Kings 8:22-35

And SolomonH8010 stoodH5975 before the altarH4196 of Jehovah in the presenceH6440 of the whole congregation of IsraelH3478, and spreadH6566 forth his handsH3709 toward the heavensH8064.

And he saidH559, Jehovah, 1GodH430 of IsraelH3478! there is no 2GodH430 like thee, in the heavensH8064 above, or on the earthH776 beneath, who keepest covenantH1285 and mercy with thy servantsH5650 that walkH1980 before thee with all their heartH3820;

who hast keptH8104 with thy servantH5650 DavidH1732 my fatherH1 that which thou didst promise him; thou spokest with thy mouthH6310, and hast fulfilled [it] with thy handH3027, as at this dayH3117.

And nowH6258, Jehovah, 3GodH430 of IsraelH3478, keepH8104 with thy servantH5650 DavidH1732 my fatherH1 that which thou hast promised him, sayingH559, There shall not fail thee a manH376 in my sight to sitH3427 on the throneH3678 of IsraelH3478, if onlyH7535 thy sonsH1121 takeH8104 heedH8104 to their wayH1870, to walkH1980 before me as thou hast walkedH1980 before me.

And nowH6258, O 4GodH430 of IsraelH3478, let thy wordsH1697, I pray thee, be verified, which thou hast spokenH1696 unto thy servantH5650 DavidH1732 my fatherH1.

But will 5GodH430 indeed dwellH3427 on the earthH776? Behold, the heavensH8064, and the heavenH8064 of heavensH8064, cannot containH3557 thee; how much less this houseH1004 which I have builtH1129!

Yet have respect unto the prayerH8605 of thy servantH5650, and to his supplicationH8467, Jehovah, my 6GodH430, to hearken unto the cryH7440 and to the prayerH8605 which thy servantH5650 prayeth before thee this dayH3117;

that thine eyesH5869 may beH1961 openH6605 upon this houseH1004 nightH3915 and dayH3117, upon the placeH4725 of which thou hast saidH559, My nameH8034 shall beH1961 there: to hearken unto the prayerH8605 which thy servantH5650 prayeth toward this placeH4725.

And hearken unto the supplicationH8467 of thy servantH5650, and of thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, whenH834 they shall prayH6419 toward this placeH4725, and hearH8085 thou in thy dwelling-place, in the heavensH8064, and whenH834 thou hearest, forgiveH5545.

If a manH376 have sinnedH2398 against his neighbour, and an oathH423 be laid upon him to adjure him, and the oathH423 comeH935 before thine altarH4196 in this houseH1004;

then hearH8085 thou in the heavensH8064, and do, and judgeH8199 thy servantsH5650, condemningH7561 the wickedH7563, to bring his wayH1870 upon his own headH7218; and justifyingH6663 the righteousH6662, givingH5414 him according to his righteousnessH6666.

WhenH834 thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 are put to the worse before the enemyH341, because they have sinnedH2398 against thee, and shall turnH7725 again to thee, and confessH3034 thy nameH8034, and prayH6419, and make supplication unto thee in this houseH1004;

then hearH8085 thou in the heavensH8064, and forgiveH5545 the sinH2403 of thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, and bringH7725 them again unto the landH127 that thou gavest unto their fathersH1.

When the heavensH8064 are shutH6113 up, and there is no rainH4306, because they have sinnedH2398 against thee; if they prayH6419 toward this placeH4725, and confessH3034 thy nameH8034, and turnH7725 from their sinH2398, because thou hast afflicted them;
