2“Now the sonsבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478are tocelebrateוְיַעֲשׂ֧וּve.ya.'a.SuH6213the Passoverהַפָּ֖סַחha.Pa.sachH6453atits appointedH4150timeבְּמוֹעֲדֽוֹ׃be.mo.'a.DoH4150.

3On the fourteenthבְּאַרְבָּעָ֣ה עָשָֽׂר־be.'ar.ba.'Ah 'a.sar-H702 H6240dayי֠וֹםYomH3117of thisהַזֶּ֜הha.ZehH2088monthבַּחֹ֨דֶשׁba.Cho.deshH2320,at twilightהָֽעֲרְבַּ֛יִםha.'ar.Ba.yimH6153,you shall celebrateתַּעֲשׂ֥וּta.'a.SuH6213it at its appointedH4150timeבְּמוֹעֲד֑וֹbe.mo.'a.DoH4150;you shall celebrateתַּעֲשׂ֥וּta.'a.SuH6213it in accordance with allכְּכָל־ke.khol-H3605its statutesחֻקֹּתָ֥יוchu.ko.TavH2708and allוּכְכָל־u.khekh.khol-H3605its ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטָ֖יוmish.pa.TavH4941.”

4So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872toldוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478to celebrateלַעֲשֹׂ֥תla.'a.SotH6213the Passoverהַפָּֽסַח׃ha.Pa.sachH6453.

5Andthey celebratedוַיַּעֲשׂ֣וּvai.ya.'a.SuH6213the Passoverהַפֶּ֡סַחha.Pe.sachH6453in the firstבָּרִאשׁ֡וֹןba.ri.ShonH7223month,on the fourteenthבְּאַרְבָּעָה֩ עָשָׂ֨רbe.'ar.ba.'Ah 'a.SarH702 H6240dayי֥וֹםYomH3117of the monthלַחֹ֛דֶשׁla.Cho.deshH2320,at twilightהָעַרְבַּ֖יִםha.'ar.Ba.yimH6153,in the wildernessבְּמִדְבַּ֣רbe.mid.BarH4057of Sinaiסִינָ֑יsi.NaiH5514;in accordance with everythingכְּ֠כֹלKe.kholH3605that the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֤הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872,soכֵּ֥ןkenH3651the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478didעָשׂ֖וּ'a.SuH6213.

6But there were somemenH376whoאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834wereuncleanטְמֵאִים֙te.me.'ImH2931because of contact with adeadH5315personH5315,so that they couldיָכְל֥וּya.khe.LuH3201not celebrateלַעֲשֹׂת־la.'a.sot-H6213Passoverהַפֶּ֖סַחha.Pe.sachH6453on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117; andthey cameוַֽיִּקְרְב֞וּvai.yik.re.VuH7126beforeH6440Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronאַהֲרֹ֖ן'a.ha.RonH175on that dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117.

7Thoseהָהֵ֙מָּה֙ha.He.mahH1992menH376saidוַ֠יֹּאמְרוּVai.yo.me.ruH559to him, “Thoughwe are uncleanטְמֵאִ֖יםte.me.'ImH2931because of adeadH5315personH5315,whyלָ֣מָּהLa.mahH4100are we keptנִגָּרַ֗עni.ga.Ra'H1639from presentingהַקְרִ֜בhak.RivH7126the offeringקָרְבַּ֤ןka.re.BanH7133of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068at its appointedH4150timeבְּמֹ֣עֲד֔וֹbe.Mo.'a.DoH4150amongבְּת֖וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478?”

8Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872then saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Waitעִמְד֣וּ'im.DuH5975,and I will listenוְאֶשְׁמְעָ֔הve.'esh.me.'AhH8085to whatמַה־mah-H4100the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068will commandיְצַוֶּ֥הye.tza.VehH6680concerning you.”

