Revised Version 1895
1And DavidH1732 the kingH4428 saidH559 unto allH3605 the congregationH6951, SolomonH8010 my sonH1121, whomH259 aloneH259 GodH430 hath chosenH977, is yet youngH5288 and tenderH7390, and the workH4399 is greatH1419: for the palace is notH3808 for manH120, but for the LORDH3068 GodH430: 2Now I have preparedH3559 with allH3605 my might for the houseH1004 of my GodH430 the goldH2091 for the things of goldH2091, and the silverH3701 for the things of silverH3701, and the brassH5178 for the things of brassH5178, the ironH1270 for the things of ironH1270, and woodH6086 for the things of woodH6086; onyxH7718 stonesH68, and stonesH68 to be setH3559, stonesH68 for inlaidH4394 workH7553, and of divers colours, and allH3605 manner of preciousH3368 stonesH68, and marble stonesH68 in abundanceH7230. 3MoreoverH5750 also, becauseH3605 I have setH5414 my affection to the houseH1004 of my GodH430, seeing that I have a treasureH5459 of mine own of goldH2091 and silverH3701, I giveH5414 it unto the houseH1004 of my GodH430, over and aboveH4605 allH3605 that I have preparedH3559 for the holyH6944 houseH1004; 4evenH7651 threeH7969 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of goldH2091, of the goldH2091 of OphirH211, and sevenH7651 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of refinedH2212 silverH3701, to overlayH2902 the wallsH7023 of the housesH1004 withal: 5of goldH2091 for the things of goldH2091, and of silverH3701 for the things of silverH3701, and for allH3605 manner of workH4399 to be madeH4399 by the handsH3027 of artificers. Who then offereth willinglyH5068 to consecrate himselfH3027 this dayH3117 unto the LORDH3068? 6Then the princesH8269 of the fathers’H1 houses, and the princesH8269 of the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, and the captainsH8269 of thousandsH505 and of hundredsH3967, with the rulersH8269 over the king’sH4428 workH4399, offeredH5068 willinglyH5068; 7and they gaveH5414 for the serviceH5656 of the houseH1004 of GodH430 of goldH2091 fiveH2568 thousandH505 talentsH3603 and tenH6235 thousandH505 daricsH150, and of silverH3701 tenH6235 thousandH505 talentsH3603, and of brassH5178 eighteen thousandH505 talentsH3603, and of ironH1270 a hundredH3967 thousandH505 talentsH3603. 8And they with whom preciousH854 stonesH68 were foundH4672 gaveH5414 them to the treasureH214 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, underH5921 the handH3027 of JehielH3171 the GershoniteH1649. 9Then the peopleH5971 rejoicedH8055, for that they offeredH5068 willinglyH5068, becauseH3588 with a perfectH8003 heartH3820 they offeredH5068 willinglyH5068 to the LORDH3068: and DavidH1732 the kingH4428 also rejoicedH8055 with greatH1419 joyH8057. 10Wherefore DavidH1732 blessedH1288 the LORDH3068 beforeH5869 allH3605 the congregationH6951: and DavidH1732 saidH559, BlessedH1288 be thou, O LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 our fatherH1, for everH5769 and everH5769. 11Thine, O LORDH3068, is the greatnessH1420, and the powerH1369, and the gloryH8597, and the victoryH5331, and the majestyH1935: for allH3605 that is in the heavenH8064 and in the earthH776 is thine; thine is the kingdomH4467, O LORDH3068, and thou art exalted as headH7218 above allH3605. 12BothH3605 richesH6239 and honour come of thee, and thou rulest over allH3605; and in thine handH3027 is powerH3027 and might; and in thine handH3027 it is to makeH1431 greatH1431, and to give strengthH1369 unto allH3605. 13NowH6258 therefore, our GodH430, weH587 thankH3034 thee, and praiseH1984 thy gloriousH8597 nameH8034. 14But who am I, and whatH4310 is my peopleH5971, that weH3588 should be ableH3027 to offerH5414 soH4480 willinglyH5068 afterH4480 this sort? for allH3605 things come of thee, and of thine own have weH3588 givenH5414 thee. 15For weH587 are strangersH1616 beforeH6440 thee, and sojournersH8453, as allH3605 our fathersH1 were: our daysH3117 on the earthH776 are as a shadowH6738, and there is noH369 abiding. 