Job 20:4-18

Knowest thou [not] this, that of old, since manH120 was placedH7760 upon earthH776,

The exultation of the wickedH7563 is short, and the joyH8057 of the ungodly man but for a momentH7281?

Though his height mount up to the heavensH8064, and his headH7218 reachH5060 unto the cloudsH5645,

Like his own dungH1561 doth he perishH6 for ever; they which have seenH7200 him shall sayH559, WhereH335 is he?

He flieth awayH5074 as a dreamH2472, and is not foundH4672; and is chased awayH5074 as a visionH2384 of the nightH3915.

The eyeH5869 which saw him shall [see him] not againH5750; and his placeH4725 beholdeth him no more.

His children shall seek the favour of the poorH1800, and his handsH3027 restoreH7725 his wealthH202.

His bonesH6106 were fullH4390 of his youthful strength; but it shall lieH7901 down with him in the dustH6083.

Though wickednessH7451 be sweetH4985 in his mouthH6310 [and] he hideH3582 it under his tongueH3956,

[Though] he spareH2550 it, and forsakeH5800 it not, but keep it within his mouthH2441,

His foodH3899 is turnedH2015 in his bowelsH4578; it is the gall of asps within him.

He hath swallowedH1104 down riches, but he shall vomitH6958 them up again: 1GodH410 shall cast them out of his bellyH990.

He shall suckH3243 the poisonH7219 of asps; the viper's tongueH3956 shall killH2026 him.

He shall not seeH7200 streams, riversH5104, brooks of honeyH1706 and butter.

That which he laboured for shall he restoreH7725, and not swallowH1104 down; its restitution shall be according to the value, and he shall not rejoice [therein].
