WhoH4310 then is willingH5068 11to consecrateH4390H3027 himself this dayH3117 to the LordH3068?”
6Then 12the rulersH8269 of the fathers’H1 households, the leadersH8269 of the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, and the commandersH8269 of thousandsH505 and hundredsH3967, with 13the supervisorsH8269 of the king’sH4428 workH4399, offeredH5068 willinglyH5068; 7and for the serviceH5656 of the houseH1004 of GodH430 they gaveH5414 fiveH2568 thousandH505 talentsH3603 and tenH6235 thousandH505 1415daricsH150 of goldH2091, tenH6235 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of silverH3701, eighteenH8083H7239H505 thousandH8083H7239H505 talentsH3603 of brassH5178, and a hundredH3967 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of ironH1270. 816Whoever possessedH4672 precious stonesH68 gaveH5414 them to the treasuryH214 of the houseH1004 of the LordH3068, 17in careH3027 of 18JehielH3171 the GershoniteH1649. 9Then the peopleH5971 rejoicedH8055 becauseH5921 they had offeredH5068 so willinglyH5068, for they madeH5068 their offeringH5068 to the LordH3068 19wholeheartedlyH8003H3820, and KingH4428 DavidH1732 alsoH1571 rejoicedH8055 greatlyH1419.
David’s Prayer
10So DavidH1732 blessedH1288 the LordH3068 in the sightH5869 of allH3605 the assemblyH6951; and DavidH1732 saidH559, “BlessedH1288 are You, LordH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478 our fatherH1, foreverH5769 and everH5769. 1120Yours, LordH3068, is the greatnessH1420, the powerH1369, the gloryH8597, the victoryH5331, and the majestyH1935, indeedH3588 everythingH3605 that is in the heavensH8064 and on the earthH776; Yours is the dominionH4467, LordH3068, and You exaltH5375 Yourself as headH7218 over allH3605. 1221Both richesH6239 and honorH3519 come from You, and You ruleH4910 over allH3605, and 22in Your handH3027 is powerH3581 and mightH1369; and it lies in Your handH3027 to makeH1431 greatH1431 and to strengthenH2388 everyoneH3605. 13NowH6258 therefore, our GodH430, we thankH3034 You, and praiseH1984 Your gloriousH8597 nameH8034.
14“But whoH4310 am I and whoH4310 are my peopleH5971 that we should 23beH6113 ableH6113H3581 to offerH5068 as generously as thisH2088? For allH3605 thingsH3605 come from You, and from Your handH3027 we have givenH5414 to You. 15For 24we are strangersH1616 beforeH6440 You, and temporaryH8453 residentsH8453, as allH3605 our fathersH1 were; 25our daysH3117 on the earthH776 are like a shadowH6738, and thereH369 isH369 noH369 hopeH4723. 16LordH3068 our GodH430, allH3605 thisH2088 abundanceH1995 that we have providedH3559 to buildH1129 You a houseH1004 for Your holyH6944 nameH8034, it is from Your handH3027, and everythingH3605 is Yours. 17Since I knowH3045, my GodH430, that 26You putH974 the heartH3824 toH974 theH974 testH974 and 27delightH7521 in uprightnessH4339, I, in the integrityH3476 of my heartH3824, have willinglyH5068 offeredH5068 allH3605 theseH428 things; so nowH6258 with joyH8057 I have seenH7200 Your peopleH5971, who areH4672 presentH4672 hereH6311, makeH5068 their offeringsH5068 willinglyH5068 to You. 18LordH3068, GodH430 of AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327, and IsraelH3478, our fathersH1, keepH8104 thisH2088 foreverH5769 in the 28intentionsH3336H4284 of the heartsH3824 of Your peopleH5971, and directH3559 their heartsH3824 to You; 19and 29giveH5414 my sonH1121 SolomonH8010 a perfectH8003 heartH3824 to keepH8104 Your commandmentsH4687, Your testimoniesH5715, and Your statutesH2706, and to doH6213 them allH3605, and 30to buildH1129 the 31templeH1002 for whichH834 I have madeH3559 provisionH3559.”
20Then DavidH1732 saidH559 to allH3605 the assemblyH6951, “NowH4994 blessH1288 the LordH3068 your GodH430.” And 32allH3605 the assemblyH6951 blessedH1288 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1, and 33bowedH6915 downH6915 and paidH2331 34homageH2331 to the LordH3068 and the kingH4428.
Sacrifices
21On the nextH4283 dayH3117 35they 36madeH2076 sacrificesH2077 to the LordH3068 and offeredH5927 burntH5930 offeringsH5930 to the LordH3068, a thousandH505 bullsH6499, a thousandH505 ramsH352, and a thousandH505 lambsH3532, with their drinkH5262 offeringsH5262 and sacrificesH2077 in abundanceH7230 for allH3605 IsraelH3478.
Solomon Again Made King
22So they ateH398 and drankH8354 that dayH3117 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 with greatH1419 gladnessH8057.
And they madeH4427 SolomonH8010 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732 kingH4427 37a secondH8145 timeH8145, and they 38anointedH4886 him as rulerH5057 for the LordH3068 and ZadokH6659 as priestH3548. 23Then 39SolomonH8010 satH3427 on the throneH3678 of the LordH3068 as kingH4428 insteadH8478 ofH8478 his fatherH1 DavidH1732; and he prosperedH6743, and allH3605 IsraelH3478 obeyedH8085 him. 24And allH3605 the officialsH8269, the mightyH1368 menH1368, and alsoH1571 allH3605 the sonsH1121 of KingH4428 DavidH1732 40pledgedH5414 allegianceH3027H8478 to KingH4428 SolomonH8010. 2541The LordH3068 highlyH4605 honoredH1431 SolomonH8010 in the sightH5869 of allH3605 IsraelH3478, and 42bestowedH5414 on him royalH4438 majestyH1935 whichH834 hadH1961 not beenH1961 bestowed on anyH3605 kingH4428 beforeH6440 him in IsraelH3478.
26Now 43DavidH1732 the sonH1121 of JesseH3448 reignedH4427 overH5921 allH3605 IsraelH3478. 2744The periodH3117 whichH834 he reignedH4427 overH5921 IsraelH3478 was fortyH705 yearsH8141; he reignedH4427 in HebronH2275 sevenH7651 yearsH8141 and 45in JerusalemH3389 thirty-threeH7970H7969 years.
Death of David
28Then he diedH4191 at 46a goodH2896 oldH7872 ageH7872, 47fullH7649 of daysH3117, richesH6239, and honorH3519; and his sonH1121 SolomonH8010 reignedH4427 inH8478 his placeH8478. 29Now the actsH1697 of KingH4428 DavidH1732, from the firstH7223 to the lastH314, are writtenH3789 in the chroniclesH1697 of 48SamuelH8050 the seerH7203, in the chroniclesH1697 of 49NathanH5416 the prophetH5030, and in the chroniclesH1697 of 50GadH1410 the seerH2374, 30with allH3605 of his reignH4438, his powerH1369, and the circumstancesH6256 whichH834 cameH5674 upon him, IsraelH3478, and allH3605 the kingdomsH4467 of the landsH776.
