The Passover
1Now the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 in the wildernessH4057 of SinaiH5514, in 1the firstH7223 monthH2320 of the secondH8145 yearH8141 after they had comeH3318 outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, sayingH559, 2“Now the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 are to 2celebrateH6213 the PassoverH6453 at 3its appointedH4150 timeH4150. 3On the fourteenthH702H6240 dayH3117 of thisH2088 monthH2320, 4at twilightH6153, you shall celebrateH6213 it at its appointedH4150 timeH4150; you shall celebrateH6213 it in accordance with allH3605 its statutesH2708 and allH3605 its ordinancesH4941.” 4So MosesH4872 5toldH1696 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 to celebrateH6213 the PassoverH6453. 5And 6they celebratedH6213 the PassoverH6453 in the firstH7223 month, on the fourteenthH702H6240 dayH3117 of the monthH2320, at twilightH6153, in the wildernessH4057 of SinaiH5514; 7in accordance with everythingH3605 that the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872, soH3651 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 didH6213. 6But there were some menH376 whoH834 were 8uncleanH2931 because of contact with a 9deadH5315 personH5315, so that they couldH3201 not celebrateH6213 PassoverH6453 on that dayH3117; and 10they cameH7126 beforeH6440 MosesH4872 and AaronH175 on that dayH3117. 7ThoseH1992 menH376 saidH559 to him, “Though we are uncleanH2931 because of a 11deadH5315 personH5315, whyH4100 are we keptH1639 from presentingH7126 the offeringH7133 of the LordH3068 at its appointedH4150 timeH4150 amongH8432 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478?” 8MosesH4872 then saidH559 to them, “1213WaitH5975, and I will listenH8085 to whatH4100 the LordH3068 will commandH6680 concerning you.”
9Then the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 10“SpeakH1696 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, ‘IfH3588 anyH376 oneH376 of you orH176 of your generationsH1755 becomesH1961 uncleanH2931 because of a dead 14personH5315, orH176 is on a distantH7350 journeyH1870, he may, however, celebrateH6213 the PassoverH6453 to the LordH3068. 11In the secondH8145 monthH2320 on the 15fourteenthH702H6240 dayH3117 at twilightH6153, they shall celebrateH6213 it; they 16shall eatH398 it with unleavenedH4682 breadH4682 and bitterH4844 herbsH4844. 12They 17shall not leaveH7604 any of it untilH5704 morningH1242, 18norH3808 breakH7665 a boneH6106 of it; they shall celebrateH6213 it in accordance with the wholeH3605 statuteH2708 of the PassoverH6453. 1319But the personH376 whoH834 is cleanH2889 and is not on a journeyH1870, yet refrainsH2308 from celebratingH6213 the PassoverH6453, that 20personH5315 shall then be cutH3772 offH3772 from his peopleH5971, becauseH3588 he did not presentH7126 the offeringH7133 of the LordH3068 at its appointedH4150 timeH4150. That personH376 21will bearH5375 the responsibility for his sinH2399. 14And 22ifH3588 a strangerH1616 residesH1481 amongH854 you and 23celebratesH6213 the PassoverH6453 to the LordH3068, according to the statuteH2708 of the PassoverH6453 and its ordinanceH4941, soH3651 he shall celebrateH6213 it; you shall haveH1961 24the 25sameH259 statuteH2708, both for the strangerH1616 and for the nativeH249 of the landH776.’”
The Cloud on the Tabernacle
15Now on 26the dayH3117 that the tabernacleH4908 was erectedH6965, 27the cloudH6051 coveredH3680 the tabernacleH4908, the 28tentH168 of the testimonyH5715, and 29in the eveningH6153 it was like the appearanceH4758 of fireH784 overH5921 the tabernacleH4908 untilH5704 morningH1242. 16ThatH3651 isH3651 howH3651 it was continuouslyH8548; 30the cloudH6051 would coverH3680 it by day, and the appearanceH4758 of fireH784 by nightH3915. 1731WheneverH6310 the cloudH6051 was liftedH5927 from overH5921 the tentH168, afterwardH310H3651 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 would setH5265 outH5265; and in the placeH4725 whereH834H8033 the cloudH6051 settledH7931 downH7931, thereH8033 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 would campH2583. 18At the 32commandH6310 of the LordH3068 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 would setH5265 outH5265, and at the 33commandH6310 of the LordH3068 they would campH2583; 34asH3605H3117 longH3605H3117 as the cloudH6051 settledH7931 overH5921 the tabernacleH4908, they remainedH2583 campedH2583. 19Even when the cloudH6051 lingeredH748 overH5921 the tabernacleH4908 for manyH7227 daysH3117, 35the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 would complyH8104 withH8104 the Lord’sH3068 ordinanceH4931 and not setH5265 outH5265. 20If 36sometimesH3426 the cloudH6051 remainedH1961 a fewH4557 daysH3117 overH5921 the tabernacleH4908, 37inH5921 accordanceH5921 withH5921 the 38commandH6310 of the LordH3068 they remainedH2583 campedH2583. Then inH5921 accordanceH5921 withH5921 the 39commandH6310 of the LordH3068 they setH5265 outH5265. 21If 40sometimesH3426 the cloudH6051 41remainedH1961 from eveningH6153 untilH5704 morningH1242, when the cloudH6051 was liftedH5927 in the morningH1242 they would setH5265 outH5265; orH176 if it remained in the daytimeH3119 and at nightH3915, whenever the cloudH6051 was liftedH5927, they would setH5265 outH5265. 22WhetherH176 it was two daysH3117, a monthH2320, orH176 a yearH3117 that the cloudH6051 lingeredH748 overH5921 the tabernacleH4908, stayingH7931 aboveH5921 it, the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 remainedH2583 campedH2583 and did not setH5265 outH5265; but 42when it was liftedH5927, they did setH5265 outH5265. 2343At the 44commandH6310 of the LordH3068 they campedH2583, and at the 45commandH6310 of the LordH3068 they setH5265 outH5265; they didH8104 whatH4931 the LordH3068 requiredH4931, inH5921 accordanceH5921 withH5921 the 46commandH6310 of the LordH3068 throughH3027 MosesH4872.
