Isaiah 10:5-27

5WoeH1945 to 1AssyriaH804, the 2rodH7626 of My angerH639 And the staffH4294 in whose handsH3027 is 3My indignationH2195,6I sendH7971 it against a 4godlessH2611 nationH1471 And commissionH6680 it againstH5921 the 5peopleH5971 of My furyH5678 To captureH7997 bootyH7998 and 6to seizeH962 plunderH957, And to 7trampleH4823 them downH4823 like 8mudH2563 in the streetsH2351.7Yet it 9does not soH3651 intendH1819, NorH3808 does 10it planH2803 soH3651 in its heartH3824, But ratherH3588 it is 11its purposeH3824 to destroyH8045 And to cutH3772 offH3772 12manyH3808H4592 nationsH1471.8For it saysH559, “Are not my princesH8269 13allH3164 kingsH4428?9Is not 14CalnoH3641 like 15CarchemishH3751, OrH518 16HamathH2574 like ArpadH774, OrH518 17SamariaH8111 like 18DamascusH1834?10As my handH3027 has reachedH4672 to the 19kingdomsH4467 of the idolsH457, Whose gravenH6456 imagesH6456 were greater thanH4480 those of JerusalemH3389 and SamariaH8111,11Shall I not 20doH6213 to JerusalemH3389 and her imagesH6091 JustH3512 as I have doneH6213 to SamariaH8111 and 21her idolsH457?”

12So it will be that whenH3588 the LordH136 has completedH1214 allH3605 His 22workH4639 on MountH2022 ZionH6726 and on JerusalemH3389, He will say, “I will 23punishH6485 the fruitH6529 of the arrogantH1433 heartH3824 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 and 24the pompH8597 of 25his haughtinessH7312.” 13For 26he has saidH559, “By the powerH3581 of my handH3027 and by my wisdomH2451 I didH6213 this, For I haveH995 understandingH995; And I 27removedH5493 the boundariesH1367 of the peoplesH5971 And plunderedH8154 their treasuresH6264, And like a mightyH3524 manH47 I broughtH3381 downH3381 28their inhabitantsH3427,14And my handH3027 reachedH4672 to the richesH2428 of the peoplesH5971 like a 29nestH7064, And as one gathersH622 abandonedH5800 eggsH1000, I gatheredH622 allH3605 the earthH776; And there was not one that flappedH5074 its wingH3671 or openedH6475 its beakH6310 or chirpedH6850.”

15Is the 30axeH1631 to 31boastH6286 itself overH5921 the one who chopsH2672 with it? Is the sawH4883 to exaltH1431 itself overH5921 the one who wieldsH5130 it? That would be like 32a 33clubH7626 wieldingH5130 those who liftH7311 it, Or like 34a rodH4294 liftingH7311 him who is not woodH6086.16ThereforeH3651 the LordH136, the 35GodH3068 of hostsH6635, will sendH7971 a 36wastingH7332 diseaseH7332 among his 37stoutH4924 warriorsH4924; And underH8478 his 38gloryH3519 a fireH3350 will be kindledH3344 like a burningH3350 flameH784.17And the 39lightH216 of IsraelH3478 will becomeH1961 a fireH784 and his 40HolyH6918 OneH6918 a flameH3852, And it will 41burnH1197 and devourH398 his thornsH7898 and his briarsH8068 in a singleH259 dayH3117.18And He will 42destroyH3615 the gloryH3519 of his forestH3293 and of his fruitfulH3759 gardenH3759, bothH4480 soulH5315 and bodyH1320, And it will be as when a sickH5263 manH5263 wastesH4549 awayH4549.19And the 43restH7605 of the treesH6086 of his forestH3293 will be so small in numberH4557 That a childH5288 could writeH3789 them downH3789.

20Now in that dayH3117 the 44remnantH7605 of IsraelH3478, and those of the houseH1004 of JacobH3290 45whoH6413 have escapedH6413, will neverH3808 againH3254 relyH8172 on the one who struckH5221 them, but will trulyH571 46relyH8172 on the LordH3068, the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478.21A 47remnantH7605 will returnH7725, the remnantH7605 of JacobH3290, to the 48mightyH1368 GodH410.22For 49thoughH518 your peopleH5971, O IsraelH3478, may be like the sandH2344 of the seaH3220, Only a remnantH7605 within them will returnH7725; A 50destructionH3631 is determinedH2782, overflowingH7857 with righteousnessH6666. 23For a completeH3617 destructionH3617, one that is decreedH2782, 51the LordH136 52GodH3068 of hostsH6635 will executeH6213 in the midstH7130 of the wholeH3605 landH776.

24ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 53GodH3068 of hostsH6635, “O My peopleH5971 who dwellH3427 in 54ZionH6726, 55do not fearH3372 the AssyrianH804 56who 57strikesH5221 you with the rodH7626 and liftsH5375 up his staffH4294 againstH5921 you, the wayH1870 EgyptH4714 did. 25For in a veryH4213 58littleH4592 whileH5750 59My indignationH2195 against you will be spentH3615 and My angerH639 will be directed to their destructionH8399.” 26The LordH3068 of hostsH6635 will 60arouseH5782 a scourgeH7752 againstH5921 him like the slaughterH4347 of 61MidianH4080 at the rockH6697 of OrebH6159; and His 62staffH4294 will be overH5921 the seaH3220 and He will liftH5375 it up 63the wayH1870 He did in EgyptH4714. 27So it will be in that dayH3117, that 64his 65burdenH5448 will be removedH5493 from your shouldersH7926 and his yokeH5923 from your neckH6677, and the yokeH5923 will be brokenH2254 becauseH4480H6440 66of fatnessH8081.
