1 Chronicles 13
Darby Bible
1And DavidH1732 consultedH3289 with the captains of thousandsH505 and hundredsH3967, with every princeH8269. 2And DavidH1732 saidH559 to all the congregation of IsraelH3478, If it seem goodH2895 to you, and it be of Jehovah our 1GodH430, let us sendH7971 abroad to our brethren everywhere, that are leftH7604 in all the landsH4054 of IsraelH3478, and with them to the priestsH3548 and LevitesH3881 in their citiesH5892 and suburbs, that they may gatherH6908 themselves to us; 3and let us bringH5437 again the arkH727 of our 2GodH430 to us; for we inquired not of it in the daysH3117 of SaulH7586. 4And all the congregation saidH559 that they should do soH3651; for the thingH1697 was right in the eyesH5869 of all the peopleH5971. 5And DavidH1732 assembledH6950 all IsraelH3478 from the ShihorH7883 of EgyptH4714 unto the entrance of HamathH2574, to bringH935 the arkH727 of 3GodH430 from Kirjath-jearim. 6And DavidH1732 wentH5927 up, and all IsraelH3478, to BaalahH1173, to Kirjath-jearim, which belonged to JudahH3063, to bringH5927 up from thence the arkH727 of 4GodH430, of Jehovah, who sitteth between the cherubimH3742, whose nameH8034 is placed [there]. 7And they carried the arkH727 of 5GodH430 on a newH2319 cartH5699 out of the houseH1004 of AbinadabH41; and Uzza and AhioH283 drove the cartH5699. 8And DavidH1732 and all IsraelH3478 playedH7832 before 6GodH430 with all their might, and with singing, and with harpsH3658, and with lutes, and with tambours, and with cymbalsH4700, and with trumpetsH2689. 9And when they cameH935 to the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forthH7971 his handH3027 to holdH270 the arkH727; for the oxenH1241 had stumbled. 10And the angerH639 of Jehovah was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he had putH4191 forthH7971 his handH3027 to the arkH727; and there he diedH4191 before 7GodH430. 11And DavidH1732 was indignant; for Jehovah had made a breachH6556 upon Uzza; and he calledH7121 that placeH4725 Perez-Uzza to this dayH3117. 12And DavidH1732 was afraidH3372 of 8GodH430 that dayH3117, sayingH559, HowH1963 shall I bringH935 the arkH727 of 9GodH430 to me? 13And DavidH1732 brought not the arkH727 home unto himself into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, but he carried it asideH5493 into the houseH1004 of Obed-EdomH5654 the GittiteH1663. 14And the arkH727 of 10GodH430 remainedH3427 with the family of Obed-EdomH5654 in his houseH1004 threeH7969 monthsH2320. And Jehovah blessedH1288 the houseH1004 of Obed-EdomH5654, and all that he had.