9Then the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872,sayingלֵּאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

10“Speakדַּבֵּ֛רda.BerH1696to the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, ‘Ifכִּי־ki-H3588anyאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376oneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of you orאוֹ֩'oH176of your generationsלְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔םle.do.Ro.tei.KhemH1755becomesיִהְיֶֽה־yih.yeh-H1961uncleanטָמֵ֣א׀ta.Me'H2931because of a deadpersonלָנֶ֡פֶשׁla.Ne.feshH5315,orא֚וֹ'oH176is on a distantרְחֹקָ֜הׄre.cho.KahH7350journeyבְדֶ֨רֶךְve.De.rekhH1870,he may, however, celebrateוְעָ֥שָׂהve.'A.sahH6213the Passoverפֶ֖סַחFe.sachH6453to the Lordלַיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.

12Theyshall not leaveיַשְׁאִ֤ירוּyash.'I.ruH7604any of it untilעַד־'ad-H5704morningבֹּ֔קֶרBo.kerH1242,norH3808breakיִשְׁבְּרוּ־yish.be.ru-H7665a boneוְעֶ֖צֶםve.'E.tzemH6106of it; they shall celebrateיַעֲשׂ֥וּya.'a.SuH6213it in accordance with the wholeכְּכָל־ke.khol-H3605statuteחֻקַּ֥תchu.KatH2708of the Passoverהַפֶּ֖סַחha.Pe.sachH6453.

13But the personוְהָאִישׁ֩ve.ha.'IshH376whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is cleanטָה֜וֹרta.HorH2889and is not on a journeyוּבְדֶ֣רֶךְu.ve.De.rekhH1870,yet refrainsוְחָדַל֙ve.cha.DalH2308from celebratingלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213the Passoverהַפֶּ֔סַחha.Pe.sachH6453, thatpersonהַנֶּ֥פֶשׁha.Ne.feshH5315shall then be cutוְנִכְרְתָ֛הve.nikh.re.TahH3772offH3772from his peopleמֵֽעַמֶּ֑יהָme.'a.Mei.haH5971,becauseכִּ֣י׀kiH3588he did not presentהִקְרִיב֙hik.RivH7126the offeringקָרְבַּ֣ןka.re.BanH7133of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068at its appointedH4150timeבְּמֹ֣עֲד֔וֹbe.Mo.'a.DoH4150.That personהָאִ֥ישׁha.'IshH376will bearיִשָּׂ֖אyi.Sa'H5375the responsibility forhis sinחֶטְא֥וֹchet.'OH2399.

14Andifוְכִֽי־ve.khi-H3588a strangerגֵּ֗רGerH1616residesיָג֨וּרya.GurH1481amongאִתְּכֶ֜ם'i.te.KhemH854you andcelebratesוְעָ֤שָֽׂהve.'A.sahH6213the Passoverפֶ֙סַח֙fe.sachH6453to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068,according to the statuteכְּחֻקַּ֥תke.chu.KatH2708of the Passoverהַפֶּ֛סַחha.Pe.sachH6453and its ordinanceוּכְמִשְׁפָּט֖וֹu.khe.mish.pa.ToH4941,soכֵּ֣ןkenH3651he shall celebrateיַעֲשֶׂ֑הya.'a.SehH6213it;you shall haveיִהְיֶ֣הyih.YehH1961thesameאַחַת֙'a.ChatH259statuteחֻקָּ֤הchu.KahH2708,both for the strangerוְלַגֵּ֖רve.la.GerH1616and for the nativeוּלְאֶזְרַ֥חu.le.'ez.RachH249of the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ פha.'A.retzH776.’”

