Proverbs 24
Darby Bible
1BeH1961 not thou envious of evilH7451 menH376, neither desireH183 to beH1961 with them; 2for their heartH3820 studieth destructionH7701, and their lipsH8193 talk of mischiefH5999. 3Through wisdomH2451 is a houseH1004 builtH1129, and by understandingH8394 it is establishedH3559; 4and by knowledgeH1847 are the chambersH2315 filledH4390 with all preciousH3368 and pleasantH5273 substance. 5A wiseH2450 manH376 is strong, and a manH376 of knowledgeH1847 increaseth strengthH5797. 6For with good advice shalt thou makeH6213 thy warH4421; and in the multitudeH7230 of counsellors there is safety. 7Wisdom is too highH7311 for a foolH191: he will not openH6605 his mouthH6310 in the gateH8179. 8He that deviseth to do evilH4209 shall be calledH7121 a master of intrigues. 9The purpose of follyH200 is sinH2403, and the scorner is an abominationH8441 to menH120. 10[If] thou losest courage in the dayH3117 of troubleH6869, thy strengthH3581 is small. 11DeliverH5337 them that are takenH3947 forth unto deathH4194, and withdraw not from them that stagger to slaughterH2027. 12If thou sayest, Behold, we knewH3045 it not, will not he that weigheth the heartsH3826 considerH995 it? And he that preserveth thy soulH5315, he knoweth it; and he rendereth to manH120 according to his workH6467. 13EatH398 honeyH1706, my sonH1121, for it is goodH2896; and a honeycomb is sweetH4966 to thy taste: 14soH3651 consider wisdomH2451 for thy soulH5315; if thou hast foundH4672 it, there shall be a result, and thine expectation shall not be cutH3772 off. 15LayH693 not waitH693, O wickedH7563 [man], against the dwelling of the righteousH6662; layH693 not waste his resting-place. 16For the righteousH6662 falleth sevenH7651 times, and riseth up again; but the wickedH7563 stumbleH3782 into disaster. 17RejoiceH8055 not when thine enemyH341 falleth, and let not thy heartH3820 be gladH8055 when he stumbleth; 18lestH6435 Jehovah seeH7200 it, and it be evilH7489 in his sight, and he turnH7725 awayH7725 his angerH639 from him. 19FretH2734 not thyself because of evil-doers, [and] be not envious of the wickedH7563: 20for there shall beH1961 no futureH319 to the evilH7451 [man]; the lampH5216 of the wickedH7563 shall beH1961 put out. 21My sonH1121, fearH3372 Jehovah and the kingH4428: meddle not with them that are given to change. 22For their calamityH343 shall riseH6965 suddenlyH6597; and who knoweth the ruin of them both? 23These thingsH428 alsoH1571 come from the wiseH2450. It is not goodH2896 to have respect of persons in judgmentH4941. 24He that saith unto the wickedH7563, Thou art righteousH6662, peoplesH5971 shall curse him, nations shall abhor him; 25but to them that rebukeH3198 [him] shall be delight, and a goodH2896 blessingH1293 cometh upon them. 26He kisseth the lipsH8193 who giveth a rightH5228 answer. 27PrepareH3559 thy workH4399 without, and put thy fieldH7704 in order, and afterwards buildH1129 thy houseH1004. 28BeH1961 not a witnessH5707 against thy neighbour without causeH2600; and wouldest thou deceive with thy lipsH8193? 29SayH559 not, I will do soH3651 to him as he hath done to me, I will render to the manH376 according to his workH6467. 30I went by the fieldH7704 of a sluggardH6102, and by the vineyardH3754 of a manH376 void of understanding; 31and lo, it was all grown over with thistles, and nettlesH2738 had coveredH3680 the faceH6440 thereof, and its stoneH68 wallH1444 was brokenH2040 downH2040. 32Then I lookedH7200, I tookH3947 it to heartH3820; I sawH7200, I receivedH3947 instruction: 33— A littleH4592 sleepH8142, a littleH4592 slumberH8572, a littleH4592 foldingH2264 of the handsH3027 to restH7901! 34So shall thy povertyH7389 comeH935 [as] a roving plunderer, and thy penury as an armed manH376.
