Proverbs 3
Darby Bible
1My sonH1121, forgetH7911 not my teaching, and let thy heartH3820 observeH5341 my commandmentsH4687; 2for lengthH753 of daysH3117, and yearsH8141 of life, and peaceH7965 shall they addH3254 to thee. 3Let not loving-kindness and truthH571 forsakeH5800 thee; bindH7194 them about thy neckH1621, writeH3789 them upon the tabletH3871 of thy heartH3820: 4and thou shalt findH4672 favour and goodH2896 understandingH7922 in the sight of 1GodH430 and manH120. 5Confide in Jehovah with all thy heartH3820, and leanH8172 not unto thine own intelligence; 6in all thy waysH1870 acknowledge him, and he will makeH3045 plain thy pathsH734. 7BeH1961 not wiseH2450 in thine own eyesH5869; fearH3372 Jehovah, and departH5493 from evilH7451: 8it shall beH1961 health for thy navel, and moisture for thy bonesH6106. 9Honour Jehovah with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of all thine increase; 10so shall thy barns be filledH4390 with plentyH7647, and thy vats shall overflow with newH8492 wineH8492. 11My sonH1121, despise not the instruction of Jehovah, neither be weary of his chastisement; 12for whom Jehovah loveth he chasteneth, even as a fatherH1 the sonH1121 in whom he delighteth. 13Blessed is the manH120 that findeth wisdomH2451, and the manH120 that getteth understandingH8394. 14For the gain thereof is betterH2896 than the gain of silverH3701, and her revenue than fine goldH2742. 15She is more preciousH3368 than rubies; and all the things thou canst desireH2656 are not equal unto her. 16LengthH753 of daysH3117 is in her rightH3225 handH3225; in her left handH3225 richesH6239 and honour. 17Her waysH1870 are waysH1870 of pleasantness, and all her pathsH5410 are peaceH7965. 18She is a treeH6086 of lifeH2416 to them that lay holdH2388 upon her; and happy is he that retaineth her. 19Jehovah by wisdomH2451 foundedH3245 the earthH776; by understandingH8394 he establishedH3559 the heavensH8064. 20By his knowledgeH1847 the deepsH8415 were brokenH1234 up, and the skies drop down the dewH2919. 21My sonH1121, let them not departH3868 from thine eyesH5869; keepH5341 soundH8454 wisdomH8454 and discretionH4209: 22so shall they beH1961 lifeH5315 unto thy soulH5315, and graceH2580 unto thy neckH1621. 23ThenH227 shalt thou walk in thy wayH1870 securely, and thy footH7272 shall not stumble; 24when thou liest downH7901, thou shalt not be afraidH6342, but thou shalt lieH7901 downH7901 and thy sleepH8142 shall be sweet. 25Be not afraidH3372 of sudden fearH3372, neither of the destructionH7722 of the wickedH7563, when it cometh; 26for Jehovah shall beH1961 thy confidenceH3689, and he will keepH8104 thy footH7272 from being taken. 27WithholdH4513 not goodH2896 from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thy handH3027 to do it. 28SayH559 not unto thy neighbour, GoH7725, and come again, and to-morrow I will giveH5414, when thou hast it by thee. 29Devise not evilH7451 against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. 30Strive not with a manH120 without causeH2600, if he have done thee no harmH7451. 31Envy not the manH376 of violenceH2555, and chooseH977 none of his waysH1870. 32For the perverse is an abominationH8441 to Jehovah; but his secretH5475 is with the uprightH3477. 33The curse of Jehovah is in the houseH1004 of the wickedH7563; but he blesseth the habitation of the righteousH6662. 34He indeed scorneth the scorners; but he giveth graceH2580 unto the lowly. 35The wiseH2450 shall inheritH5157 gloryH3519; but shameH7036 shall be the promotion of the foolish.