The Cloud on the Tabernacle

15Now onthe dayוּבְיוֹם֙u.ve.yOmH3117that the tabernacleהַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ןha.mish.KanH4908was erectedהָקִ֣יםha.KimH6965,the cloudהֶֽעָנָן֙he.'a.NanH6051coveredכִּסָּ֤הki.SahH3680the tabernacleהַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ןha.mish.KanH4908, thetentלְאֹ֖הֶלle.'O.helH168of the testimonyהָעֵדֻ֑תha.'e.DutH5715, andin the eveningוּבָעֶ֜רֶבu.va.'E.revH6153it was like the appearanceכְּמַרְאֵה־ke.mar.'eh-H4758of fireאֵ֖שׁ'eshH784overעַֽל־'al-H5921the tabernacleהַמִּשְׁכָּ֛ןha.mish.KanH4908untilעַד־'ad-H5704morningבֹּֽקֶר׃Bo.kerH1242.

16ThatH3651isH3651howH3651it was continuouslyתָמִ֔ידta.MidH8548;the cloudהֶעָנָ֖ןhe.'a.NanH6051would coverיְכַסֶּ֑נּוּye.khas.Se.nuH3680it by day,and the appearanceוּמַרְאֵה־u.mar.'eh-H4758of fireאֵ֖שׁ'eshH784by nightלָֽיְלָה׃La.ye.lahH3915.

17Wheneverוּלְפִ֞יu.le.FiH6310the cloudהֶֽעָנָן֙he.'a.NanH6051was liftedהֵעָלֹ֤תhe.'a.LotH5927from overמֵעַ֣לme.'AlH5921the tentהָאֹ֔הֶלha.'O.helH168,afterwardוְאַ֣חֲרֵי־ כֵ֔ןve.'A.cha.rei- KhenH310 H3651the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478would setיִסְע֖וּyis.'UH5265outH5265;and in the placeוּבִמְק֗וֹםu.vim.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁ֤ר שָׁם֙'a.Sher shamH834 H8033the cloudהֶֽעָנָ֔ןhe.'a.NanH6051settledH7931downיִשְׁכָּן־yish.kon-H7931,thereשָׁ֥םshamH8033the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478would campיַחֲנ֖וּya.cha.NuH2583.

18At thecommandפִּ֣יpiH6310of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478would setיִסְעוּ֙yis.'UH5265outH5265, and at thecommandפִּ֥יpiH6310of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068they would campH2583;asH3605 H3117longH3605 H3117as the cloudהֶעָנָ֛ןhe.'a.NanH6051settledיִשְׁכֹּ֧ןyish.KonH7931overH5921the tabernacleהַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ןha.mish.KanH4908,they remainedH2583campedH2583.

19Even when the cloudהֶֽעָנָ֛ןhe.'a.NanH6051lingeredוּבְהַאֲרִ֧יךְu.ve.ha.'a.RikhH748overעַל־'al-H5921the tabernacleהַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ןha.mish.KanH4908for manyרַבִּ֑יםra.BimH7227daysיָמִ֣יםya.MimH3117,the sonsבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478would complyH8104withH8104the Lord’sיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068ordinanceמִשְׁמֶ֥רֶתmish.Me.retH4931and not setיִסָּֽעוּ׃yi.Sa.'uH5265outH5265.

21Ifsometimesוְיֵ֞שׁve.YeshH3426the cloudהֶֽעָנָן֙he.'a.NanH6051remainedיִהְיֶ֤הyih.YehH1961from eveningמֵעֶ֣רֶבme.'E.revH6153untilעַד־'ad-H5704morningבֹּ֔קֶרBo.kerH1242,when the cloudהֶֽעָנָ֛ןhe.'a.NanH6051was liftedוְנַעֲלָ֧הve.na.'a.LahH5927in the morningבַּבֹּ֖קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242they would setוְנָסָ֑עוּve.na.Sa.'uH5265outH5265;orא֚וֹ'oH176if it remainedin the daytimeיוֹמָ֣םyo.MamH3119and at nightוָלַ֔יְלָהva.Lay.lahH3915,whenever the cloudהֶעָנָ֖ןhe.'a.NanH6051was liftedוְנַעֲלָ֥הve.na.'a.LahH5927,they would setוְנָסָֽעוּ׃ve.na.Sa.'uH5265outH5265.