16O LORDH3068 our GodH430, allH3605 this store that weH834 have preparedH3559 to buildH1129 thee an houseH1004 for thine holyH6944 nameH8034 cometh of thine handH3027, and is allH3605 thine own. 17I knowH3045 also, my GodH430, that thou triest the heartH3824, and hast pleasureH8057 in uprightnessH3476, As for meH7200, in the uprightnessH3476 of mine heartH3824 I have willinglyH5068 offeredH5068 allH3605 theseH428 things: and nowH6258 have I seenH7200 with joyH8057 thy peopleH5971, whichH428 are presentH4672 hereH6311, to offerH5068 willinglyH5068 unto thee. 18O LORDH3068, the GodH430 of AbrahamH85, of IsaacH3327, and of IsraelH3478, our fathersH1, keepH8104 this for everH5769 in the imagination of the thoughtsH4284 of the heartH3824 of thy peopleH5971; and prepareH3559 their heartH3824 unto thee: 19and giveH5414 unto SolomonH8010 my sonH1121 a perfectH8003 heartH3824, to keepH8104 thy commandmentsH4687, thy testimoniesH5715, and thy statutesH2708, and to doH6213 allH3605 theseH3605 things, and to buildH1129 the palace, for the whichH834 I have madeH6213 provisionH3559. 20And DavidH1732 saidH559 to allH3605 the congregationH6951, NowH4994 blessH1288 the LORDH3068 your GodH430. And allH3605 the congregationH6951 blessedH1288 the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1, and bowedH7812 downH7812 their heads, and worshipped the LORDH3068, and the kingH4428. 21And they sacrificedH2076 sacrificesH2077 unto the LORDH3068, and offeredH5927 burntH5930 offeringsH3068 unto the LORDH3068, on the morrow afterH4283 that dayH3117, even a thousandH505 bullocks, a thousandH505 ramsH352, and a thousandH505 lambsH3532, with their drink offeringsH3068, and sacrificesH2077 in abundanceH7230 for allH3605 IsraelH3478; 22and didH3117 eatH398 and drinkH8354 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 on that dayH3117 with greatH1419 gladnessH8057. And they made SolomonH8010 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732 kingH4427 the secondH8145 time, and anointedH4886 him unto the LORDH3068 to be princeH5057, and ZadokH6659 to be priestH3548. 23Then SolomonH8010 satH3427 on the throneH3678 of the LORDH3068 as kingH4428 insteadH8478 of DavidH1732 his fatherH1, and prospered; and allH3605 IsraelH3478 obeyedH8085 him. 24And allH3605 the princesH8269, and the mightyH1368 menH1368, and allH3605 the sonsH1121 likewise of kingH4428 DavidH1732, submitted themselves unto SolomonH8010 the kingH4428. 25And the LORDH3068 magnifiedH1431 SolomonH8010 exceedinglyH4605 in the sightH5869 of allH3605 IsraelH3478, and bestowedH5414 uponH5921 him suchH834 royalH4438 majestyH1935 as had notH3808 been on anyH3605 kingH4428 beforeH6440 him in IsraelH3478. 26Now DavidH1732 the sonH1121 of JesseH3448 reignedH4427 over allH3605 IsraelH3478. 27And the time that he reignedH4427 over IsraelH3478 was fortyH705 yearsH8141; sevenH7651 yearsH8141 reignedH4427 he in HebronH2275, and thirtyH7970 and threeH7969 yearsH8141 reignedH4427 he in JerusalemH3389. 28And he diedH4191 in a goodH2896 oldH1121 ageH3117, fullH3117 of daysH3117, richesH6239, and honour: and SolomonH8010 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his steadH8478. 29NowH2009 the actsH1697 of DavidH1732 the kingH4428, firstH7223 and lastH314, beholdH2009, they are writtenH3789 in the history of SamuelH8050 the seerH2374, and in the history of NathanH5416 the prophetH5030, and in the history of GadH1410 the seerH2374; 30with allH3605 his reignH4438 and his might, and the timesH6256 that went over him, and over IsraelH3478, and over allH3605 the kingdomsH4467 of the countriesH776.
