Revised Version 1895

Psalms 40:7-17

Then said I, Lo, I am come; in the roll of the book it is written of meH7592:
I delight to doH935 thy will, O my GodH559; yea, thy law is withinH5921 my heart.
I have published righteousness in the greatH430 congregation; lo, I will not refrain my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
I have notH3808 hid thy righteousnessH6664 within my heartH8193; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have notH3808 concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the greatH7227 congregationH6951.
Withhold notH3808 thou thy tender mercies from meH3808, O LORDH2617: letH3808 thy lovingkindness and thy truthH571 continuallyH3820 preserve meH3808.
For innumerable evils have compassed meH4480 aboutH4480, mineH4480 iniquities have overtaken meH4480, soH4480 that I am notH3808 able to look upH4480; they are moreH4480 thanH4480 the hairs of mineH4480 head, and my heart hath failedH3808 meH4480.
Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver meH5921: makeH7200 haste to help meH5921, O LORD.
Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it: let them be turned backward and brought to dishonour that delightH7521 in my hurt.
LetH5315 them be desolate by reason of their shameH954 that say unto meH5315, Aha, Aha.
Let all thoseH5921 that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation sayH559 continually, The LORD be magnified.
But I am poor and needy; yet the LordH3068 thinketh upon meH8055: thou art my help and my deliverer; makeH8055 noH3605 tarrying, O my GodH3068.
