2And the earthוְהָאָ֗רֶץve.ha.'A.retzH776was aformlessתֹ֙הוּ֙to.huH8414and desolateH922emptinessוָבֹ֔הוּva.Vo.huH922, anddarknessוְחֹ֖שֶׁךְve.Cho.shekhH2822was overעַל־'al-H5921thesurfaceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of the deepתְה֑וֹםte.HomH8415, andthe Spiritוְר֣וּחַve.Ru.achH7307of Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430was hoveringמְרַחֶ֖פֶתme.ra.Che.fetH7363overעַל־'al-H5921thesurfaceפְּנֵ֥יpe.NeiH6440of the watersהַמָּֽיִם׃ha.Ma.yimH4325.

3ThenGodאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Let there be lightא֑וֹר'orH216”;and there was lightאֽוֹר׃'orH216.

4Godאֱלֹהִ֛ים'E.lo.HimH430sawוַיַּ֧רְאvai.Yar'H7200that the lightהָא֖וֹרha.'OrH216wasgoodH2896;and Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430separatedוַיַּבְדֵּ֣לvai.yav.DelH914the lightהָא֖וֹרha.'OrH216from the darknessהַחֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ha.Cho.shekhH2822.

5Godאֱלֹהִ֤ים׀'E.lo.HimH430calledוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121the lightלָאוֹר֙la.'OrH216“dayי֔וֹםYomH3117,”and the darknessוְלַחֹ֖שֶׁךְve.la.Cho.shekhH2822He calledקָ֣רָאKa.ra'H7121“nightלָ֑יְלָהLai.lahH3915.” Andthere was eveningעֶ֥רֶב'E.revH6153and there was morningבֹ֖קֶרVo.kerH1242,oneאֶחָֽד׃ פ'e.ChadH259dayי֥וֹםYomH3117.

6Then Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Let there be anexpanseרָקִ֖יעַra.Ki.a'H7549in the midstבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the watersהַמָּ֑יִםha.Ma.yimH4325,and let it separateמַבְדִּ֔ילmav.DilH914the watersמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325from the watersלָמָֽיִם׃la.Ma.yimH4325.”

7Godאֱלֹהִים֮'E.lo.HimH430madeוַיַּ֣עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213theexpanseהָרָקִיעַ֒ha.ra.ki.a'H7549,and separatedוַיַּבְדֵּ֗לvai.yav.DelH914the watersהַמַּ֙יִם֙ha.Ma.yimH4325thatאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834were belowמִתַּ֣חַתmi.Ta.chatH4480 H8478theexpanseלָרָקִ֔יעַla.ra.Ki.a'H7549from the watersהַמַּ֔יִםha.Ma.yimH4325thatאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834were aboveמֵעַ֣לme.'AlH4480 H5921theexpanseלָרָקִ֑יעַla.ra.Ki.a'H7549;and it was soכֵֽן׃KhenH3651.

8Godאֱלֹהִ֛ים'E.lo.HimH430calledוַיִּקְרָ֧אvai.yik.Ra'H7121theexpanseלָֽרָקִ֖יעַla.ra.Ki.a'H7549“heavenשָׁמָ֑יִםsha.Ma.yimH8064.”And there was eveningעֶ֥רֶב'E.revH6153and there was morningבֹ֖קֶרVo.kerH1242,a secondשֵׁנִֽי׃ פshe.NiH8145dayי֥וֹםYomH3117.

9Then Godאֱלֹהִ֗ים'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Let the watersהַמַּ֜יִםha.Ma.yimH4325belowמִתַּ֤חַתmi.Ta.chatH4480 H8478the heavensהַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064be gatheredיִקָּו֨וּyi.ka.VuH6960into oneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259placeמָק֣וֹםma.KomH4725, and letthe dryהַיַּבָּשָׁ֑הhai.ya.ba.ShahH3004landH3004appearוְתֵרָאֶ֖הve.te.ra.'EhH7200”;and it was soכֵֽן׃KhenH3651.
