel would none of meH5927.
SoH3808 I letH3808 them go after the stubbornness of their heartH8085, that they might walk in their own counsels.
Oh that my peopleH3820 would hearken unto meH7971, that Israel would walk in my ways!
I should soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.
The haters of the LORD should submit themselvesH5921 unto him: but their time should endure for everH7725.
He should feed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I satisfy thee.
